I'm sorry, I know this is OT, but it's exactly this type of attitude that has me up every night for a year ahead of time planning our trip. Not all kids that have trouble waiting are "animals". DS has PDD-NOS and waiting is not one of his greatest talents. I would love to believe that this is due to poor parenting and not a disorder that he works so hard to deal with on a daily basis.
Don't be so quick to judge the child who seems to be on the brink of a meltdown, maybe you can't comprehend how difficult this is for him. Maybe the fact that he's not running around screaming like a banchee throwing his shoes through the windows has his parents beaming with pride.
And yes, I am not only pre-planning every restaurant meal, I'll come prepared with a pack of things to help him wait and make every effort to keep him from disrupting anyone.
Ok, off my autism awareness soapbox and back to the regularly scheduled posts.
sorry, if I offended anyone that wasn't my intent.
Thanks,
Heather
