I had made a reservation for Whispering Canyon for 9/26, then I called and got 1900 Park Fare, I was so excited...Disney made the reservation, gave me a confirmation # and everything. I called today to get a list of my ressies to make sure everything was ok. Well, some how they cancelled 1900 Park Fare, the same day I made it, and did not cancel WC..now there is nothing available all week.

I am so disappointed. I have 4 children, of which 3 are boys, and I thought they would get a kick out of the step-sisters.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

I have been to both several times. And I honestly believe your boys will enjoy Whispering Canyon much more. By the way, the prime rib is one of the best I have ever eaten.

I agree with the previous poster. I think your boys will like Whispering Canyon much more that 1900 Park Fare. Park Fare is geared more toward girls.

:) Another vote for WC< I think they are going to enjoy that so much more then 1900 park fare. the food there is good :)

I have to disagree with all the previous respondents. Our DS is 4 almost 5 and would much prefer 1900 Park Fare over WCC. We own all 3 Cinderella movies and he loves the step-sisters and Lady Tremaine. We are eating at 1900 PF in October and he is going to be so surprised and very happy that he's going to be able to interact with those characters.

My suggestion is that you keep trying and call back every day. Someone will cancel (I hope). You are still more than 2 months away from your trip. Our ressie for 1900 PF isn't until 7:20 but I think I'm going to try calling and seeing if an earlier time has opened up. If not we'll just eat a slightly later dinner than usual. Not a big deal.

I hope you finally get a seating so you can enjoy it. I've heard a lot of people rave about the food but also how great the characters are. Good luck!

my DS would have been MORTIFIED if I took him to 1900 Park Fare. He LOVED WWC as did the whole family including my semi-stick-in -the-mud DH!!!

Just thought I would add this.

I love to dine at 1900 Park Faire. It is one of our favorites. LOVE the strawberry soup!! A couple of times within the last month, we have wanted to eat there and have been told they were fully booked. I got in both times. Here's the trick...

They open at 4:30PM. Be there at 4:15 at the door before they open. This is so you'll be one of the first in line. Then, after they open just ask host/hostess if they have any tables available. They more than likely will.

Either place you will have fun and great food. Enjoy!!

Blessings,
Winnie

If you had a confirmation number, I would ask to speak to a supervisor. That being said, I think they both sound like a lot of fun. :goodvibes

Thanks so much, I did forget to add that I have Whispering Canyon for another night...so they will get to do that one anyway.....I now have two nights of WC!

If you have a confirmation number, I would just show up at your scheduled time (Take your confirmation numbers with you to all restaurants and tours!!!) They will seat you.

This happened to us several times on different trips. We never call to check on our reservations after we make them, we just show up when they are supposed to be. Several times, they did not have our names in the system for a reservation. We showed them the confirmation numbers, and they apologized and seated us. They were definitely valid numbers, but for some reason they got cancelled without our consent or knowledge.

This also happened with a breakfast once at Crystal Palace (before opening, when we had to check in at the gate just to get into the park early). They didn't have our names on the list, but when we showed them the confirmation numbers, they fixed it.

If you have a confirmation number, I would try to call back and have them double check for you. If not, like the previous poster said, take your confirmation number with you! good luck!!

I called to cancel a reservation and they had reserved two names under the same confirmation number???? She couldn't figure out how that happened. I thought that was interesting. I hope that does not happen again.:confused3

Yeah, with so many people visiting the world at one time, it is very possible that someone with the same name will be there at the same time. It happened to us last October at LeCellier. Because of "double booking" by the same name, our ressie was cancelled!! Go figure, 2 telephone numbers, 2 different area codes, staying at 2 different resorts, and the ressie was cancelled. We did get to eat at LeCellier, they worked us in.

The OP's second dining reservation (1900 Park Fair) was probably canceled because of double booking. That was not the intent so don't jump down my throat.

For the OP - did you tell the second Cast Member you already had a reservation for that day and time and you wanted that one canceled if 1900 Park Fair was available? If you did, then yes, the Cast Member made a mistake. But if you didn't, the second Cast Member did not know to cancel the first one.

No accusations but just wondering how things were communicated.

I agree with olbear . WCC you have a great time there. Not that you would have fun at 1900 park fare it that you will have a better time at WCC.
It's good food & fun.

i took my 2 boys there 9 and 10 yrs old...it was our dd2 night for dinner and they LOVED it...they really liked the food and they liked seeing the prince.

Seriously this is why I NEVER ever call and ask about my reservations - I get the confirmation number and that is it.

I take it to the restaurant and it is their problem if they cannot find my reservation. And it has happened to me a few times -- twice at 1900.

I first give them my name and time and if they cannot find it I hand them the confirmation number. Usually that is enough for them - one time they looked back and told me some date it was cancelled on and I said "not by me." And I have always been seated.

But I am not one to call a zillion times and make changes either - -I usually call and make my ADRs or PS or whatever we are calling it this week - - and I am done. I may call and make additional ones but I do not reference the other ones in doing so. And I always use the same phone number for my reservations.

Is this to far out there...but whatever happen to just going to the restaurant and waiting the 15 or 30 mins or more before being seated. Is everyone on here that into adr's?We have yet to do a adr and have eaten at all the big places and at prime times(sometimes being seated as quick as 5 mins after being told minimum wait 45-60 mins.)My wife and I laugh all the time about people(have family that does) who do the 180 day adr just to cancel them prematurely or don't even show up.On xmas eve at 5:50 pm we showed up at the BC concierge desk and asked for the dinner ressie's for 4.The gentleman looked at us like we were crazy. His response is its xmas eve and no one has availbility.I said in return that this is Disney and its impossible that no place has an opening.Well we got ressies for the Blue Moon for a 7:00pm seating. Not bad for a place that even on this site people have said its a very good place with a romantic feel to it.We had a great time and wife still says best xmas eve dinner ever.
OP I say go to 1900 park fare and wait the time you might be pleasantly surprised.
BTW..yes we have the two little ones in tow with us each and everytime. They wait patiently because thats how we taught them.......not to be animals.:rotfl:
