Disappointed no inperson planning session - need help!

We have come to the decision that we will not be able to attend an in person planning session (which I was looking forward to) . I am starting a new job and do not think I will be able to take time off for the planning session and the wedding. Plus we can not afford two trips to Florida. So ladies I need your help. First of all for those of you who did a phone planning session can you tell me what I can expect? Will I get to speak with the florist, the DJ?

The menu...We are going to offer our guests a choice of three entrees (beef, chicken and fish) in the invitation and they will indicate their choice on the response card. Could you tell me what beef, chicken and fish entree's where your favorites? Also I would like a pasta for the appetizer, what were your favorites? Anything else I should be prepared for or questions I should ask?

We are going through the same thing. Our is in April and we won't be going down for a Planning Session.

Since we are having our reception at California Grill and can't have a tasting, the only thing we are missing is the cake tasting. We kinda knew what we wanted already...so choosing flavors wasn't an issue. We will be contract our florist soon and sending pics/emails to get the right colors/styles.

We wish we could go down, but think the money would be best spent on something during the wedding.

Even with an in person planning session, I still spent extra time on the phone with the florist and my WP. I have to tell you that I am florical challenged...I finally just trusted Laura Kidd and her judgement which is FLAWLESS!! I sent her a few basic flowers I wanted to include and then sent her a picture that indicated intensity of the colors for the photos. I didn't want flowers that overwhelmed the people in the pictures. Laura hit it right on. I think since you are not doing a planning session make sure that you have plenty of photographic examples and that you guys communicate really well. You will have a beautiful day even if you don't go down.

I am sure I can trust DIsney with everything. I was really looking forward to the planning session. Oh well.
