Disappointed in Photos - Update!

I actually liked the dancing photos!! I thought they were very natural and showed what a fun relationship you and DF must have!! I also think you got the best smiles in those pics.

I would take a group of photos you liked best, and a group of photos you liked least, decide what you like and don't like, and show them to Randy. Tell him what you do and don't like, and figure out a way to ensure you get more of the Do Like's for the wedding. Good luck!

Oh, my goodness! I am only through the first 65 or so and found 14 that are absolutely PERFECT!!! I can't get over how "hot" some of the shots are, really totally capturing the love and passion you guys have for each other and for life. I am so sorry you are disappointed, but if these were my DD20s engagement pix I'd think they were worth any price. I wonder how you will ultimately choose the best with so many wonderful options.

I had Randy do my E pics and I wasnt too happy with them either. I called him and told him my "issues" (my husbands eyes were only open in a few, not many smiling pictures we didnt look "in love") and he made sure that when my wedding came around that he would take care of everything. Sure enough all of my wedding pictures came out awesome! and you can see my husbands eyes lol! Keep the hope alive Randy will take care of you but if you dont tell him he wont know what to look for.

i just looked through them and LOVE your e-pics!! There are shots that i wish I had w/ Randy!! lol I would def talk to him though, he is extremely open and so sweet. He aims to please and will NOT take offense if you talk to him.

PS~~ i hated most of my epics at first as well...it took me about a month of seeing over 100 photos of me until i started LOVING them...now I can't wait until the wedding w/ Randy!!! ( i really think we're just not used to seeing ourselves in so many photos/poses)

Ok, there are a handful of your shots that i thought were absolutely gorgeous!

I hated my epics too when they first came out, but mine grew on my as well. you both looked so natural in all of the shots. you don't look stiff and posed. It looks like some one was stalking you both while you were on your honeymoon.

I have to agree with everyone else--i think they are beautiful. i think you look like you are having fun, very natural.

i would talk to Randy, I am sure he will do whatever you need to make them the best for you

So I wasn't sure yet that what I wanted to say to Randy about the photos but I needed to confirm my wedding date with him and thought it was rude that I still haven't responded, so I emailed him back and tried my best to say as little as possible about my disappointment (because I think its rude through email, and better to do over the phone) but Randy caught on and he was really nice about it. He wants to know my likes & dislikes and really wants my feedback. So I plan to really look through my photos and make some notes and let Randy know my opinions so that he can make adjustments to the wedding photos

He said that I actually have more photos coming that he did 225 or so that I'll get on the cd and that he may post more today. He wanted to get them up and out to me quick so that's why he didn't post all of them, I really appreciated this!

I wanted to tell you all this because I don't want to sound as though I'm completely unhappy with Randy and I don't want to discourage other brides from using him. I think he does awesome work and I swear everyone besides me loves the E photos

Also even though I'm not completely satisfied yet with my photos (i'm going to take everyone's advice and look at them again with a fresh perspective in a few days) Randy did alot for me. He rescheduled the shoot last minute and did not give me any grief, he was so sweet about it and completely understanding. He's also rushing my photos to me so I can get started on my save the dates. He also was patient with me as we waited to get my date with Disney and switched my deposit to my official date instead of the first date I gave him. He also wants to hear my feedback on these pictures. These are all things that even as a paying customer, he really doesn't have to do but does them but he's a great photographer. I really haven't considered switching photographers even though I'm not 100% and I'd still recommend Randy!

I'll update you as things progress but I just wanted to put that out there Once I have my favs picked out, I'll post them to get votes on which to use for the save the dates!

And yes I know I owe you guys a site visit report and a major update on my pj. I'm doing the dreaded room block so as soon as I get this done, I'll do a major update on my PJ!

i thought your photos are really nice. and i think we have been spoilt with all the favourites photos of the disbrides so it might have made you more critical. i can probably put money on that they have photos that they don't like.

at the end of the day you only need a few really nice shots, otherwise you would need one mother of a photoalbum!

I thought your pictures were very nice!!! And yes, we are our own worst critic!!!

For what its worth, you may find that one special shot in the pictures that he sends you that weren't posted. Of our intimate we had about a 1000 shots, and only 300 were posted on his site. And in my opinion, they didn't even post our best pictures. When we got our CDs and proofs, they had the 'OH MY GOD' shots in there that just took my breath.

And yes, Randy is very open to wanting to know what kind of shots that you want. He and I talked in the room before the wedding about what I was comfortable with and what I wasn't.

Jackie I just saw this thread and I had to comment. I recently had my e-pics taken with Randy (July) on the beach at the Poly and when I got them I was at first a little disappointed because all I could focus on is all the negative things. I didn't like my hair and my DF didn't like the shirt he was wearing because in his words "they show my gut" but after we looked through them a couple more times we finally we started looking at the whole picture and not the things that were bothering us and now we love our pictures and are extremely happy with them and Randy! We are very excited to have Randy doing our wedding pictures next December!

I just went through your pictures and I must say your pictures are beautiful!!! You and your DF look so happy and in love and I love the outfits you wore! The pictures by the waterfall and on the hammock are my favorites! Oh and the one where you are looking at him over the railing on the dock!

i have to say when i received my epics o cried for 2 days that they were horrible. i think it is just that we are more critical of ourselves.
