Disappointed in American Eagle Online

Ordered 5 pairs of jeans from AE Online on Dec. 14th. They were offering $10 off per pair. Within the next 24-48 hours, they started a 40% off sale. I called to see if they could credit my account back the difference in the new promotion and they would not do it. The price difference is $31. This would cover another pair of jeans but they won't give me any kind of credit. Most places happily adjust the prices within a certain amount of time. The order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow and I'm thinking of refusing the shipment and just getting my money back. Anyone have any experience wiith AE customer service? Should I try to call again tomorrow?
 
Do you have an American Eagle nearby? You can return online purchases to an actual store. I would probably buy the same stuff at the 40% price now, and return the first purchase when it shows up.

ETA: This probably doesn't help if you are trying to get your purchases by Christmas.
 
Do you have an AE store near you? Just return them to the store and re-purchase them. I do it all the time. In fact, I just did it yesterday.

I had bought a pair of jeans full price and then 2 days later they started the 40% off sale so I "exchanged" the jeans and got the 40% off. They have no problem with doing that But its completely differnet than doing it online.

If you havent gotten them yet, I second what the PP said. Just go and buy a pair with the 40% discount and return the ones that you ordered when you get them.
 
Hope you can get a price adjustment, but like the other posters have stated, you'll probably have to go to their store to get it done.

I can tell you that I won't order from AE online again. I placed an order on 11-28 and it just got here last week. I've never had a problem with receiving orders from Aeropostale, Hollister or Abercrombie, so after my experience with AE, I'll just make purchases from them in the store. And from AE's Facebook page, I was able to read MANY other customer complaints, so I was definitely not alone in the delayed shipping. Fool me once....

I'm nöt crazy about ordering from them either. My biggest complaint is their cheap UPS/USPS shipping crap. It totally stinks. I also placed a huge order with them on Black Friday and it took until December 6 for it to arrive with this shipping.

I have to say, I've never had a problem with their shipping. I've always had stuff arrive within the time stated for which shipping method I chose. Maybe I've just been lucky with them but they are basically the only place I shop.
 
I guess I have been super lucky with shipping too because my stuff always arrives pretty quickly. I've never tried a price adjustment that I recall but most times I have received my order before I've even gotten the notice that it was shipped so I have no complaints in that area. I like ordering online since the closest AE (actually the closest of any mall shopping) is a good 45 minutes from me. I would purchase at the 40% off and return the online order whenever it arrives.
