my aunt lives in indiana on a lake and the national guard had to come get them out of their house in boats because heavy rains there flooded the whole area. they think their house is probably totaled and they won't get to look at it for another 2 weeks they say. crazy weather!

Thanks for the good thoughts for Phoebe...Dr. had a hard time finding the source of the licking and fussing. But eventually found a small red "scratch". I have no idea how she got it but I can think of a million possibilities. Dr. wasn't too concerned about it, sent me home with some topical spray and orders to watch it and not let her lick it so it can heal. Just glad that it isn't anything super serious.

I'm on facebook too! I just love it...much better (IMO) than myspace. Although myspace has made some changes recently, it looks like. I wasn't ever that big into using myspace even though I had one, but once I got a facebook, I never went back to my myspace again!

Today is my mom's birthday so I got her 1 slice each of her 2 favorite cakes from a local deli. I figure we can cut them down the middle and both only eat one slice - without the temptation of a huge leftover cake Ugh and I had a picture of us framed that was an odd shape - sort of panoramic but not that long. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and today I called and it still was not ready. My mom won't care but still it is annoying because one of her gifts won't be there tonight.

thanks. they're fine, but their house is not. she's actually my dad's cousin. i call her my aunt because it's just weird for me to call her a cousin - she's more like an aunt. anyway, i don't talk to her that much. he talks to her all the time and the last i heard they were fine, but they weren't sure if the house was totaled - they think it is.

I get so nervous taking her to the Vet, even for a regular check up...it is freakish how attached I am to Phoebe. She was "attacked" by our neighbor's 2 german shepherds 2 years ago, and the Vet wanted to do some minor surgery to clean/stitch the wounds and make sure they didn't need drains or anything. He said that since she was already going under, she should have her teeth cleaned so we went for it. Phoebe has been under twice now (and I hope never again) - once for this and the other when she was spayed.

After she was spayed the Vet told us that she will probably be lethargic, sleeping a lot, etc. Typical "I just had surgery behavior". Well the tech opened the exam room door and in flew Phoebe, jumped up on us, wiggled in circles - the total opposite of what anyone would expect. What a nut.

Hi. Gina, Congratulations! I'm very happy for you.

Well, I did it. I rejoined South Beach on-line.

So much going on that has made me re-evaluate my life.

In a nut shell:

DH has been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and will be having an operation very soon to remove the kidney. He has a solid mass 9cm tumor on his right kidney.

It's been crazy over here.

I can't let crazy spin me more out of control cause I can see it happening.

So I am taking control now.

If you don't see me posting, pm me and demand me back.

Hey Peeps!

Been a Super Busy Weekend. My Bridal Shower was yesterday! My mom did an EXCELLENT job, she did a Disney Themed Shower. There were the cutest Minnie's ears, Minnie Shoes and Minnies Pocketbook as Centerpieces! She gave away the cutest authentic WDW souveniors such as Mickey backscratchers, Mickey Bottle Opener, Mickey Salt and Pepper Shaker, Mickey Timers, Mickey Measuring Cups as Prizes!!! We played the Toilet Paper Bride game and the winner got the movie Enchanted on DVD!

I cant believe how many gifts I got!!!! My parents basement is filled with stuff! and I cant believe how many Disney style Gifts I got..I even got the Swarzoski Mickey Mouse soo beautiful!!! It was so amazing how generous everybody was.

Marriage proposals, wedding showers, people on the mend oh my!

It's nice to read about the happy things.

Right now we have been without power for 21 hours. But six houses down they have power!!!!: The "almost" tornado wipped out our power and phone lines. Just got the phone lines back.

The neighbor hooked us up to his generator so my fridge is saved! there is no fix in sight and more storms are on their way.

Tim ran out as the storm was racing toward us to tell the lady cutting her grass to get in her house and when he was running back a huge limb from a neighbor's dead tree feel right in front of him!

Day 2 and doing great on South Beach cause it's the one diet that works for me and makes me skinny and happy.

And my sanity.

There's so much I missed over here but I tried to go back and maybe I confused a name or two.

Oh, and THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR THOUGHTS, PRAYERS, WISHES, PHONE CALLS, AND EMAILS. I am so gratful that he is being prayed for by so many wonderful people. Gosh I just love you all.

Monica: Sorry to hear about your DH. Hope the surgery is successful. I can sympathize with you on the power outage. Glad you all are safe. In 1993- el nino or "whoever" left 13 inches of snow- yes, i said snow- on my southern home. we live in a rural area and were without power for 5 days. i was very grouchy after the first one- so you can imagine how i was by the fifth. But most importantly you are all ok.

Pheobe: Glad you are well. I took my 2 outside dogs to the vet for their yearly visit- when they asked me what I wanted I said "the works"- we only go once a year- So for $346 total- we got "the works" My little sparky (austrailian shepard mix) had only gained 5 pounds in 2 years- wish that were me- she weighed in at 40 pounds- and my very large bandit (we think- st. benard/mastif mix) weighed in at 95 pounds with 1 foot off the scale- he is still a puppy- only 2 years old-

Peeps: wish i could say that i have been doing well on the weight myself- but I have gained 2 since i weighed in with you all last....

After a horrible weekend I finally ate last night and feel worlds better.
Except we went to a Chinese Gourmet buffet. I must say, it was not very good, so I stuck with salad. This after NO appetite all weekend.

Monica- I'm really happy for you taking control! It'd be easy to turn to comforting foods right now. Tim is in our prayers!

Sparkie- thank goodness it's only 2 pounds! You can do it, sistah!

LMO- MY skinny jeans are reeeeeally out of style ( Size 9/10 in 2002!)
When it's hot like that, I want fruit or smoothies.

It was 102 here yesterday... and I went and played ice hockey.

Supposed to "cool" down today and only be 98. Rest of the week is down to low 90s...

LMO - We went the traditional route with the music. Here Comes the Bride, Cannon in D, etc. I wanted "Fluff" by Black Sabbath (which is actaully a very nice instrumental piece) while people were being seated, but my wife nixed that one pretty quick

Gina - congrats on the engagement!

DisneyGalUK - I'm not sure if my wife completed the "old, new, borrowed, blue" thing. Her dress was new, and it had blue accents on it. And she wore and old necklace, so the only thing I'm not sure about is the borrowed.

I had a bunch of old skinny jeans downstairs in my mom's basement. I have been staying in staten island at my parents house during this heat wave, i love nyc but when its this hot i rather be anyplace else...at least here i have a pool in the backyard..anyway back to jeans the ones that i have been saving forever to wear finally fit..but you are right they are so out of style..i put them in a bin for the salvation army.

I know, isn't that crazy!?! I would have never imagined that we'd get so much rain that it would actually cause a lake to drain itself. We lucked out and avoided most of the big storms when we were there. We got some thunderstorms Wednesday night (I think), but we were already safe and sound in our room after seeing the Tommy Bartlett show that night (which is performed on Lake Delton). We hit the water park Thursday when the weather was clear (although the water was ice cold, so we just stuck to the indoor portion of the water park anyway). And the drive home Friday afternoon was mostly dry. So I guess we timed everything pretty well.

We're going for July 4th this time around. I've got you down for five!

Good Morning Peeps!

This morning I have to take my Phoebe to the Vet. She has been licking the top of her paw for over a week now and won't let us go near it. I did catch a little peek through her black fur and it looks red/irritated. My mom said she felt a bump but I think that it's just her normal bony-ness. I get so nervous that it will be something serious...my cat had this weird non-cancerous growth on her neck and it was disgusting and just kept getting bigger and bigger, and then she must have scratched it and it bled and looked just . Sorry TMI. Anyway, wish me (and her) luck today!

Ok peeps. I have strep throat which is kind of good because even drinking water hurts. I called my doctor and they are calling me in something. My DS6 had it last week so I am positive that's what I have. I did not go to WW today to weigh in so I don't infect anyone. I have been watching the news about the storms hope everyone is doing well. Monica glad you finally got power after 41 hours . The boys had no school today due to it being too hot. The last two days have been very hot for this time of year so everyone is panicing (is that a word ????) Hope all is well. Talk to you guys tomorrow. Trying to think what I can eat for dinner that I can swallow. Aaron - welcome home.

I just got back from Lane Bryant due to the fact that I can't cinch my
pants any tighter and NOTHING I own fits...

the 14/16's fit LOOSE! "Every-body Dance Now!"....


I got these jeans that are for us curvy gals (small waste in comparison to the rear end area) and they fit sooooo nice! YAY! They are size 1 as in ONE...they have a funky new jeans sizing system. (I'd like to think 14 is the new 1 )

I only got 2 pair thinking I can shrink them a little since they are cotton. 1 jeans and 1 cropped denim trouser-cut freakin' cool pants.

Can y'all tell I haven't shopped since I was an 18?
