DISappearing PEEPS Volume 2

Good morning all! :)
I am sitting here trying to think of a "good" breakfast. I try to stay around 200-300 calories for the morning. Usually soup or a fiber one bar. Sometimes a "wrap" (flat bread with fiber and diet mayo and ham and cheese) for 275 calories, it's pretty good. Mmmm, I remember that I found some flaxseed waffles at WalMart, apple cinnamon flavored, 70 calories each....sounds like that might be a plan. With some sugar free syrup, that ought to be good. Sounds good anyway....I have yet to taste these "not bad for you" waffles. 4 grams protien, 4 grams fiber, AND some omega 3's thrown in. (? omega 3's ?) The box says, "so delicious-you won't believe they're nutritous". Well, I'll let y'all know!

I had a decent night last night, but not as originally planned. I worked late then spent an hour on the phone with the cable company. It was 930 and I didn't want to spend an hour exercising so I just did a mile on the treadmill. Dinner was supposed to be leftover meatloaf but I just wanted something quick and easy so I went with ramen. Not really nutritious but not too heavy on the calories either. Plus I had a fruit salad earlier in the day and got in some nutritional content.

Not sure what the plan is for tonight. My arms finally started to hurt from Monday's workout so I might do the lower body segment and save arms for tomorrow plus a mile on the treadie. All this depends on dh's cooperation. Sometimes he's great about it, other days he doesn't want me to spend time apart from him.

On a good note, I'm wearing a sweater I bought several years ago but barely ever wore since it didn't fit well. Perhaps I also am getting less self conscious about wearing things that don't hide my size.

Good Morning everyone!
so..i am keeping my promis so far and went to curves yesterday..today is Kettlebell / Walk away the pounds day at home after work..yay :)
I have been pretty good with the food..but yesterday we did go to the olive garden ( we had gift certificates to use and i didn't feel like cleaning up after a dinner lol)..i chose the 3 item sampler..calamari, mushrooms and raviolli..but i only ate about 1/2 so i have the rest for lunch.
breakfast today will be a Vitatop muffin and a coffee..so i think it might balance out ok ;)
Have a nice day everyone..OH did we ever hear who won the "WEIGH OFF" last week??

Hey Peeps!

I am PMSing big time!!! Today has been a struggle to eat good when I basically have been thinking about food all day. Yesterday I had a battle with steamed veggie dumplings, general tso chicken, wonton soup and an egg..they all won!!!!! I will be happy if this week I am a samer!!!

My new thing is NOT kicking myself when I eat bad, I feel this way it does not lead into a full fledge binge. Whatever I ate some chinese food, it was good!..this morning I just woke up, worked out and looked forward

Me too girl. I should be expecting AF to pop in this weekend sometime. I love General Tso chicken. Hang in there one day is not going to break ya.

Good morning all! :)

Good girl. I love the Olive Garden. Their salad is the best tossed salad I have ever eaten. Do you like those muffins, someone else at WW were talking about those and everyone knows the muffin top is the best right. I didn't hear who won the weigh off last week. Has anyone heard from UM? She wasn't on yesterday at all.

WENDEEEEEEEEEEEE - Where are you?

Hello All! Well the waffles were good, just very small. I can see why they were only 70 calories each! Still, breakfast was only
160 calories.
Well, this is off topic...(if there is even a topic to my rambling). But I need to vent a little. DH and I own our own Landscaping business here in Florida....we had been worried about the gas prices going up and up and up. But now we have other worries. It seems our main customers have declined to renew thier national contract with the company we subcontracted for here locally, and we got a nice "Thank you for good service blah blah blah, invoking 30 day cancellation clause to end contract."
By the time we received the certified letter, it is more of a 2 week notice, ending this month. 41 banks.....gone with the wind. MAJOR portion of our business. The economic downturn has finally hit our pocketbook in a hard way. Definite downsizing ahead.

The upside? Not so worried about high gas prices anymore!

All I can think of, is that if we have to endure some hard times, I am very grateful that it is just monetary, (just?) and that we all are in good health, and able to work hard. DH had severe pneumonia several years ago, and that was a hard thing to go through.
Still....I feel stress city looming on the horizon, dead ahead. Must---- stay---- focused----chocolate is NOT a stress reliever!
Here's to hoping everyone else is having a better day than me!!

Welcome back, YOU! I'm really glad you're back!

My new treat is a rice cake....Chocolate peanut butter! 60 calories a piece (I eat 2 ;) )

I have a deep waffle maker. I'll have to search for a healthier batter recipe or modify mine.

Does anyone have a very healthy waffle batter recipe?

Did we ever find out who won the challenge? :confused3 Is it safe to assume we kicked their bums?

Laura- Sorry! I had the pinewood derby for scouts yesterday and have been super busy. My son Riley placed 2nd! He took 2nd after finishing a 100th of a second behind the first place car! :sad2:

Where's that Dizzy Dawn???? Got catalogues in the mail yesterday! :cool1:
So I'm officially the hostess with the mostess

Where is everyone???

Monica--how are the kids?

Melinda--you doing ok? Just have not seen you around much.

This is a busy week. I am ready for this weekend to get a break.

I try to keep my breakfast at 100 cals or less, but I am a nut.

An idea... a psuedo egg-mcmuffin... 1/4 cup egg beaters nuked in a micro-safe bowl (spray w/ pam first to make it come out easy), sprinkle w/ 2% shredded cheese, put on 100 cal english muffin. You can add canadian bacon or real bacon (40% reduced fat is 25-30 cals a slice).

I also like the eggo special k red berries waffles. 80 cals each and yumminess.

If you really have time, you could make an omelette w/ egg beaters and fill it up w/ veggies and meats. 1/2 cup egg beaters is like 60 cals so you have plenty of room for good stuff.

Olive Garden can be done on the healthy side. They have a selection of entrees that are under 500 cals (have a little green thing next to them). I usually get the linguini alla marinara for lunch (330 or so). You can get the salad w/ reduced fat (or fat free, can't remember) dressing that is only about 25 cals in 2 Tbsp. One breadstick is about 160 cals I think. They have all the info on their website.

Hockey Kat? Are you starving come lunch time considering your breakfast is only 100 calories?

Hi all...so you can hang me and beat me but I really could not help getting to you before today....I helped Grumps move this past weekend from Omaha to Mpls (6 plus hours each way)and they dissconnected his home internet 3 days early!:scared1:
So we arrived Friday sans computer and packed and planned on leaving Monday...but Grumps got sick...litterally vommiting from Sat am to Sat pm and so we got pushed back a full day and did not arrive until yesterday back in Mpls.

Then last night I had my Easter w/ my family and today was mandatory work mtgs until right now...

sooooo I will get to reading...add up losses and gains....and post our tally from last week and find out the newest soap opera update!!!

I am very sorry but this was a time when good intentions paved the way and reality took over....what do you expect for some pro bono work!!!;)

Sometimes... I usually eat breakfast at about 9AM and work out from 11:30-1PM, then eat lunch around 1:30 at my desk.

I have been eating 1/2 cup fiber one + 1/4 cup milk (about 80 cals in the whole thing), and having my coffee, and that seems to stick with me more than a higher calorie lower fiber b-fast.

Right now I am eating strawberries right at that perfect point of ripeness... dark red and oozing juice when I bite in, but not yet at the mushy stage. Yumm. :goodvibes

For those of you who don't know...she just won a 4-night Cruise! Way to go!

HEY! CONGRATS on the Cruise!

For those of you who don't know...she just won a 4-night Cruise! Way to go!

Thank you so much!!! I am still shocked and so appreciative of what happened!! its so crazy! I still cant get over it!

Congrats on the cruise!!

I get to work around 9:30, take a longer lunch, then am here until 7 or so. I wish I were more of a morning person and could get up and work out before work (and get it the heck over with!), but it is all I can do to get up in time to make it to work.

It is also nice to get out for lunch, because usually by 11:30 I am already stressed out (yes, it only takes two hours! ).

Oh, and you asked if I was starving... the answer to that question is that I am usually hungry. I keep my calories to 1200. I have just learned to ignore the hunger and focus on what it is doing for my body. I eat healthier, my skin is better, I have more energy, and I sleep better. Oh yeah, and that thinner thing. :)

Sorry to hear about that. My DH is self employed (he's a carpenter) and this winter he didn't know if he was going to be working at all which is scary because I don't either (Stay at home mom for the time being). He was waiting and waiting to hear from the guy he subcontracts with if he got a big job and guess what he did. He know has work until Dec of this year. It will work out you'll see.

Oh chocolate peanut butter rice cake where did you ever find those. Oh don't be sorry for being busy with life. I just thought it was unusual not to hear from you. Melinda too she must be busy too. Hi Mel:wave:

Where is everyone???

Monica--how are the kids?

Melinda--you doing ok? Just have not seen you around much.

This is a busy week. I am ready for this weekend to get a break.

Heather we have tomorrow off for Good Friday so the kids will be off for three days. Then in a couple of weeks is Spring break. I am so ready to sleep a little later even if it's just to 8.

Don't be sorry, sometime real life gets in the way of DISing :confused3

I now just ruined my keyboard with the drool. I love my strawberries like that. PERFECT.

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE :cool1:
I'm so looking forward to warmer weather.

Oh and I finally was able to watch Enchanted. I love it. It was so cute. I loved how they had animation and real people. Susan Serandon was excellent. Of course McDreamy too. The girl who played Giselle was very good too, I know her first name is Amy but drawing a blank to her last name. Even my boys watched it with me.

Hello everyone!
DISNEYLAURA: Yes, being a subcontractor has it's good times and it's bad. Yay for your DH! It feels really good to know when the work is there...instead of just crossing your fingers and praying. At least it's going into summertime for us when it happened, the grass (and weeds) are growing, which always makes the phone ring. *sigh* Those were good accounts though.....I'm a stay at home mom to, and also the "girl friday" (does anyone use that term anymore?) any office stuff is mine to deal with.

Well, breakfast so far has been half of a wrap, only 125 calories. I'm trying to save up some calories because I am making mini cupcakes this afternoon for DS8's Easter party at school tomorrow. :scared1: Have I mentioned here before how much I LOVE sweets? Torture....but you gotta do what you gotta do. I didn't pick cupcakes to bring, it was on the form DS brought home. The plan is to make them, seal them up, and stash them in the truck overnight. Wish me luck peeps on the restraint I'll need for later.

Hope everyone is having a skinny day....

I also wanted to say Thank You for all the welcome backs. :flower3: :upsidedow :lovestruc Peeps are great!

I had the pinewood derby for scouts yesterday and have been super busy. My son Riley placed 2nd! He took 2nd after finishing a 100th of a second behind the first place car! :sad2:
I'm quick skimming this morning before a 9:00 am meeting, but this caught my eye. Probably my biggest claim to fame as a kid was winning our local pinewood derby and coming in 3rd at our regional competition. Although, my dad is an engineer so he made sure that thing was aerodynamic, well balanced, and almost frictionless. I just came up with the basic design, painted it and put some decals on. Wait, my dad painted it too. But I did put a few decals on. That counts for something, right?

Have a great day everyone. Weigh in tomorrow! (And so far, it is NOT looking pretty... :scared1: )

Yay! The dad's were really into it! My dh already has plans for next year's improvements

Riley is reeeeally proud. Dallen, who didn't place, is sticking to the "in it to have fun" thing. :flower3:

The chocolate chip peanut butter rice cakes are at my Walmart and they're by Quaker. Very yummy and NON-plain.

Well you have all of today to make some great food choices to impact tomorrow's weigh in.

Did the winner ever get posted? I didn't see. :snooty:
