:worship: Melinda !! AWESOME Summary!! Thankyou Thankyou thankyou! (and I'll just say - "DITTO"!!)

Mistywhat a beautiful dancer! Hope she continues (I wish my dd would get back into dance!)

Lynda Curious how you're doing!

Bridgettemeant to try and give you a ring!

Bee

Just watched Bridge to Terabithia (sp) and lets jsut say I cried like a baby. I usually do not cry, but I guess when you loose a childhood friend it makes everything different when you watch shows about that.

Have a good night everyone.

I cried so hard when I read the book YEARS ago - I am not going near that movie!! (It could be because my childhood friend died - childhood disease, I was blessed her mom included me in the vigil, and was there when she passed) My dd prides herself in NOT crying - but when she's close to tears - she watches me so she laugh at me for crying!! She came back teary eyed from Teribithia, she claims she didnt cry... (one of her classmates died from her first grade class - ) Life's hard...

Mothers of Daughters....How do you raise daughters? I'm watching dd change before my very eyes... :scared1: I told dh he MUST spend more quality time with her!

There's a birthday here today!

Must go pick up a cake... wrap presents... think of sides for dinner (filet mignon and wine... and Rosa Regale the Champagne you can get at Epcot - the red stuff!!)

Everybody's still asleep here (cept dh, the birthday boy - he's up and out to teach adult Scouts) guess I'd better get crackin!!

Have you done your exercise today????

YOU CAN DO IT>>>

SUCK IT UP, and SUCK IT IN!! :wizard:

Just hang onto that ribbon. Don't let the fair food take it away from you.:cutie:

Well, I didn't do too badly. I told myself only one dessert item, and I stuck to that. I had half a "taco in a bowl" and half a ribeye sandwich (not too bad). Then I had a few small bites of a pulled pork bbq sandwich DH got. He didn't like it, so I had to see for myself. He was pretty much right. Not worth it. Then, I had a frozen lemon custard cone. (That was worth it!) Oh, and I had a few drinks of what was supposed to be a strawberry shakeup, but was more like sugar water!:scared: We gave the rest of it to my mom. SO, all in all, it could have been much worse! And this morning, I had some granola cereal, so I'm right back on track! :thumbsup2 I will be having cheat day on Sunday as usual, but I think one of my meals will be sushi, so that will help. Sunday is our only chance to go to 'Taste of Champaign' (like our local version of 'Taste of Chicago' Sandy), but I think we might be done with fairs & festivals for the rest of the season after that. Not sure if we'll hit any other area fairs this year or not. Not in the plans at this point anyway.

And the evening certainly wore Jasper out! She is SNORING right now in the kitchen so loudly that I can hear her in the living room. :rotfl:

SHOW OFF!!!! ;)

Well, I am actually not too confident about keeping the number. I weighed the day before, and the number wasn't that good. It was OK, but I think there was at least a 2-lb loss from just the day before, and after that 12-lb mystery loss/gain, I'm not getting too excited until it sticks around for a while. Besides, I still have another pound to lose to get back to pre-WDW weight! :scared1: :rotfl: But, we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks. I am getting back on the exercise wagon. I actually rode my bike the other night with dead batteries in it. (no resistance) But I did it anyway because I knew I needed to do something. AND I pumped up my balance ball because it had deflated a bit while we were gone. I'll get new batteries for the bike, and I should be back to regular exercise this coming week. (Assuming I can get the pictures from last weekends wedding done today instead of DISing the whole day. )

SHE'S BACK!!!

My baby is back safe and sound! 24 hours past due....but she's here!

The only thing harder than letting her go was waiting for her to get back home safely.

Heavy sigh.

Now watching School of Rock with DS.

And for those about to rock....I salute you.

Heh.

YAY! Welcome home Mimi! And tell her I am anxious to see those pictures!

my DD danced tonight at our city festival and almost had to do a solo (which she would have loved) out of at least 10 girls 2 only showed but she rocked (had to share that with ya'll)
picturesect018jayedynedit.jpg
well goodnight all.

What a pretty girl! princess: And what pretty roses too! :goodvibes

:yay: :yay: :yay: LYNDA! Good job! When is your endoscopy? I thought you said on a Friday?

My new best friend is the Kraft Lite 3-Cheese Ranch. Celerystalker told us about it and she was right! Very good!

OK, first...I want to ditto everything Melinda said too! What a great summary you did this morning! I love reading your morning posts! ;)

And my endoscopy is this coming Friday the 29th. It's at 9am, and I can't eat after midnight that morning. I can have clear liquids until 5am (like I'm gonna be up that early just to have a drink :confused3 ). I am told I won't remember a thing, and it will take half a day to recover. I don't really know what to expect, but I wouldn't count on me checking in here later that day. I might be really loopy. Who knows? I've never been IV sedated before, I don't think. But I'll let you all know how it goes as soon as I can. :)

And you're right! That dressing is good! :thumbsup2 Their raspberry vinegrette is good too!

OK, I started to post something yesterday, but ran out of time, so I saved it, so I'm off to see if I can find that now.

Lynda Curious how you're doing!

Hey! I'm good. I pretty much got right back on the wagon following our WDW trip, but haven't had much posting time. :sad2: Work has been crazy! And I've been working all week on the pictures I took at that wedding last weekend. (Well, when I've had time, that is.) She was a co-worker, and her photographer had a time limit so I took pictures for her while she was getting ready. She comes back to work Tuesday, but I'd like to get her pictures finished and on CD today. The other people at work have been asking about them, and if I can take it to work on Monday, they can see them then. And I won't have to worry about it anymore. :thumbsup2 My house is also a mess because my mom couldn't clean this past week because of the fair. (She is still heavily involved with it. DH left the Fair board and our talent show director post a couple of years ago due to time contraints.) We have lots of little trip plans in the works for the summer. (Six Flags in a couple weeks, Indy at some point, Chicago mini peep meet ;) , Cedar Point, maybe Great America or Lousiville Six Flags too.) And July 28th is when my friend's wedding is that I am photographing! That will be here before I know it! So, I am busy, but I am good. I wish I didn't have to work full time, so I could have more time to work on the photography (and DIS  ), but that's not an option right now. I am good though. I  summer, and I am making the most of this one! :)

Hello or should i say good morning since it is midnight here posting weight loss for threadmama (even though i already told her Down 2 pds love the summer i am more active and tend to loose weight ..

well goodnight all.

Oh my goodness your puppy is so adorable. We had a cocker named Lacey who looked just like that. My husband got her for me the Christmas before we married and we lost her a few years ago. We have 2 more cocker spaniels now.

Have a great day and by the way, I love your name:)

Lynda-Great job on the weight loss and getting the bling back! Enjoy the fair (4-H?)!!

Well, yes and no. It is a county fair, and there is a 4-H fair going on there as well. If that makes any sense?

And I just went back and read some of these surveys (from when I was in WDW), and that was so informative! Love it! So I'm posting mine now too. ;)

Ok Peeps...I know we have all done these silly things via email but I thought it might be a way to spice up this SLOW board!!! :headache: Plus, I still don't know many of my Peeps names!

1. Name Lynda

2. Favorite food seafood (lobster, crab, sushi, fish, shrimp, you name it!) and ice cream (particularly Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone Creamery)

3. Fav movie of all time Tough one! Lilo & Stitch (and other Disney animated movies), Dirty Dancing and Shag, and anything with Audrey Hepburn in it (especially Sabrina and Roman Holiday)

4. Fav TV show of all time Friends and Laverne & Shirley

5. Biggest Pet Peeve People who interrupt

6. Fav WDW ride PoTC, but I also LOVE ToT andd EE

7. First WDW trip 1981, when I was 7

8. Fav WDW hotel Beach Club!

9. Your kids names (or future kids names?) I like Audrey for a girl. (The end of my mom's name is the same as the beginning of mine - Evelyn, Lynda, so I want to continue the chain, and I love Audrey Hepburn. :rotfl: ) No idea about boys. But nothing that rhymes with our last name, which rules out a lot of names for boys, like Shane, Blain, Lane, etc.

10. Fav WDW TS That's tough too. I love O'Hana breakfast, Narcoossee's, and Sci-Fi

11. Fav WDW CS Hmm, I like Seasons, Flametree, Backlot Express

12. Fav magazine Used to be Disney magazine 'til they stopped printing it. :headache: Now I read girlie magazines and photography magazines when I have time.

13. Best advice you have given This is tough because I've given a lot of advice over the years. My friends tend to come to me looking for it for some reason. :confused3 I guess the best would be don't count on other people to make you happy. You have to make yourself happy! If there is something about your life that you don't like, make an effort to change it for the better.

14. Best personality trait honesty and I think I'm a good friend - listen, like to laugh, have fun, etc.

15. Best physical trait Hair and eyes

16. Age of your first "real" kiss & what was his/her name UH...19! And Chris, who turned out to be a creep!

17. Goal for the next year Get the photography business up and running on a part time basis. (Get a website set up for the business, get a sample book put together, make up business cards, determine what I am going to charge, and start doing so!) Lose the rest of the weight (about 60 lbs, I think) and get into a size 14, or possibly 12!

18. Goal for the next 5 years Maintain the weight loss, turn the photography business into a full time gig, possibly make the move to Florida, and maybe start having kids. Also, travel to DL & maybe some of the overseas Disney parks if DH's first plane ride in January goes well! :thumbsup2

19. Fav season SUMMER! LOVE IT! I will also take late spring. I love warm weather, being outside, cooking out, swimming, the beach, amusement parks, walking the dog, fairs/festivals, etc., etc.

20. Something someone would be surprised to know about you That I used to crew for a hot air balloon team at a weekend-long race event they used to hold here locally once a year. I did it for 9 years, I think, before they cancelled the event. (It was sponsored by Oldsmobile, and when they went out of business, no one else picked it up. :sad2: A shame because it was one of the biggest hot air ballooning events out there at the time, with over 100 balloons.) I believe I got to go up in the balloon 3 or 4 times! Amazing! (Melinda, I see you have ridden before too! Very cool!)

Ok..kinda boring but should give us something to do for a day or two! princess:

Not boring at all! I learned a lot of nifty stuff about my fellow Peeps! I liked it a lot! :) Thanks for posting it!

well goodnight all.

She is precious. What a pretty smile. I love the little girl missing tooth smile, I really do. :goodvibes They grow up so fast.

lexmelinda;19349773:welcome: I hope you will make yourself at home here. Post often so we can get to know you. People are using lots of different methods to lose weight but the common thread here seems to be water and fiber....and lots of it. [URL="http://caloriequeens.com/index.php?section=concept" said:
Here is the formula I used.[/URL] Glad you're here!

Thank you, I checked out that site and I think I the calorie count will work best for me. It makes sense that I have to learn to eat at the calorie amount of the weight I want to maintain.

But I'll let you all know how it goes as soon as I can. :)

I hope that goes well for you.

I drug myself out of bed this morning and went to the gym for a 30 minute workout. I had a snack bag of popcorn for lunch and an apple for breakfast. Tonight we are going out to eat with my sister and her husband. I'm going to try to behave, but the food in that place is wonderful. I'm going to try to order an appetizer for my entree, but if I can't muster the willpower to do that I may try the suggestion I read here to order a doggie bag as soon as the meal comes. I'll report my success or failure tomorrow.

And good luck with your food choices tonight!

Wow! I am so behind just from not being on the last couple days! Yeowza! I don't know what I will do when we go away!! ;)

This is sooo scary! My DBF it telling me how we aren't going on ToT or Space Mountain now! He is such a fraidy cat! Dammit! And our friend (DBF's roommate) told us this happened at the 6 Flags close by us! It freaked me out a lot more because our Superman is a rollercoaster so I even got scared! I feel so awful for that poor girl! My prayers have been with her!

yep...i'm a shorty. i'm used to it, though. i was so excited at WDW because donald and daisy duck were actually shorter than me! :) i'm 5'3", but my sister is 5'9" and my brother is 6'5". i definitely got the short end of the stick....get it???? :lmao:

I am a shorty too! Except for my family is too! lol! I am 5'2" and my mom is the same... my dad is 5'10"- my brother in law and DBF always tease!! ;)

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.

Always room for more! :wave2:

Do we need an EXERCISE CHALLENGE

Ok - its the weekend, I've for sure fallen off the wagon.... I pledge to do 100 ab crunches each day - and report on Monday... 100 side widdlers... and 100 back arm raises...

who's with me?
Just remember the quote from Bob Greene on Oprah:

"IF you dont commit to the exercise then you DONT want to lose weight"

I don't know what an Exercise Challenge is but I love it! And I wish I had read this earlier- I will def do crunches, side crunches and all tonight and tomorrow! :goodvibes

Attention Experts!

I'm trying to schedule our park days & such and wanted to know how many times should I plan to visit each park. (for example- I don't want to have too many days planned for MGM and not enough at AK.) We will be there 11 days & this is what I have so far:

Day 1: Arrive in the afternoon, check-in, & go to MK
Day 2: Morning- DTD (to buy candy to send home to family for Christmas)
Evening- MVMCP
Day 11: Morning- MK before heading home

Each day we plan to visit a park in the morning, eat lunch around 11, go back to the room and rest before getting ready to leave around 5 each evening & then we will go to a park for a little while before calling it a day

I guess what I'm basically wanting to know is where you (if you had to choose) would spend your evenings at, and I'm guessing that it would be mostly Epcot or MK.

Sorry to confuse any of you. :confused3 I'm so stressed right now trying to get days scheduled so that I can make our ADRs. We are 176 days out now.

I highly recommend TourGuideMike.com or *****************... I paid for TGM and made our entire itinerary- there are banner links on the Dis often and you can get the service for only $18.95 when you click from there. It has SOOO much information, along with recommendations for ADRs (I had picked ours already, however) and what parks to avoid each day and such. I think it will really help us get around crowds and such. Also, I have just been checking TP site as our vacation days show up free. Hope that helps, what are you thinking about for ADRs?

Hey all! I'm a dork (most of you don't know me that well yet, but trust me, it's true).
You know we're having a peeps meet, right? and also meeting some other people from the dis that will be around at the same time.
Well I think for those that can't go, we should have a virtual meet.
And I think I've picked the time!
I'll be at MNSSHP while the Peeps are watching Hallowishes from the Poly.
So here's the deal.

You have to make a deal with me here and now. At 9:30 PM EST on September 28, 2007, we'll burst into Somewhere Out there!
And we'll make everyone that can't be there go outside and sing too.
Heh.
For those that don't remember, here's the lyrics.
Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

I would so do that, alone though, since I don't think there are any Hudson Valley, NY peeps... but don't leave me stranded! ;)

I know how you feel, first hand about photog and work. My mom has this wonderfully amazing talent at baking and decorating cakes. She does everything with such precision and they come out just perfect. I can't even belive some of the things she makes are edible. But she has to do it "on the side" and it stresses her out sooo much. I hope one day you are able to commit all your time to photography- you are so talented! :thumbsup2

shameless plug...I've finally added an update to the May Trip Report.

And...I'm about to start the Mom's June birthday report.

oh great, I have completely forgotten what I was going to post... :rolleyes1

Belle per your 11 day trip planner... (thanks thinktink aka Melissa) You so have to go with what it is your family LOVES... for instance, all the message boards, posters... they post about AK being a 1/2 day park (prior to EE I believe, and w/o the parade... ) but... dd is so animal lover, this is a full 2 day park for us.. while MGM is only a 1/2 day at best (dh and I do RnR, I do Tot alone.. we all do Beauty show, Muppets, and Great Movie ride.... we've also included the cartoon place - so coool when they made movies here, ie Mulan... ah anyway... its changed, we now do what WE like - it may contridict "convential wisdom" but works for "OUR" family!!

"good luck"

(and find a local distributor of rose regale - Epcot Italy champagne... YUM!)

Fly-by posting. Just got back from another baseball tournament. I had to rush home and clean my house. Tomorrow I will go to first service at church then head back to the coast for another game. Had to clean my house because my small group will meet here without us tomorrow. If we win tomorrow's game, we will go to state in two weeks. I really thought this weekend we would be finished. I love baseball, but the schedule is killing me.

Good news is this is my last week of class and then I get July off. :woohoo:

This schedule is also killing my diet plans. I am going to confess that today I ate 3 snowcones. It was very hot. That is my only defense.

How is Bee? Have we heard from her lately?

Have a great trip, Heather!! I pray that you guys have a safe trip.

S. Poppins- Bee is hanging in there, as far as I know. I haven't talked with her in a couple weeks. I hope she calls me soon, she's not in my replacement phone yet.

Wonders- Thanks for the plug! I'll read tomorrow. I'm wuuuped!

Dance- How'd the wedding go? Wasn't it today?

Eeyore- I really like MGM (ooops,"Disney Studios") It's at least a one dayer to us. I have yet to see the parade in a decent spot yet! Nor have I seen DeVine at AK! THIS year!

Tink- I love I Love Lucy too! Vitameatvegamin is my favorite! "Do you pop out at parties?" :rotfl2:

Spongie- did you go see the fireworks tonight? I HAD to go get another cotton candy (at our city's carnival). This time we got BLUE flavor.

First off...it's the birthday of one of our most beloved and long-standing peeps....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FIDGE!!!

8.gif

We love ya, Brigitte!!!
Hope you have the best birthday ever!!!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!! :sunny:

FIDGE....Is there gonna be a big party for your 40th birthday today???

SANDY & EVERYBODY.....Cartoon Network is repeating School of Rock tonight at 7:30 EST. Watch it if you get a chance. So funny.

STACEY...School's almost out! YAY!! What kind of team is DS on? All Stars? EEK! I would not like the traveling. You are a gooood mama.
We have lots of little trip plans in the works for the summer. (Six Flags in a couple weeks, Indy at some point, Chicago mini peep meet ;) , Cedar Point, maybe Great America or Lousiville Six Flags too.)
These trips all sound like fun! Are you still thinking of going to Kentucky Kingdom?? :scared1: I think Mimi will have to break down and buy a portable hard drive. Our computer is 4-ish years old and only has a 40G hard drive. We need a portable drive for her pictures anyway....as she has 2G worth from the trip. And thanks for the heads up on the endoscopy! You'll do just fine. I'm not worried one bit.
I drug myself out of bed this morning and went to the gym for a 30 minute workout.
AWESOME!!! Sounds like you are committed and that's the most important part!
6. Fav WDW ride: Peter Pan's Flight, Splash Mountain, Soarin, and probably many more to come when we get back from our July trip
Mel...I've been several times and those are still my favorite rides! Thanks for sharing about YOU!
I HAD to go get another cotton candy (at our city's carnival). This time we got BLUE flavor.
Mmmmm....cotton candy! My fave! Did you wear your tube top???

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, BLESSED SUNDAY, EVERYONE!!! :flower3:

Too funny 40 well acutally I think its really 28 beleive me don't ya??

Thank you for the lovely cake!! I burned alot of caloires yesterday in the yard. We are finally getting some work done in the yard that has been a long time in coming! HOORRAAYYY!!!!!

Took lots of little breaks and drank a ton of water and kept fresh cut fruit out there.

I am sore but it feels really good!!!

Off to homey d for more stuff yipppeeeee!!!!

Happy Sunday all.

Good Morning Peeps! :)

First of all...

:bday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY FIDGEY POO!!!:bday:

:cool1: :wizard:  :woohoo:  :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug: pixiedust: :rockband: party: :jumping1: :rainbow:

Secondly,

Melinda - I am still considering Kentucky Kingdom. I don't do the drop rides. (Only one I will go near is ToT.) We have never been there before, so it would be new. I really like King's Island, but we'll already have season tickets that would be good at Kentucky Kingdom. :confused3 So, I really haven't decided yet. King's Island is probably about the same distance, so that's still an option. If we get to do it (still not sure we'll have time to get this one in), would you want to meet us there?

Yeah, I bet she has a ton of pictures! I wanna see! :) I would definitely say an external hard drive is in order. We just saw a REALLY cool item in the Best Buy ad! A remote storage device. You access through the internet when you are away from home! Sounds pretty nifty to me! The external hard drive is perfectly fine though. I really don't NEED the remote storage device...yet. ;)
