Hi Peeps! I hope everyone had a nice day. :goodvibes I am still trying to kick the strep throat. :sick: I think it is better than it was but it is going really slowly. I won't be weighing in this week. Good luck to everyone who is. I will think skinny thoughts for all of you!:thumbsup2 :hug:

I used to get strep all the time growing up. I'm still pretty prone to it. Once I had Mono and strep at the same time. Horrible!! I feel for you..having a sore throat is worse then anything else. Feel better soon!!!! :flower3:

Congratulations on the baby girl Pigget

Our tooth fairy leaves letters and DD's write them back (they've all been kept!) It's so sweet to read what they write! Jessica's fairy is Tinkerbelle (she was mine too!) and Ellie's is Sugar Plum! Once when I was little I had a letter from the Queen of fairies I was so excited :yay:

um - so like I had a lenghty talk with a trainer today. seems I might actually be not working out the right way and I might be hindering my own weight loss. I'll go monday for a meeting to find out what I need to do to get where I want to be...right now I am at 31 % body fat...I'd like it to be around 20% (i think) more when I find out what the deal is

Look forward to hearing how your changes work for you if you decide to try it.

Okay, enough of the pity party :rotfl2: ... Tonight we ordered pizza and I had 2 slices (Hawaiian BBQ Bacon pizza). Yummmy, but I could have done better. Both DH and I were pooped and didn't feel like cooking. :faint: But let me tell you, having a high fat dinner sapped my energy even more. I see now how eating healthier makes me feel good and eating bad makes me feel like crap.

Tomorrow, BACK ON TRACK! :yay:

I know what you mean on the high-fat foods. I felt like garbage on Mon AM after my weekend of indulgence, and GREAT today after 3-4 days of eating right. Jump right back up here with me on that wagon!
 
On a croc related note- does anyone here have the mary janes? I have been trying to resist the urge to go get some, but I love the chocolate brown ones. They just seem cuter than the other crocs I have already. Just wondering if they are as comfy as the other models.

I do! I do! :yay: Our office is business casual - so I like to pretend that the mary janes are more like dress shoes than regular crocs - ;) And I only have one jibbitz in each mary jane - discreet jibbitz. :lmao:
As someone else said, they're not as cushiony as the regular ones, but they're still fun.

I wish I could wear the new croc wedges - I don't know what they call them but they are CUUUUUTE! But my arch is too high/top of my foot is too fat.
I keep hoping that the more weight I lose, the better shoes will fit, but I don't think my arch will fall. Oh well.

Moo - I got sick again last night - and it wasn't from alcohol or dessert. :( And I almost passed out today and THAT wasn't from alcohol or dessert either. I'm hoping whatever's wrong will go away before I have to fly again on Monday.

Punkin - if you are still at WDW on the 10th, wave at me!

Bee -:hug: one of my dear friends at work is recently divorced and I hear the pain in her voice similar to hers. but hers was something she asked for, because she realized the marriage was over, its just as hard I believe on both people...please know that the emotions you feel are normal. okay so what he(Mr trainer pro) is saying is that the strength training class I have been taking is actually building stamina instead of fat burning....he says maybe I should focus on major muscle groups once a week, thats just the beginning, and I am still not sure if he's just trying to get me to sign up for a personal trainer...but he seems to think he has ALL the answers. Its free. I'll go listen

When I first told my totally awesome Cardio Challenge/Power Yoga instructor that "my trainer" was going to start coming to Yoga, I found out exactly what she thinks of trainers in general :scared1: They know everything and try to do everything themselves. She is, of course, into classes and how we all feed off of each other's energy. I kept trying to say Jay was different. When he finally showed up for class a couple of weeks later she asked "is that your guy?" and gave me a wink. :laughing:

Dene - pose this question to your Jay...see if he is in agreement. For fat reduction/weight loss is it better to do like one hard core weight set once week on certain target areas, or is it better to do like a strength/stamina weight program 2-3 times a week.

I'll ask him... in general, he's told me to do a combination of cardio and weights throughout the week. He rotates what "part" he personally works on so the "parts" can rest and recover. He has my weights low weight with high reps. Lifting will up your metabolism in general (muscle burns more calories at rest than fat), but you still got do the cardio (that's why so many of the guys at the gym aren't getting the results they want... all they do is lift). And the cardio can be anything... step, treadmill, elliptical, walking through the park. Fat burning is actually on the low intensity end of the cardio heart rate scale. I like the classes when I want to sweat and increase my stamina (which is actually a good thing)... and I like to walk a looooooong time when I'm just trying to burn some fat.
 
Harley, I'll ask Jay tomorrow about the weights/fat burning thing.

Just wanted to "show" more of Jay... this one is DIS legal.

Here's a sneak preview of the gun show... and as far as fat burning. The guy wears 2X shirts... for the shoulders, cuz he has a 27" waist!

And did I tell y'all that I've shrunk an inch! I was always 5'8" in HS... now I'm 5'7". Jay was trying to tell me I wasn't 5'8" cuz he is and that I was shorter than that... went home and got out the meter stick. He was right. I think it might be due to compressing my spine with so much weight for so long. Wonder if my spine will decompress when I get all this extra weight off... :laughing: Oh, well... no matter, cuz I'm eye level with those beautiful blue eyes!:cool2:

Gosh, I have GOT to go to bed! Why can't I sleep????????:headache:
 
Close enough to Friday... don't know when I'll be back on. Prolly not until Saturday afternoon at the earliest.

Lost 1 lb for the week. I'll take it... missed 4 days of workout and consumed a LOT of liquid calories in San Antonio. :sad2:

But I do weigh less than DD19 now! (Which is good and bad at the same time... good for me, bad for her.)

And I got lots of positive comments at school today, too... from the entire kitchen staff and some students. :woohoo:
 
I'm really behind. I don't know how I missed all of yesterday. Anyway, today was our national day of prayer, and I prayed for all of you. I'll be back to post tomorrow for weigh-in, but I wanted you all to know right now that you are being prayed for.

Lost 1.5pds!!


I think that 10in. of hair helped with that .5pd b/c it did have some weight to it! :laughing: I'll take it as usual. My goal for this next week is 2 pds. (When I say that I feel like I am on Celebrity Fit Club and the sargeant guy is yelling at me for going to Pizza Hut last night!! :lmao: )

Now princess....this is not just a pity response! :laughing: I think your statement is so true! Like I said yesterday, keeping your calories inside your max is what will make you lose weight but eating good food will make you feel better...and you'll get to eat more food if it's healthy. Healthy usually equals lower in calories. Look at all the food Lynda eats!!! (bad example: I ate too many cookies yesterday and I feel like crap this morning. :sad2: )

I was so sure I lost this week but I was wrong! I followed the diet and didnt cheat but the number is exactly the SAME!!! Maybe my scale is broken?
It is frustrating to deprive yourself and see nothing in results.
I was up ALL night again and I have to go into the hospital again today for more tests.
My sisters and I are fighting about how to best care for my mom. She has early alzheimers and is still in the diagnostic stage of treatment so I think talking about nursing homes and power of attorney is way premature. She isnt even that forgetful yet and it is a propgressive disease. I wish I didnt have NASH because I so want a drink!
