Hello Peeps!

My DD finally graduated and I am a crispy critter! I forgot the sunblock and boy am I paying for it now. l look like a fat cooked lobster!

Finally joined a karate class, been walking daily and back to WW. I fell hard off the wagon but I am back on and trying really hard. I was actually too embarassed to come here.....:sad2:

Today was a day! Taught school--not to bad. Had a Dr.'s appt. that DH took Joshua to. The ultrasound went great--everything looks great and she is still a girl! Before I went to school this morning Joshua broke my glasses--not the fisable broke, but broke. SO after my Dr.'s we went to get me some new glasses. I had forgotten to pick up my prescription so I had them fax it over while I picked out glasses and got insurance stuff taken care of. Well an hour later they fax it over and it is the wrong script!!! I was mad. I leave and head over to eye dr. since it was close by and get it straightened out--I was there about 30 minutes. Now I go back to the mall and wait my turn, give them the script and find out they can't make out one crucial letter!! They call back Dr. and the person that answers the phone and looks up stuff says that is not the correct script. We had to fax over the script they just wrote. About 45 minutes later they called back and said that was the script--and clarified the letters. So after 2.5 hours we finally got my glasses ordered. I was mad by the time I left there--Joshua had yet to have nap but considering everything he was doing very well. Now Joshua has had a 45 minute nap and has woken up :scared1: Hopefully he will go back down at 8:00.

I saw this show, after getting a cryptic message from my friend..."Food Network. 10:00"! :rotfl2: I had no idea what was on, but was really glad she called me to tell me it was on! I loved the top 2 and totally agreed with the Captain Hook one winning! Do they throw all that cake out afterwards or can the audience eat it???? :confused3 Seems like a waste if it goes in the garbage. (All except "Scars head" that hit the floor!) :rotfl:
I ahve seen a few where they show the audience geting to eat the cake afterwards. YUM!

I just wanted to tell Dance that your cakes our FABULOUS !!! Lexie saw them and has asked if we can make them both for the fun of it. I have made the Barbie one for Caylin twice when she was little but never thought of doing any other characters. You are so creative !!! Thanks for the ideas. I got the new Womans Day mag the other day because of the summer cake on the cover with the bears ( have you seen it?) and I'm going to attempt to recreate it. If we do, then I will def post pics. It uses blue jello to make the ocean, and teddy grahams, and different candies for things. I think i can do it, i'm just a little skeptical about the ocean.
That cake is on my list of just for the heck of it cakes. I loved that! (I actually bought the mag because of it) The directions seem pretty easy and I think they said you can even make most of it ahead of time so it isnt so overwhelming. Go for it! I am sure it will be great!!

I need a BOOSTER SHOT! I had been doing really good with my fast food addiction- my daily travels to dance classes for the girls were at a close and the temptation wasnt there - But the other night as I was driving to work those darn MCDONALD'S FRIES magnetically pulled my car to the drive through. Did ok that night- I just didnt eat my "snack" at work. Since then, I've been to the drive thru 2 more times!!!:scared:
I am 100% convinced they put something in their food, especially the fries. I can stay away for weeks at a time. But if I eat there once, I will be back 2 or 3 more times within a week. It is like a drug, I have to get my fix!

I'll have to catch up, but I thought I'd post a couple of pics while I was thinking about it. This is one from May '06.

And this is one from May '07.

I'm not sure this is my best 'before and after' example, but I WAS wearing the same outfit in both pics, so I thought I'd use it for now.
Probably not the best pic because you are bending over a bit in the second one, but I can still tell a big difference! (and I lvoe that outfit, those colors are soooo good together!)

So we are back from the pool. Stayed out too long and now I have too much to do here. And what am I doing? Dis-ing of course! I need to get cleaning. I promised DH I would clean the bathrooms and floors today since I wasnt watching kids. If he comes home and sees nothing but my new tan he is gonna be a bit ticked :rotfl: I can power clean and it will be all pretty before he gets home at 9. It is only 6:45 now. Did I mention I do better under a bit of pressure??

This is a tough situation....I remember being in sorta the same place. It sounds cliche but you have to follow your gut. If you don't get a good feeling about how he is running his life right now you may have to listen to it. 22 is still young but perhaps not young enough to already have established values on how he is going to run his life. I guarantee when he has kids he won't get sick of them. DH can't stand his niece but loves the kids I watch. So try not to let that sway you. But if you think he is coasting though life, and it isn't going to change, then you might want to talk to him and find out his goals. He will probably be judgemental about why you are asking but stand your ground. You deserve to know what you want from life and where your relationship is going. I know this is general advice but I hope it helps some.

 From my experience with my brother (he is 24) he has no interest in kids right now. I think if he were to have one of his own he would be a good dad but he really dosen't want to play with my little cousins or watch them. I think he is in a different place and that is so far away for him that he dosen't really have a desire to be around them. I think he likes kids but in small doses. Just keep encouraging your DBF to make good decisions and to stay in school. I hope that helps a little!

i don't have any great advice for you except to know that everyone is different. in my experience, boys tend to take a lot longer to mature in the goals and values in life than girls do. honestly, ray (my DH) didn't "grow up" til he was about 28....:scared1: luckily i'm 5 years younger than him so we were kind of on the same level of maturity. he used to be so irresponsible that he would forget to pay car payments, get his license renewed, etc. i had to remind him of all that stuff. now he's just the opposite - very responsible and a great husband. (i do admit i have to remind him of some stuff, but i'm OCD so that's no biggie for me!) another example is my brother. he'll be 21 in august and he's SOOOOOOOOO irresponsible. myself and my sister both had moved out of the house by 20 and were pretty much on our own. and he just hasn't grown up enough to be able to do that. i'm not making excuses for your BF...just sharing what i've come to realize. also, i also know that most people tend to like their own kids as compared to other people's kids! i've heard that from the lips of many parents.

I read your post and I thought you seemed worried about the lack of a job, could you encourage him to find something he enjoys doing or find an incentive to work like a vacation or something? As others said don't worry about the kid situation!

Sending you a

Thanks for all the advice! I think you were mostley all on the same page. I am two years older than my DBF so I could probably chalk most of it up to immaturity. He did watch one of his nephews this afternoon while the other was at nursery school- and he CLEANED A POOPIE DIAPER! This is a big step. I seriously felt so much better about the kids part of the situation when he told me this. If he could wipe his sister's kid's tush and sit and play games and watch shows with him all afternoon, he definitely was just not in the right frame of mind when I talked to him. I actually brought up everything that was bothering me. Like I said, we are very honest and open and lI was even pretty straightforward about it and he didn't get offended at all- which was what I was most worried about. So I just told him what I wrote on here basically. He believed me that I was very proud of him but worried he may make bad choices, and he should have of course because it was the truth. I guess really, I am just ready for him to be done with school and him to get a real job, and then we can live together and be engaged and married and all that jazz. I just have to realize that he's not only younger but a guy so I have to be patient! lol! I mean, he is amazing and he we have been together since highschool (6 years) AND he did pay for our upcoming Disney vacation for me for my birthday! ;)

Jo, so glad that fire didn't get out of control!

We have a fire burning not far from me - a company that recycles wood shipping pallets caught on fire yesterday evening. Last night, the flames (100 feet high at one point) and smoke were drafting straight up into the sky, but the smoke plume was blowing our way this morning. Fortunately, the wind shifted a bit during the day, but I'm keeping the house closed up tight tonight because wood smoke is a major irritant to me. I hope it burns itself out during the night, but I am guessing that there is still an awful lot of fuel there :sad2:

I have tried to catch up on all the weekend posts and have come to the conclusion that we "talk" too much!!:lmao: It's almost impossible to miss a day around here isn't it?
I can SO relate to this comment! It is easy peasy to get behind :rolleyes1

I'm not sure this is my best 'before and after' example, but I WAS wearing the same outfit in both pics, so I thought I'd use it for now.
Lynda, I can definitely see a difference! Looking good! :woohoo:

Hey everyone..have a great week..i am off to the WORLD tommorow a.m.!! woohoodily doodily!
( just weighed in at WW too..down another .6!:cool1: .)

Have a great trip!!

Hey Peeps! :) I am SO far behind! I have had a busy weekend, and I don't know if I've read since Saturday! :scared1:

I'll have to catch up, but I thought I'd post a couple of pics while I was thinking about it.

..

I am glad that you had a good talk with him. I saw this earlier but didn't have time to post a response... I think you are right, he is just young. Guys take forever to mature! There is a world of difference between a 24 yr old female who is out of college and working, and a 22 yr old male. It also sounds like he was just in a bad mood when you called earlier. Just give it time, he will come around!

I read this on sparkpeople.com today and wanted to share it with my Peeps:
" It’s totally normal to have weeks when you lose more than expected, and weeks when your weight remains the same despite your consistent efforts. Our bodies are very complicated and don’t always cooperate with the estimates of how much we should expect to lose. People rarely lose a consistent amount of weight each week. Measuring your weight loss on a monthly basis can be a more accurate gauge of how well you are doing. "

Hope everyone had a great day! Thankfully, my hives seemed to have calmed down now and I can sit here without wanting to peel my skin off.

I am assuming you have read the Harry Potter books? Don't laugh..some people haven't!!

believe it or not, i haven't! oh, the horror, i know!!! :guilty: i will eventually probably read them....just haven't yet!

by the way, we have so much in common....our ages, body types, husbands, anniversary dates, etc. but one thing we don't have in common is our taste in celebrity men!!!! i saw your new avatar and it's vin diesel, right? i think he looks like a gorilla!!!

The unfortunate after-effect of my overplanned weekend appears to be a nice case of hives.

:scared1: hope you're feeling better soon! i had hives when i was like 13 and they're not fun!

Hey everyone..have a great week..i am off to the WORLD tommorow a.m.!! woohoodily doodily!
( just weighed in at WW too..down another .6!:cool1: .)

whoooo hooty on both the weigh-in and the trip!!!! i'm so jealous of your trip!

I'm not sure this is my best 'before and after' example, but I WAS wearing the same outfit in both pics, so I thought I'd use it for now.

wow!!!!!! you look like a different person.....seriously. you look so much happier and younger! :thumbsup2

Ha!! I don't know anyone else who likes him...must go along with my David Caruso obsession!! :rotfl: I actually like Vin more for his muscles and voice then his looks. Whenever I hear him talk I want to slide out of my chair. Yes please!!! ;)

P.S. You need to read HP!!!

I was off to bed and saw that I am at 999 posts!! So of course I had to come back to this thread to post #1000!!!! :cool1:

Woo Hoo! Great job!
Just come back from playing 18 holes of golf, did I tell you how hilly this course is I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack when I get to the top of a couple of the hills, at least it's good for weight loss :thumbsup2 I have now done 2 of my cards to get my handicap, 1 more to go, which I'm doing Friday, then I can play in competitions
That sounds neat - look forward to hearing about your competitions!
you guys shouldn't have shown me this multi-quote thing. i'm so abusing it now!!!
I never noticed you weren't multi - quoting. There'll be no stopping you now! :rotfl:
Gonna be another hot day here today. We are going to the pool and then I have to make another cake today. One of the kids I am babysitting turns 6 tomorrow so I told him I would make him a cake. Spiderman was his request. Another challenge...but he wants chocolate and I have to try to remain strong!
okay - can't wait to see Spidey! That sounds more than a little complicated!

Hope you are too, Wendy.

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

I bought a pedometer off Ebay last night super cheap. I hope to get it by WDW! Although it's shipping from HONG KONG??!! I didn't notice this beforehand. He said it takes 7-11 business days. I only have 9. Keep your fingers crossed.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I am officially so far behind on my DISing that I may never catch up. Taught Bible School yesterday, then job #1, then job #2 and thank goodness Mom took us to Fazoli's for dinner.

HEATHER....Geez....hope today is better for you too. How frustrating!

LYNDA!
.......Lookin' good! :thumbsup2

PUNKIN....Last night my mom was telling me the whole story about Woody the dog that advertises for Trickett Honda on Gallitan Rd. Do you know this dog? He drives the cars in the ads? Anyway, he died last week and it was the lead story on the Nashville news! Mom sent them a sympathy card. :goodvibes

Who asked about books?
Was that you Belle? I enjoy juvenile fiction in recent years. Two of my favorites are Richard Peck's A Long Way from Chicago and A Year Down Yonder. I used to read Patricia Cornwell books and I was so grossed out the last time, that I vowed never again. I find kids books to be engaging and well...short....for the most part. They are very easy to pick up and put down for light summer reading.

Got's to run. I promise I'll be back in here full time next week!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

 Vin Diseal fan here too! But I guess that could be counted towards wierd celebrity taste for me as well- I love Elvis- and he's, well, dead! lol!

In any case, Good morning Peeps! Hope everyone has a great day! I am off to work and then to babysit with my DBF. That should be fun- for real, not a joke- lol! Last night I watched our Photopass DVD from our last trip- I can't believe we still have 40 days to go!!! I guess thats not so bad- I can use the 40 days to work off the extra wieght and maybe be at least where I was towards my goal when we went a year and a half ago! In any case, wishing everyone a skinny jeans day! :goodvibes

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Books---I love to read the younger books as well, but I try to use some in my classroom. Here are some I like--Long Way from Chicagois great. Watsons go to Birmingham great book for month of Feb. Devils Arithmetic and Night both are great books on the Holocaust. Sammy Keyes--Mustache Mary and the rest of the series. Holes enough with kids give me Janet Evonovich (sp) great series --just can't think of the name--some of you know what I am talking about--I have read all the Harry Potter and I really liked them. I got hooked after number1 through 4 during a 2 week span. If I let my kids read them I would have us read together and discuss--just some topics that come up in three and beyond would need some discussion ie. the dementours (at least that is my opinion).

Today should be a good day---tonight I go play BUNKO--I have missed the last 4 months. For my goody I am taking choc. chip cookies with cream cheese and something filling and then it will be just dipped in choc. I know not the best thing for this board, but people wait and see what I bring (they like my yummies). Going to get my new glasses this afternoon and hopefully some new mat. outfits since I just exploded in the belly all of a sudden. I am going to try to be more caerful on the calories I take in and such--had weigh in yesterday and I have now gained 10 poiunds in 5.5 months. I know not to bad, but I did not want to go over 20-25 pounds. So more fruit and salad is in my near future.

Hope that everyone has a great day and LYNDA you look great!!!

All right, just gotta say that I finally got around to watching the final Sopranos episode last night. I wasn't as disappointed as others, but I felt a little empty inside afterwards because I was expecting so much out of the finale and it just didn't deliver. Are we free to discuss it yet?

Good morning fellow Peeps !!!

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a great day !!

Swimming with the girls later this afternoon, after it's not too hot anymore !!! When did it get so hot, and why can't I handle it anymore like when I was younger? Does anyone else have this problem?
