DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Not open for further replies.
Afternoon, Peeps! I would like to announce that I am halfway thru the first Twilight book!! I got in the tub with my book at like 10:30, and I just now got out! I was so engrossed in the book I lost track of time. REALLY good reading...thanks for the suggestion. It also helps that DD14 owns all three books! I like that it is easy reading, just like Harry Potter books. It is descriptive without going into loooong boring descriptions that I always tend to skip over. Really well-written.

it's called the if-dawn-can-do-it-you-can-too weight loss plan! no, seriously. i just took some advice from this very thread and took my goal weight times 12 and that's the amount of calories i ate every day. (130 x 12 = 1560) i tried to keep it around 1500 a day. i went out and bought a calorie king book that fit in my purse, as well as a little notebook to write everything down in, and kept up with what i ate and how many calories i was taking in. ANd i drank nothing but water every day, only allowing myself 1 cup of coffee in the morning, but that's it.....water otherwise. and of course i exercised too. but the exercising part wasn't a big deal to me....i enjoy it. it was eating right (and drinking right) that was killing me. notice that this is all in the past tense. i've fallen off the wagon a little bit through the holidays, but who doesn't? anyway, i only gained like 2 pounds so not much damage done.

you're very pretty!!!!! i love your hair! and you've got great legs, if you don't mind me saying so. you're just the opposite of me - i carry my weight in the lower half of my body. your legs look awesome to me! i wish i had them!!!

Thanks, Punkin! That's mighty nice of you. YOU'RE pic is absolutely adorable!! I see no weight problem, missy!! But you did say you are 4 pounds from your target weight. Looks like you are already there to me!! Great job!

I think your floor looks fantastic, as does your hair cut! I always wanted dark hair. I always ask my hairdresser to color mine darker but she said my natural color is too light and too porous (sp?) to hold a dark color.

Great pics Toot! I don't see any double chin.

I follow something similar to the Dawn diet too, but I try to keep my calories a little lower, in the 1200-1400 range. Lots of water, 120 minutes or so of high-intensity cardio a week, and 2-3 weight training sessions. It works very well if you can stick to it. I also think calorie control gives you a better appreciation for exactly what different foods contain, but that one is just my opinion.

The Dawn diet sounds like it works! Maybe when i get sick of Atkins, I'll switch to something like that. And you are exercising? Wow!! Good for you!! I need to exercise, but I need to find something I can do even with heel spurs in both heels and torn cartilidge in my left knee. I might check out the fees at the indoor pool.

Sunday Morning - my favorite show!! There is the guy that looks at the world, he took his parents on an RV tour - hysterical - today -

weight loss!! He talked about his weight gain... :rotfl2: beyond his mental wherewithall!! He joind a gym, and then kept gaining weight - not going...

ah, but this year Peeps, this year *I* mean it... I am picturing success... I guess I'd better get a blog out, I have to record that food that goes into my mouth, tomorrow.. tomorrow starts today!

You can do it, Sandy!! :wizard: Do you guys record what you eat? I don't, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hi! I'm new here!

2008 is the year I finally have to face my poor eating habits.
I have a good exercise program, but snacking and desserts is my downfall, and I want to eat more meatless meals, so ideas are welcomed!!

20 pounds by June 2008 is my goal

Welcome, Loverly! I'm new too! I'm starting Atkins, I'm on day 3.

WELCOME.gif

Where did you get your tinkerbell bag I LOVE IT!!!

Thank you! I got it in Epcot at that MouseGear store. I like it too!

I just now dumped a slice of Cheesecake Factory cheese cake down the drain! I just did it as fast as I could so I wouldn't eat it!!!!!! I imagined it being the same white goop that Dr. Oz squoze out of the arteries on Oprah...it worked!

Feeling mildly triumphant
Sometimes you just have to be able to throw away what ever the temptation is. My nephew (he's 5) had "trimmed" his hair - right in the front before they came to visit for Christmas. When I asked him why he told me he gets "tempted about a lot of things!" I guess I do too! I sometimes wonder if I really want to lose the weight. I seem to sabotage myself.

I thought I was going to survive the holidays without gaining, but this week seems to have been my downfall, but I only gained a little, and I'm starting fresh 1/1 too (if not before)! picking up where I left off!

I'm thinking allergies. Usually I start like that with a cold and allergies but the cold doesn't go on and off. Try some allergy medicine every day and see how that works. Feel better.:) Laura :flower3:
I've decided I have hardly ever actually had a cold. It is always allergies. I use a saline spray you can buy over the counter for about $2 and keep them everywhere. You can spray as often as helps, and if I feel like a cold is coming on I use it and am almost always better within hours.

So, biggie challenge I'm faced with in a few hours. Taking Norah to go see Enchanted (again) and I've never gone to the movies without buying popcorn with extra butter flavored oily stuff. AOOHHH!
Well obviously I'm too late and your plan was better, but the last couple of times I went to the movies I got a kiddie combo which is a very small amount of popcorn and very small coke(yes, coke, UM!) for a really good price. It gives me enough to feel like I've been to the movies! I don't add the extra butter flavored oily stuff even though I'd love to, but it's still pretty good!

okay i just jumped on the scale and suprisingly i am down 2 pds putting me at a grand total of ......195 Whooo hooo i have maintained my below 200 weight for 6 wks now , i can see it and feel it . (But unfortuanately it is due to the pain i have in my mouth from my stupid teeth) :sad1:because i can not eat all the junk food like popcorn, chocolate, ect ..
Yea for keeping it off! And I think probably yea to all of us! I have a feeling we all would have gained more if at least in the back of our minds we didn't know the other peeps were trying to behave themselves. At least we were thinking about what we would happen if we gave in entirely.

Howdy, DISappearing Peeps! :wave2:

Mind if I join in? I just started Atkins today and I have 100 pounds to lose!! :scared1: It seems so overwhelming! But I have set a mini-goal to lose one dress size by my next WDW ladies trip on Feb 5th!

So anyway, I'm Bonnie, I'm 36, I live in Northern VA; I am married with three DD's, ages 14, 10 and 6. I teach pre-K, and I love it!

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! :flower3:
Welcome, Bonnie, glad to have you!

Hi Peeps!

I'm home! We got in last night. We had an awesome time. Can't wait to tell you all about it. Be back later.

Fran
Welcome home! What a fun time to go! We were there for New Year's Eve several years ago, and in the back of my mind I thought "this is how I'd love to celebrate the new year every year!"

Aries (WHERE IS THAT GIRL???)
I've been wondering that too!

I excercised today!! Dh & I took the kids sledding. It was so much fun! I haven't done that since high school. running back uyp the hill with the sled, was quite a work out! My body is sore now but at least it was fun, and my kids couldn't beleive I was joining in!
What a great way to get your exercise - and the kids will remember how much fun y'all had together!!

Hi! I'm new here!
Welcome!

PICTURE TIME!!!!!!! here are before and after pics of my bathroom floor. please excuse my messy closet. i didn't think about closing that door to hide the one place in my house that is crazy messy. i also didn't think to take the "before" picture until ray was starting to rip up the floor. you can see his knee sticking out of the toilet room and the floor being ripped apart.

Dawn, your floor looks great and so does your new haircut!

Morning peeps.

Bonnie Thanks for posting the pic. It always helps to put a face to a pic. You are very pretty. I almost thought it was me standing next to you when I first saw that pic. Your friend, squid something, is built a lot like me. I just hate to carry so much weight in the chest. I don't notice it until I see a pic of myself. Anyway, I'm doing low fat. I have a health issue so I'm only allowed to have 2 ounces of red meat a week and I pretty much cut out all fat, except when I slip and fall! I eat a lot of chicken, turkey, cornish game hens, fish (not fried). What I miss most is cheese. I also try to keep the carbs down, calories at about 1000 per day. I also exercise as I know from past experience that without it, I will lose zero weight.

And good going on the twilight books. Very easy reading.

Loverly Welcome welcome welcome. Post so info about yourself and a pic if you have one so that we can get to know you better.

Dawn You should be on a modeling thread or something out here. You are just too gorgeous. I like the hair a bit shorter. It's a classier look and really sets off your face. And like the new floor. It is a hardwood or a laminate. I want to know how it's going to work out with your dogs. We have all tile now and it's so easy with the dogs but cold in the winter.

Kat your dinner sounds fabulous. I love Cornish game hens. Didn't discover them until I started dieting and gosh, wish I'd eaten them all along. Oh, and the desserts don't sound shabby either.

What do you guys do for breakfast? I always ate fruit but now that I'm cold, it's not sounding good and I'm struggling in the morning to stay on target. This morning I had toast with jelly, not very low-cal there. I just don't know what to do when I'm cold. And I hate oatmeal.

Have a great day peeps. 13 days till WDW. Allie we may pass in the airport as we are coming in on Delta too. I'm easy to recognize. I'll have my lime green baggellini backpack and short post-chemo hair!!!!!

Dawn - Love the pics! I am impressed with your floor. Y'all did that yourselves? Love your hair!

Pakey - I'll be on the lookout for you. ;)

Bonnie - You're lovely. Didn't see any double chin either. :confused3

loverly - Welcome! Post often so we can get to know you better. Tell us about what works for you, and what struggles you have. We are all here to help each other. :grouphug: BTW, my name is Allie!:wave2:

Dis seems to be better today. It was driving me nuts yesterday! :scared:

Well I fizzled - only did 6 miles - too much ice, too much wind - and I quit... I'll probably be swept at WDW half, but at least I've started!! I'll do a half in August in Chicago - my new goal!!

WELCOME Loverly... and any other Lurkers just jump right in, the more you post, the more you make this YOUR place!! Take what you need, give what you can!! :wizard: Its all about trying, starting, sticking with it... a mind game... HUGE mental game!!

Punkin you and Monica so productive!! Your floor looks awesome, but the before pic looked pretty good too! LOVE your hairstyle - it suits you!!

Bonnie[/B][/B] LOVE those pictures!! Wasnt the bath cold by the end? Do you look like a prune?? :rotfl: ahhhh but just think, 2 hours in the tub that you werent tempted to munch!! My downfall.. well I have lots of them obviously!!

DH is getting ready to run out there - he wants to finish the full marathon in less than 5 hours, he's not there yet - but he wont be swept... I'm going ot be the little engine that could, the tortoise.... I think I can.. some days anyway!!!

My biggest problem is me. I get too negative... and i get stuck there... IF I dont think about it, I'm fine, happy go lucky, pass the cookies and chocolate!! :sad2:

Sandy you can do you know you can!

DS, the dogs and I are going to the school track to walk. I would get DD but she is at a neighbor's house playing with their new puppy.

I'm gonna walk outside while it is still warm. Cold front coming through, and it isn't going to get above freezing for the next couple of days. That's COLD for down here.

Oh my goodness. Lot's to quote about.

Monica- It's not ketosis breath already is it? I thought it took a bit for your body to go into that :confused3 BUT I have a failing memory. I dusted of my Atkins book and am refreshing my motivation. See, I'm NOT eating like full fat bacon and sausage etc. I'm opting as lean as possible. So I'm really not sure what diet I'm on. KIMKINS is intriging me because it works but theres this huge HUGE juicy contraversy about the lady who developed it , there is NO one named Kim at all. Her name is something Diaz. Her after picture from different sources was a different skinny model....You KNOW I love stuff like that! She claims she loves her privacy and wanted to show what was "possible" with Kimkins...it screams scam even though the diet does work (gals at church are losing like CRAZY on it).

Longwinded run-on sentence much?
[/QUOTE]

One: It's not January 1st yet!
Two: Is this diet available online to read?

Morning peeps. Gosh, I wasn't expecting so much activity here with the dis down last night but you guys got on with it.

For all of you going to read the Twilight series, make sure that you don't have plans when you start the book. Don't think you are gonna sit down and read for 15 minutes before you have to run and drop the kids off, etc. You will hate yourself if you do it. All 3 books, I read from start to finish in one sitting. Yes, I'm a huge reader and can read fast but still, I didn't even take a potty break but carried the book with me if ya know what I mean.

Bonnie, no pic in a bikini? Wendy also forgot to tell you that she springs for an expense paid trip to WDW after you drop your first 20 lbs. That's what Fran told me when I joined the peeps. Fran was temp thread leader when Wendy was on vacation so in her official capacity, I know it's legally binding. :rotfl2:

Fran, can't wait to hear about the trip. I leave 2 weeks from today for my week at the World. I'm taking my BF and her husband for their first time. Today, I get a message from BF that now they want to spend a day at Kennedy Space Center to see the shuttle on the launch pad. As total rookies, they have no idea that a WDW trip is planned 5 years in advance and that a stopwatch is carried to keep you on schedule. Now with 2 weeks to go, I have to REPLAN a day, arrange a car rental, figure out how to get to Kennedy, research that place and see if we need advance tickets, etc. I'm stressed to the max and already thinking about hitting DH's hidden stash of chocolate.

I've lost 2 lbs again since Christmas. I'm so glad that week is over. Bring on the Valentine challenge!!!

You are doing awesome!

I was thinking about starting a blog. I think you can do that on the WISH threads right? Like a journal. So I don't hog all the peeps space.:rotfl:

Hi! I'm new here!

2008 is the year I finally have to face my poor eating habits.
I have a good exercise program, but snacking and desserts is my downfall, and I want to eat more meatless meals, so ideas are welcomed!!

20 pounds by June 2008 is my goal

:welcome: There's always room on the disappearing peeps thread!

20 pounds is easy peasy. You can do it!

Toots: You are a very beautiful person. You can be a super model once you lose the weight. Then post a bikini pic. I will if you do. Deal?

We are built alike. You look very tall. I'm almost 6 feet tall. I have about 80 pounds to lose.

Dawn: The floor looks great. Your welcome for the motivation. We tiled our hallway. I have just 2 to fix. Not enough motar. And I drank too much wine with our surprise friends visit to paint. Did I say that ourloud? Oops.

You hair looks very cute and sassy. Perfect for you. Tee Hee.

Ok, one more day to psych myself into the plan.

I'm going to Sam's Club tomorrow, anyone need anything?

thanks for the compliments on my hair do. :goodvibes

Thanks, Punkin! That's mighty nice of you. YOU'RE pic is absolutely adorable!! I see no weight problem, missy!! But you did say you are 4 pounds from your target weight. Looks like you are already there to me!! Great job!

that's the great thing about this thread.....some people have 30 pounds to lose and some have 100. and we are all here to support each other....no matter how much it is! here's what i consider my before pic....162 pounds. now granted i'm short (5'3") so 162 pounds looks different on me than on someone who's taller. i'm the one on the far right.

Picture005-4.jpg

this is the most recent full body pic i have of me.....taken in november. that girl with me on the right is anna, who is one of my best friends and also my fitness trainer. and she's part of the reason i've lost 30 pounds.

Picture003.jpg

I think your floor looks fantastic, as does your hair cut! I always wanted dark hair. I always ask my hairdresser to color mine darker but she said my natural color is too light and too porous (sp?) to hold a dark color.

thanks! my hair has been every color you can think of.....blonde, red, black, brown....even purple! i wish i could do something daring like get platinum highlights underneath, but with my job (i'm a court reporter) i don't think the judges would appreciate that!

The Dawn diet sounds like it works! Maybe when i get sick of Atkins, I'll switch to something like that. And you are exercising? Wow!! Good for you!! I need to exercise, but I need to find something I can do even with heel spurs in both heels and torn cartilidge in my left knee. I might check out the fees at the indoor pool.

the dawn diet! i actually need to give credit where it's due - to melinda! she's the one that told me about that goal weight x 12 = calorie intake formula that worked so well for me!

Dawn You should be on a modeling thread or something out here. You are just too gorgeous. I like the hair a bit shorter. It's a classier look and really sets off your face. And like the new floor. It is a hardwood or a laminate. I want to know how it's going to work out with your dogs. We have all tile now and it's so easy with the dogs but cold in the winter.

you are SOOOOOOOOO silly! i was taught to never refuse a compliment, but c'mon......model?????? yeah, right!

about the floor, actually, it's neither. i would love to have real hardwood but we can't afford it right now. we got it at home depot and it's called trafficmaster resilient flooring. it has a 25-year warranty. and it's glueless, so you just stick it together and you can trim it with a sharp knife or pair of scissors. but it really looks good and not like cheap, fake wood. we got it in "cherry" color.

Dawn - Love the pics! I am impressed with your floor. Y'all did that yourselves? Love your hair!

i would love to take credit but ray did most of it. i supervised! ;)

Well I fizzled - only did 6 miles - too much ice, too much wind - and I quit... I'll probably be swept at WDW half, but at least I've started!! I'll do a half in August in Chicago - my new goal!!

i'm so impressed that you're out there running in the middle of winter. i HATE running in the cold!

And I drank too much wine with our surprise friends visit to paint. Did I say that ourloud? Oops.

:lmao: too funny!

i'm off to finish up 3 more videos for expo tv before the end of the month. so far i've earned like $230 total (since november) but that's not bad considering i'm just doing it in my spare time.

I posted on Wendy/Utahmama's thread some pictures of the Kona and Ohana Peep Meet!! (not the good one/s uma posted!)

I'm in a too lazy to move mood - so I'm posting pictures!!

dont quote this (that way when I get movin, I'll erase the picture!! Its embarrassing)

cold and snowy here - hard to run in, *sigh

Full body shot....zoiks!! But just imagine...100 pounds lighter and I will be fabulous! :teeth:

(also in pic, fellow DISers Squidrific (L) and Disney4Drew (R).

Bonnie! You are stunningly beautiful! OMGawsh! And those legs! Those EYES! ((from a totally straight, upstanding LDS woman, mind you))

My fat is mostly my hips, thighs, and bum. My waste is disproportionately smaller. To get jeans to fit my lower half I have to cinch a belt which puckers the wasteline of the jeans. GRRRRRR! I feel like I look hideous lately! Like a Teletubby!:sad2:

So,,ya,,I'm on the low carb thang too. So far so good. 3 pounds in 3 days. WHICH with my luck wont be the case come friday. I have the suckiest luck on Fridays. Sat-Thurs...lookin' goooood.

SANDY- I almost quoted you! I do that...place my kids in front of me strategically. You and your family are soooo cute! You have the best smile! Have fun with JUST your DH (WINK!).

Diet Links someone (Bonnie?) asked about the website for Wendy's diet - Southbeach - if you go to their forums they have recipes and a list of phase one foods

This is what I'm going to try:

YOU on a Diet
http://www.realage.com/ct/shape-up-slim-down/you-on-a-diet/

Get started with this 20-Minute Workout, adapted from YOU: On a Diet.

You really only need two things to build muscle, burn fat, slim your waist, subtract years, boost heart health, and reduce stress --and both are free: your body and the know-how to use it. Start by walking 30 minutes a day. No excuses. "It's as important as daily sleep," says Dr. Roizen. Once you're walking every day, do this workout every other day. Why?

During each session, work as hard as you can--that's what builds muscle. At first, you may only be able to do each move a few times; later on, you'll manage many more easily. When that happens, switch to the exercises that use tubing or weights if you like.

RealAge doctors Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz have checked a starter 20-minute workout for you, complete with recommended stretches. When you master this workout, choose alternates, or step up the intensity with tubing or weights. Click on the name of the exercise to see a description. Click here to see a full-length 20-Minute Workout video.

all you have to do is register!!

Who's WITH ME??!!

Thanks for the the alert Mony, how exciting!!!!!! Just about a year ago you were in that boat, LOL!

punkin413 Love the bathroom, very nice. The haircut is super cute.

Sandy321 I'm checking the You on a Diet site just for the exercise program itself. I do WW but right now all I do is walk on the treadmill. I need a little help in what to do as far as weight training stuff. Thanks for the link.

Laura :flower3:

i can't believe you're out running in that! you're more committed than i am! and i love the pic of you and the fam.......so cute!

I feel like I look hideous lately! Like a Teletubby!:sad2:

you do NOT look like a teletubby!!!!!! :lmao: you're so silly. and even when you lose the weight (notice i said when, not if!) you'll still have the same problem with jeans fitting your hips/butt and not your waist......it still happens to me and it's so annoying!

20 pounds by June 2008 is my goal

WELCOME to the family!!!!

Ah! I'm a snacker too :cool2:

Sounds like a doable goal!!!!

Feel free to ask anyone who posts here questions. Every one is super nice!

There's not really any rules, but on friday (mornings?) each of us weigh-in and post how much we lost or gained or if we stayed the same. Please post boldly like this: -5 pounds!!!! ( I WISH!) or similar. I keep a little notebook and record our progress. NO need to post your weight, but some do. Makes them feel accountable, I guess.

Occasionally one of us will start a new challenge and we all jump on board...but NO pressure.

We celebrate every little baby step towards being healthier. We offer support if you're having challenges.

Hope you post often! Hope you like it!!!!

Thanks Utahmama! Tomorrow I go to the gym.....I hope it's open.:cool1:

Loverly - I just caught on to your name by the comment that is typed under your screen name. I can be a little slow. :rotfl2: Shall I call you Liza?...as in Doolittle. ;) I LOVE that movie. I was in the play in high school. So do you live across the pond?

Sandy - Is that your front yard? It is so beautiful. I'm sure you don't think so, but coming from this Southern Belle who never gets to see snow, it is AWESOME!!!! I wouldn't run in that either. :sad2: DS, the dogs and I did pretty well today. Shadow just about pulled my 6'1", 14 yo son over. I think she is part greyhound because that dog sure can run! I did 2.5 miles in ?????. I have no idea how long it took because I accidentally reset the distance on the GPS while I was checking. :headache: That is always my luck, or lack there of. :rotfl2:

Dawn - That picture of you and Anna, is that the Fox parking lot? It looks very familiar to me. If it is, I think that is where we parked when my mom took DD and I to see the Rockettes a couple of years ago. Tell Ray.....Good Job! :thumbsup2

Wendy- You are most certainly NOT a teletubby. You are our wonderful, marvelous leader! :worship:

Thanks for the the alert Mony, how exciting!!!!!! Just about a year ago you were in that boat, LOL!

I am dreading Jan 2. Why? Well when I found out I was pregnant with Malorie was on this date 4 years ago. Then last year on Jan 2 I took the test and I was PG, (almost typed PJ:rotfl: ) Now mind you Tim had the proceedure and I am taking all steps possible to not get pregnant. Actually AF came at the beginning and the end of this month.

DO NOT go there Marita. I don't need this jinxed.

I'm trying to teach the baby to fall asleep on her own. It's not going too good right now.

She is SOOOOOOOOOO spoiled!!!!!!princess:

Wait, it's quiet. Cool!:cool1:

My BFF called and said come on over tomorrow for New Years.

What's everyone's plans?

Think of it as one last hurrah before we do this thang!
