We'll be leaving for Monterey after lunch. How does a cup of veggie juice and a slice of pecan pie sound for lunch? Balanced, right?:confused3

have fun!!!! :yay:

I want to be punkin too!!

that just sounds so wierd to me!

Howdy, DISappearing Peeps! :wave2:

Mind if I join in?

WELCOME!!!!!!!! good to have you. you'll love it here....lots of great tips, encouragement and laughs. let us know how atkins is working for you. i've tried it before and it works really well at first. if you start slipping there are lots of other great methods out there. ;)

oh, and i have to ask......what's with the Q-tip picture?

Hello PeePs! Remember me? Yes, its your friend Sparkie the backslidden PeeP.

hi, sparkie!!!!! welcome back! it's good to "see" you!

So...remind me what the Valentine's day challenge is?

you set a goal for yourself to achieve by valentine's day and aaron (WIDisneyfan) keeps a tally of our weight so we can see how we're doing. my goal is 4 pounds. doesn't seem like much but i'm 4 pounds away from my goal weight and this weight loss has S-L-O-W-E-D down since about august. i started in march at 162 pounds and now i'm at 134 pounds (goal weight is 130). i'm proud of myself but these last 4-5 pounds have been REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!

Hi Peeps!

I'm home! We got in last night. We had an awesome time. Can't wait to tell you all about it. Be back later.

Fran

welcome home!!!! :flower3: hope you had a magical time. i can't wait to hear all about it. are you doing a TR?

wow.....i wasn't around at all yesterday and lots happened......old peeps returning, new peeps....i'm overwhelmed!

melinda (and everyone else who's curious) - i just e-mailed lynda to check on her. i'll let you know if i hear from her.

well, yesterday i chopped about 4 inches off my hair. it's the same style....just shorter. i have SO MUCH hair and when it gets long it starts getting all messy underneath, so i was sick of dealing with that. anyway, i guess i like it.....i haven't fixed it myself yet so i'm not sure. i will post a pic of the new hair soon. some friends got together last night and anna took pics (of course) so there will be some in there.

we went to see "p.s. i love you" after dinner at p.f. chang's last night and.......let me tell you......WHAT A DEPRESSING MOVIE!!!!!!!! it was funny but SO SAD! just be prepared to weep when you go see it. oh, and the best part of the evening.....i stopped by the disney store and got ray a grumpy t-shirt for $4.99. :woohoo:

well, i'm officially back on board with my diet. last night was the last holiday obligation i had to eat bad. i'm good until monday night (new year's eve) and that won't be horrible.....probably just some alcohol to ruin the calorie count. i think i'm gonna start writing down my food again on wednesday. it just seems to help the weight come off easier.

have a good saturday, everyone! :goodvibes

Hello PeePs! Remember me? Yes, its your friend Sparkie the backslidden PeeP. I have regained and also had a positive gain since I spoke with you last. Too much time focusing on everyone but me. So what to do?

Start over of course.

I'm going back to weight watchers. I have joined a team at work and all of well most of the girls I work with (we told the girl who weighs a mere 120 that she was too skinny to join) We are participating in "Scale Back Alabama" It is a contest that starts Jan 10 and last for 10 weeks. All members on the team are supposed to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks. There are support groups, nutrition lessons and our hospital offers a discounted membership to Gold's Gym. If individually you lose your 10 pounds you are entered into a drawing for $250. If each team member loses 10 then all of you are entered into a drawing for $1,000 EACH. (Hello Mickey Money!!)

My overall goal is to lose 45 pounds. But that seems too overwhelming right now. So I think I will just take it 5 at a time. I also have a little more incentive. I went to the doctor in Nov. and my blood pressure is elevated. Sometimes a little and sometimes a lot. :scared:

So enough about me-

How has everyone else been?

And could my English friend explain the measure of weight called a "stone"? I've been watching you are what you eat and it is based out of the UK and all the weight measurements are in stones.

Welcome Back!!!! 10 pounds in 10 weeks, huh? :worship:

You'll have to share your ww info as the weeks go by since I'm wayyyyyy too broke to join (again :upsidedow ).

I'm, for fun, weighing everyday...nekkie. So far it's 3.2 pounds in 2 days. Which sounds impressive but only means the broccoli was successful :rotfl2:
(LOL!)

Aries (WHERE IS THAT GIRL???) had decoupaged me a notebook which will serve as my diet journal.

Anyways, Sandy!!!!! That Dr. Oz is a rockstar! I really enjoy him.

I kept my promise and came HERE first this morning!

Monica- It's not ketosis breath already is it? I thought it took a bit for your body to go into that :confused3 BUT I have a failing memory. I dusted of my Atkins book and am refreshing my motivation. See, I'm NOT eating like full fat bacon and sausage etc. I'm opting as lean as possible. So I'm really not sure what diet I'm on. KIMKINS is intriging me because it works but theres this huge HUGE juicy contraversy about the lady who developed it , there is NO one named Kim at all. Her name is something Diaz. Her after picture from different sources was a different skinny model....You KNOW I love stuff like that! She claims she loves her privacy and wanted to show what was "possible" with Kimkins...it screams scam even though the diet does work (gals at church are losing like CRAZY on it).

Longwinded run-on sentence much?

We have a group from church that is trying to get up a team to do that too. I would sign up, but what if I don't lose it, and disappoint the team. :sad2: Plus, I don't have that much to lose, so I think it would be harder for me. Good luck, and I hope you win. Plus, :welcome: back my AL buddy!

Fran - Welcome Home! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Oh, and my sis just called me and told me that my nephew was able to trade in his broken Guitar Hero (which was the boys fault for moving the console :headache:  ) and get a used one! :thumbsup2 I feel bad that they did something that messed it up. Something about if you put your hand on the top of the XBOX 360, you can scratch the disk. How crazy is that? They should be a little more durable than that. IMO :rolleyes1

Morning peeps. Gosh, I wasn't expecting so much activity here with the dis down last night but you guys got on with it.

For all of you going to read the Twilight series, make sure that you don't have plans when you start the book. Don't think you are gonna sit down and read for 15 minutes before you have to run and drop the kids off, etc. You will hate yourself if you do it. All 3 books, I read from start to finish in one sitting. Yes, I'm a huge reader and can read fast but still, I didn't even take a potty break but carried the book with me if ya know what I mean.

Bonnie, no pic in a bikini? Wendy also forgot to tell you that she springs for an expense paid trip to WDW after you drop your first 20 lbs. That's what Fran told me when I joined the peeps. Fran was temp thread leader when Wendy was on vacation so in her official capacity, I know it's legally binding. :rotfl2:

Fran, can't wait to hear about the trip. I leave 2 weeks from today for my week at the World. I'm taking my BF and her husband for their first time. Today, I get a message from BF that now they want to spend a day at Kennedy Space Center to see the shuttle on the launch pad. As total rookies, they have no idea that a WDW trip is planned 5 years in advance and that a stopwatch is carried to keep you on schedule. Now with 2 weeks to go, I have to REPLAN a day, arrange a car rental, figure out how to get to Kennedy, research that place and see if we need advance tickets, etc. I'm stressed to the max and already thinking about hitting DH's hidden stash of chocolate.

I've lost 2 lbs again since Christmas. I'm so glad that week is over. Bring on the Valentine challenge!!!

I read yesterday that they have postponed the shuttle launch. Not sure when it is supposed to launch now, so it may not be on the launch pad. I'd check to be sure.

Also, when are you getting in on the 13th? I know I asked this before, but I forgot the answer. :rotfl2:

I think the shuttle was scheduled to off on the 10th so if it was postponed, I think it'll be there still on the 13th. My BF does not really want to go there but it's her husband's biggest dream--wish I would have known that BEFORE I made the WDW plans.

I think we arrive at about 6:00 pm. It's always a long jaunt across the US. This is our first time flying Delta (won't do it again) and they have changed the flight times a zillion times and honestly, I have quit looking. I'll just check a day or so before we leave. Last time I checked, we arrive at airport at 4:30 and we are transferring via towncar so that should get us there by 6:00. We have 9:00 dinner at Yachtsman (staying at BCV). We are always starving that first night as we leave home at 5:00 am and go all day without any decent food. I won't be very peep like that night I'm sure.

I excercised today!! Dh & I took the kids sledding. It was so much fun! I haven't done that since high school. running back uyp the hill with the sled, was quite a work out! My body is sore now but at least it was fun, and my kids couldn't beleive I was joining in!

Toot Sweet Welcome Bonnie. I'm Laura. I;m 37, married with three kids, ages DS8, DS6 and DD 2, SAHM, live in CT. I am doing Weight Watchers. These peeps are a good group. I am a new peep too. I have about 150 lb to lose but am taking it 10 lb at a time.

my2boysrtwicethefun Welcome home. I can't wait to hear about your trip.

punkin413 Thanks for asking about the Q-tip I was wondering too. I have that same problem with my hair, gets yucky underneath. I'm thinking about cutting a little off too.

UM I so want to see Enchanted. I'm thinking I might try an afternnon when the boys are at school and bring my DD2, I just don't know if she'll sit threw it.

I quoted a whole mess of people and it didn't come up. Hello everyone else.

:welcome: Bonnie!

Nice to see you here too!

I second that!!

WELCOME!!!!

 pigget - I was going to add something, I now forgot!! oops

i just got that book for christmas...i am going to go read some now :) :thumbsup2

Do share - no one likes to do anything alone!! If I just do 5 min of it - its a start!

Had to let you know this made me laugh. Not the haha we really flubbed this up but the 'oh my goodness, what were we thinking trying to lose during the holidays? Are we all nuts??!?!' laugh. I'm on board for V-day though!!

:lmao: :lmao: I had to explain to the kids why I almost fell out of my chair and they got a kick out of the visual too!

I am off to take a quick peek at Winkers thread and then I've got to make my grocery list. DH just bought our plane tix for our trip to Denver. We've been watching them for months and finally found them for $130, round trip, non stop this am!!:woohoo:

Having a bottle of water/fake crystal light next to the computer really works. I drank a whole liter already today!

great tip!!

Hi Peeps!

I'm home! We got in last night. We had an awesome time. Can't wait to tell you all about it. Be back later.

Fran

Glad you had an awesome time!!

Dh ran 15 miles I did 3 miles - he did it out in the snow and ice, I did it to Walk Away the Pounds!!

:welcome: home!

I really want to hear all about it. I hope you took lots of pics of POR.

I excercised today!! Dh & I took the kids sledding. It was so much fun! I haven't done that since high school. running back uyp the hill with the sled, was quite a work out! My body is sore now but at least it was fun, and my kids couldn't beleive I was joining in!

Laura Punkin Melinda Allie Pakey and everyone else lurking and thinking about jumping in!

Ok, DD and I got out and practiced for our run next week (thanks to a call from Sandy;) ) and we did 1.95 miles in 30 min. Not quite fast enough for Disney standards, but not bad IMO. Especially since I haven't run since October.

Pakey - We might pass in the airport. We leave at 5ish. We are flying Delta and they changed my flight without even telling me. I found out by checking the website. Anyway, all is good now. Hope you have a great time!

Sandy

Where did you get your countdown ticker in your siggy from? I so want one of those and I don't know where to go.

Laura:flower3:

Hey there, Peeps! I survived my second day of Atkins. So far so good! I need to purchase a scale...I don't have one!

I had a great time at the day spa today...a facial and neck and shoulder massage. Good times! But like a dork, I forgot to give them my $50 gift card (a gift from one of my preschool students)! Now I'll have to return again so I can use it...shoot! ;)

Bonnie: You can just scroll back through the thread. The bikini picks are all there, somewhere.:rolleyes1

Hmmmm....something does not seem right....can't quite put my finger on it....:confused3 ;)

Where are you buying these books? I've looked my DH has looked. Nope, can't find them. Meijer, Target, Walmart, I even looked in the Grocery Store.

Stephenie Meyer, Twilight Series, right?

Have a great Saturday everyone!

I have started Twilight book one! DD has one and three and today we went to Borders and bought book 2, which she has read but did not own. Until now. So verily, I say unto you...try Borders! They had them all!

Q-Tip = Quit Taking It Personally....my new motto!

And thanks for the welcome!!

I KNEW it!! I'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED!! :rotfl2: I THOUGHT it was a little suspicious, asking me to post bikini pics! Good thing I didn't actually DO it!! :scared1:

But here are a couple pics of me so you can see a before shot. I avoid cameras when possible, so the photobucket pickin's are SLIM (pun intended)!! These are both taken in August.

I really want to lose my double chin and slim my face down quite a bit:

Full body shot....zoiks!! But just imagine...100 pounds lighter and I will be fabulous! :teeth:

Which weight loss plan are you doing?

it's called the if-dawn-can-do-it-you-can-too weight loss plan! no, seriously. i just took some advice from this very thread and took my goal weight times 12 and that's the amount of calories i ate every day. (130 x 12 = 1560) i tried to keep it around 1500 a day. i went out and bought a calorie king book that fit in my purse, as well as a little notebook to write everything down in, and kept up with what i ate and how many calories i was taking in. ANd i drank nothing but water every day, only allowing myself 1 cup of coffee in the morning, but that's it.....water otherwise. and of course i exercised too. but the exercising part wasn't a big deal to me....i enjoy it. it was eating right (and drinking right) that was killing me. notice that this is all in the past tense. i've fallen off the wagon a little bit through the holidays, but who doesn't? anyway, i only gained like 2 pounds so not much damage done.

But here are a couple pics of me so you can see a before shot. I avoid cameras when possible, so the photobucket pickin's are SLIM (pun intended)!! These are both taken in August.

you're very pretty!!!!! i love your hair! and you've got great legs, if you don't mind me saying so. you're just the opposite of me - i carry my weight in the lower half of my body. your legs look awesome to me! i wish i had them!!!

Great pics Toot! I don't see any double chin.

I follow something similar to the Dawn diet too, but I try to keep my calories a little lower, in the 1200-1400 range. Lots of water, 120 minutes or so of high-intensity cardio a week, and 2-3 weight training sessions. It works very well if you can stick to it. I also think calorie control gives you a better appreciation for exactly what different foods contain, but that one is just my opinion.

I am so tired... finally got everything done, house cleaned, all presents accounted for and wrapped, in preparation for the family Christmas celebration tomorrow. Not very peep-like food... Appetizers is a shrimp platter and cheese/crackers... Dinner is Cornish game hens stuffed w/ mushroom risotto and some on the side, steamed broccoli w/ cheese sauce, and have two desserts made. One is Bavarian cheesecake (from Biergarten), and the other is a peanut butter cup ice cream pie.

Sunday Morning - my favorite show!! There is the guy that looks at the world, he took his parents on an RV tour - hysterical - today -

weight loss!! He talked about his weight gain... :rotfl2: beyond his mental wherewithall!! He joind a gym, and then kept gaining weight - not going...

ah, but this year Peeps, this year *I* mean it... I am picturing success... I guess I'd better get a blog out, I have to record that food that goes into my mouth, tomorrow.. tomorrow starts today!

Hi! I'm new here!

2008 is the year I finally have to face my poor eating habits.
I have a good exercise program, but snacking and desserts is my downfall, and I want to eat more meatless meals, so ideas are welcomed!!

20 pounds by June 2008 is my goal

WELCOME!!!!!!! you'll love it here. it moves fast, so don't get frustrated if you come back tomorrow and there's 5 pages to read. and if you get too behind just skim.....we won't mind! weigh-ins are on fridays. when you weigh in you don't have to post your weight....just how much you've lost or gained (or if you've stayed the same). we're also having a valentine's day challenge where you set a goal for yourself to valentine's day. it's easier to conquer this weight loss thing when you set mini goals! aaron keeps up with our weight loss for the challenge and posts a nifty little chart so we can see our progress.

about your meatless meals....do you mean meatless as in no fish, as well? some people don't consider fish as meat. anyway, tilapia is a good way to eat fish a lot and not pay a fortune for it. i usually either marinate mine in lemon pepper marinade overnight then grill it or i coat it with safflower oil, sprinkle some weber's citrus seasoning on it, then put it in a frying pan on low and cover it with aluminium foil for about 10-12 minutes (of course flipping it halfway through). good stuff!

sounds good! :thumbsup2 i've never had cornish game hens. what are they comparable to, if anything?

the DIS was down last night and i swear i was having withdrawals. :scared: that's really sad.

PICTURE TIME!!!!!!! here are before and after pics of my bathroom floor. please excuse my messy closet. i didn't think about closing that door to hide the one place in my house that is crazy messy. i also didn't think to take the "before" picture until ray was starting to rip up the floor. you can see his knee sticking out of the toilet room and the floor being ripped apart.
