DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

I've been MIA all week - lots of things to do!

I'm -1 lb. finally heading the right direction. Still lots of room for improvement though!

:wave2: Hi peeps. I have been MIA for about 2 weeks now...so I am tiptoeing back in ;) I am about 30 pages behind and I am not sure when I will be able to catch up. Hugs and pixie dust to all that need it!

Life has been crazy around here, very busy, and I have been in a real funk. Long story short, this is the first year that I will not be going to Ohio to spend Christmas with most my family. (My mom is here in TX and one sister, but we all usually go back to Ohio where everyone else is.) This is the first year that wont happen and I am really having a hard time thinking about it. I just feel like it wont feel like Christmas at all being here. My family has had some heath problems this year so I was really hoping to get there to see everyone, but it just isnt in the cards for us.

On another note, DD's b-day is next Sat. I cant believe she is going to be FIVE. So I have been getting ready for her party and planning out my strategy for black friday shopping. That is a tradition I never miss! Last year the Disney store had 20% off the whole store (even sale stuff) and I had a coupon on top of it...it was fantastic. I heard this year will be the same so I am ready and have a coupon too! Our local outlet mall opens at midnight on Thanksgiving night and we then make the rounds all over town. We are usually DONE by 8 or 9 am and done shopping for everyone. I love it. I am sick, I know.

Also, my Dr set the date for my c-section last week. Feb 20th, I will be having my baby :goodvibes Unless he decides to come sooner, which I doubt.

Tia-Great job!

Dance- I went through funks when I was pregnant too. I think it's just hormonal. Same with the Christmas issue. Remember it's what you make of it. I'm sure you will have a great Christmas no matter where you are. :hugs:

I might just have Friday off. Oh, that means I can go shopping. What to do? What to do? I hate shopping, but I also hate missing a good deal.

Great to see some of you stop back in. Mousehouselover, Harley, Dance!!!! Keep popping in guys!

Harley - Just wanted to pop on and say, you are an enormous inspiration to me! Just getting past emotional eating is a big deal, and I hope to get there too. What specifically helped you to get past it? I'd love some advice. Right now, I've made a deal with myself that I have to drink a full glass of water first, before I emotional eat (as a deterrent), but then I just eat on top of it and feel the "bad" food floating around on top of the water.

Way to go everybody!

I have been lurking for like 2 months with no time to post so I def no how you feel- such a short amount of time and so many pages of peeps! ;)

Also just wanted to send you a hug :hug:
I know how you feel about missing your family. My grandpa, the head thanksgiving chef died two years ago and my heart is always wrenching this time of year. It is hard not being able to be around everyone. But, sometimes I feel like being with a few people from my family who are all feeling how I am can really lift my spirits.
Oh and BTW, my sisters birthday is next Saturday too! ;)

Glad you're back! Hang in there!

DanceyPants- glad you're back cutie-bug!

February is a great month to have a baby! How's the name-thinking coming??? That is always so hard for me!

Sorry about this Christmas being away from your family :hug:

Thanks for the welcome back everyone :) Maybe I just needed my peeps to cheer me up a bit. It would be nice if I could find a way to sleep more than about 5 hours at a time too....this kid does not let me get any sleep, I think he is going to be a gymnast!!

I have NO clue on names yet. With a girl it is easier I think. Boy names are all so blah to me. Nothing is jumping out at me. We would like an "a" name I think though. DH and I are both "j"'s, so it would be neat to have the kids be 2 "a"s but if not that is OK too.

Any ideas?? So far the only one we have we can somewhat agree on is Anthony, but to me there arent many good nicknames for it (other than Tony, which being Italian is a bit stereotypical), and calling a baby Anthony seems too grown up, know what I mean??

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I really slept in today. Til almost 8!!! I KNOW!!!

It is a sunny fall day and I am afraid I am doomed to rake leaves today. I know it doesn't sound so bad but there are a LOT of leaves. Good exercise? Right?

Harley....Good job, sweetie! We've missed you! :hug:

Jen!! Glad everything is OK. Sorry about CHristmas. :hug: I like Andrew too.

Nancy and Pam....I see you both sneeking in here. :wave2:

Faith....I admire your carrot cake will power. I couldn't do it. I keep Dove Dark Chocolates here....40 calories each. When I need a fix I eat one so I don't feel deprived. Is there any treat like that you can keep around for yourself?

Everybody else
......:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY!

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.

Good morning Peeps!

The Rockettes were absolutely fabulous! I get so blissed out watching them...it's like Disney for me :cloud9: We took a couple pics before the show so I'll try to download them and post them later today/tonight. The niece and nephew are still here so I don't have much time.

Jen - glad you're back...I was wondering where you went! Sorry you are in a funk over Christmas. I understand a little. Even though our family is local, we have done the same things since I was born and last year my DSIL mentioned changing some things up and I was just very distraught over it. But she changed her mind and things went back to its usual. I'm trying to think of "A" names but I'm in the dark. My "boy" name is Emmitt.

ok, gotta go. My niece can read now and she is trying to read everything I write. Have a great day peeps!

Andrew (Andy), Alexander (Alex), Adam, Aaron, Adrian

Parenthood.com has a baby name search engine that lets you search by letter, origin or even meaning. Maybe that'll help?

Welcome back! :)

I love Aaron as a boy name. And what about Aiden?

I have heard of expo TV while reading Tim and Lesley's TR...she seems to have a lot of luck with it. I looked into but I'm way too lazy to make videos for things. Haven't heard much else though.

that's where i heard about it, too. i've PMed lesley about details and she's given me some good info on it. i think i'm gonna do it!

congrats on the class, by the way!

I believe that there is a thread on the budget board about this. From what I have read it is very good. You can go to their website and read about it. I almost did it--might when summer comoes around.

i looked on the budget board and couldn't find the thread. i even started a new thread asking where to find it and no one's responded. the DIS is so deserted on the weekends!

Punkin and Heather~ I do ExpoTV

cool! i have a question for you...HOW do you get your videos to under 50 MB? i can't get mine that small! also, how do i find people on the DIS so i can make them my friends?

This is MY FIRST LOSS AS A PEEP!! :goodvibes

:woohoo: THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!! congrats! :thumbsup2

:wave2: Hi peeps. I have been MIA for about 2 weeks now...so I am tiptoeing back in ;)

welcome back! :hug:....about the holidays. i'm sure you will make it a very special christmas even though you're not with your family. maybe it's time to start some new traditions at home? that could be another way to look at it.

We would like an "a" name I think though. DH and I are both "j"'s, so it would be neat to have the kids be 2 "a"s but if not that is OK too. Any ideas??

my favorite boy "A" name is aiden.

hope everyone's having a good weekend! i've been busy wrapping christmas presents......yes, you heard me. since i go to nashville for thanksgiving this year i have to have the majority of my shopping done and wrapped and take it all with me to TN. and since we haven't put the tree up they're all sitting on my dining room table right now. it's a sight!

And peeps, I have forgotten some more awesome news! I finally got word today that the class I needed to take next semester will be being offered! And even better it will be online! So much easier than driving down to school from work once a week. So come late April, I will FINALLY be finished with my Master's! :cool1:

Congrats on that! :cool1: I know you must be so relieved and excited!

What do you eat at Chili's? Probably not the plate of fries, huh? I talked to DH about renewing our DL APs so I could meet up with you in Jan. If you are still interested, please PM me.

I usually get a dinner salad, and DH and I split chips and salsa (because I LOVE their chips and salsa!). Sometimes I get the chicken quesadilla explosion salad without the quesadilla wedges and have half put into a to go container before they bring it out. Their guiltless grill selections are pretty good too, but I really do love salad. You can look up Chilli's on calorieking.com or the Chili's website, and they have a very complete listing! :thumbsup2 I love that it's easy to find out what the calorie content of the whole menu is - not just a few items, like some places. I personally think that in this day and age, all restaurants should make that information available to customers. And I will PM you! ;)

Anyway, I need to see how I did yesterday. My friends and I stopped at a Panera on the way home from shopping. I had the fuji apple salad and black bean soup, and it was really yummy! :thumbsup2 I'm just hoping I guessed right at what might be good for me because I rarely eat at Panera, so I had no clue.

Edited to add: I did good yesterday on calories! My meal at Panera was dinner (had part of the french bread that came with the soup there too), had 10 chicken McNuggets and about half of my medium fry for lunch, and had some granola cereal and Fiber One mixed together and a light Activia yogurt for breakfast. And I ended up at about 1875 calories for the day! That's only 75 over my normal max. I can SO deal with that! I didn't drink enough water because we were so on the go, but we walked a TON! And carried some heavy shopping bags too. Until we decided to rent a stroller for all our carp, that is. teehee But I pushed the stroller most of the time we had it too, so I definitely got my exercise in yesterday!

those chips and salsa at chili's kept me from starving while i was in college!!! i worked there and chips & salsa were free for employees (well, that's not an official policy, but they never charged us for them) and i would have that as a meal when i didn't have any money! i still love them to this day. i also love their lettuce wraps. not as good as pf chang's, but still very yummy!!! and awesome if you're trying to stay low carb.

lynda - i posted some pics a few pages back earlier this week that i had taken of me, my sister and my brother for our dad for christmas. here's the link. when you get a chance, check them out. i'd like to get your opinion!

I have a cousin named Anthony and he's never had a nick name. It didn't seem odd or too adult. I almost named DS Arik........ There's also Andre or Austin.

Expo threads are here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1497331

and here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1517983

The second one isn't very active anymore but it has most of the DISsers who do expo and their expo names listed so you can cross reference everyone. There's also a private yahoo group to talk about things since there were some issues that were being discussed that we didn't want in an open forum.

cool! i have a question for you...HOW do you get your videos to under 50 MB? i can't get mine that small! also, how do i find people on the DIS so i can make them my friends?

Most of the time, what I record from my Kodak EasyShare camera is under 50mb but I also have a conversion program so I can edit clips and add graphics and such in Windows Movie Maker. http://www.radgametools.com/smkmain.htm Scroll down to the purple box where you have the option of downloading RAD video tools. When I convert my clips, I choose DivX 5.2.1codec ao it is both converted to a workable format and compressed properly. Make sure you have a few seconds of silence or add a blank screen to the end of the video when converting so you have a cushion if the uplaod proess cuts of a bit at the end.

There are over 100 poeple who have posted an Expo user name on the second thread I linked to. You can also go into someone's profile and click on their friends to increase your friends and subscrbe to their videos.

~~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~
So I mentioned a few months ago when I started my job that I would be less tempted to snack and I'd be at work during my 'danger' times for snacking. Well, that hasn't necessarily been the case. I don't snack at work but I've gone to get fast food more times than I should have. I'm also a bit stressed out at work due to several issues and that doesn't help me avoid emotional eating. I wish I could be stronger and more committed to healthy eating. When I am strict with myself, I do well but I feel so deprived if I do it too long. I need to get back to the WW plan I was on earlier this year. I did much better and felt like I was eating 'normally' instead of being so restricted.
Well, I've got to go, I have to get some stuff done around the house.
thanks so much for your suggestion! i went to check it out and it's a no-go. they have a list of states whose residents are eligible for employment and georgia's not one of them. :confused3
Bummer! I forgot about that...I think I remember checking and my state not being included either! Oh well...it was worth a shot!
:lmao: Well, since you read the Worst Present Thread, you know I've got the rocks. Now you have the scissors. If we can find someone with paper, we'll be able to play that rock-paper-scissor game, literally. :lmao:
Does photo paper count? My aunt, who knows that I'm very into photography, thought she was just buying me the best present ever...she was at a garage sale last year and there was a box full of photo paper for sale. So, she bought it all for me, wrapped it up, and gave it to me for Christmas. The only problem is that I rarely ever print out my own pics. I usually send off for them to be developed at a professional lab or take them to a local lab here. So, I've STILL got tons of this paper! Luckily, we are having a youth fundraiser at our church next month...breakfast w/ Santa and pics w/ Santa...guess who's donating the paper for the pics? ;)
I put down 5 lbs for my Thankgiving challenge and I only have five pounds to go to make it!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: I think I'll go shave my legs, and ny armpits and my head , then I'll cut my fingernails and toenails. Hmmm any other suggestions?:confused3
You forgot your eyebrows! I'm sure those weight half an ounce or so!:rotfl2:
MRNsMommy, Thanks, now I want waffles:rolleyes: . I am currently off the steak fries but under the right circumstance, could be convinced otherwise. I am so weak :scared:
:laughing: Sorry!
Sorry I wasn't able to get on Friday w/ this...but I gained 1.3 this week! Very depressing! But I was somewhat expecting it since AF is visiting right now! She needs to stop packing her luggage so heavy!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I off to church in an hour for our Thanksgiving meal! Gee, I'm sure I'm going to be using ALL of my WW weekly flex points this week!:sad2:
Sorry I didn't weigh in... I was at -3.4 on Thursday AM but didn't get a chance to weigh in Friday.
We are moving offices so I lost my internet connection at work on Friday at noon, and then my home connection was down yesterday.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Hey Peeps...I was just now able to download some pics so you all can see my new 'do.
Pardon the scrubs and yucky make-up face...I just got home from work. This was the day I had it done:
