DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Hello!!

I happened upon Utah Mama's TR (:wave2:, UM) and she said such nice things about everyone on this thread that I just had to check it out! I did not, however, read through the 1400+ pages, sorry but I need to keep my job.

If you will have me, I would love to join the ranks. I am a 35 year old, married (for 11 years), mother of 2 boys (Ian (3) and Ethan (19 mos). I work fulltime for a goverment defense contrator so I can go to Disney World and feed my kids (not necessarily, but maybe in that order). Having two babies in 3 years took its toll and I am working to lose another 25lbs. I also have this lofty goal of running a 5K. Originally, my timeframe was by January but I am reevaluating that and am thinking I will be happy if I just do it sometime before I die.

I am relatively new to the DIS but an completely addicted and am bordering on needing intervention.

Welcome!! :yay:

You do not have to read all 1400 pages... we periodically re-post bio information here. Actually a bunch of us have done so over the last 10-15 pages if you want to go back that far.

I am so, so ready for this day to be over.

:welcome: This is a great place to be. Weigh in is on Friday. You do not have to post your weight--just if you lost or gained in big bold and how much. This is a great place for support and friendship. Come on and jump in.

Well---the Dr's office called back and they want to see Joshua at 5. Will let you know what he says. Have to go pick up kids form school soon so I will be back later.

Welcome to the Peeps Kim. This is a great group of people over here and I can vouch for how helpful (and fun) it's been to join this group.

And I certainly can relate to the needing intervention for the DIS. I'm so bad anymore that I've given up television almost completely (and I'm currently DISing at work as it's only 1:00 here). But the good news is that the DIS got me off of eBay so I'm saving money. :thumbsup2

and :welcome: from a fellow Marylander...

You're funny... :rotfl:

i'm off to fight atlanta traffic. i've got to meet my sister's boyfriend at 285 (the big loop that goes around atlanta) so i can give him her birthday present because i won't see her before then. i don't want to mail them to her because i'm afraid they'll break. am i a good sister or what? ;) then i'm going to go buy the last christmas present i need to buy! :woohoo: and THEN i'm going to eat dinner at loca luna's and after that see my favorite artist of all time, tori amos, at the best venue of all time, the fox theater. i just absolutely adore her. if i was stranded on a desert island i'd have to have "boys for pele" with me or i'd go nuts. if you don't know who she is, here's a bio....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tori_Amos

hope everyone has a skinny day! :flower3:

I said a little prayer for you. I HATE 285!!! Actually I hate all the interstates that end in the numer 5!!! Which is pretty much all of them. ;) :rotfl2: I'll have to fight it next week, when I go home, but luckily it will be on Thanksgiving, so maybe their won't be an accident (but your never guaranteed anything in Atlanta). ;) :rotfl:

Enjoy the FOX. It is soooooo beautiful inside there! Enjoy Tori!

I am very jealous that you are done Christmas shopping. You did a great job picking out the pics! Y'all are a good looking bunch. :cool2:

I love hockey too (hence the screen name!!). I was a huge Pens fan when I was in high school, and remember when Jagr was drafted... now that I am in NC, I root for the home team here. Also, DH and I both play ice hockey, and I feel your pain on the expense!!

And, strangely enough, my MOH in my wedding and I also share the same birthday, Dec 24th. Fun, isn't it? :goodvibes

I LOVED him when he played for the Pens, now I just love him because I am not a big RANGERS fan. :sad2: Although I tried to get a Jagr jersey this summer, while DH and I were in NYC, but we got there 10 minutes after they closed the store at MSG. :headache: It was mainly due to my inability to read a map. :rotfl2: :rotfl: I can laugh now, but DH wasn't too amused this summer. :rolleyes1

I admire you for skating. I grew up a figure skater, and I tried hockey skates, but I just kept trying to find the toe pick. :rotfl2:

Woo Hoo! Another PENS fan! As much as I love Jaromir... Mario would be my freebie!

Mario is good too, but I still LOVE JJ! Glad to see other hockey fans! :grouphug:

:welcome: to our party: KIM!!!! DD and I are running the 5k in Disney in Jan. and I just started running eight weeks ago. You can do it! :thumbsup2 I would recommend the Couch to 5K running plan. It has been a great way to work up to a 5K. Trust me if I can do it, anyone can. :lmao:

Well---the Dr's office called back and they want to see Joshua at 5. Will let you know what he says. Have to go pick up kids form school soon so I will be back later.

Good luck at the Dr's office. I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.

I would choose Mario over JJ... I am a colossal hockey fan, even have the cable package that has every game in every market, and it is on a LOT at our house.

I learned to skate/play at age 27, about 5 years ago. I had never really skated and never played an organized sport, but been a hockey fan since about age 10 or so. It is really hard and I am NOT good at it, but it is sooo fun!

Hi SINGINGMUA, hope you've been doing well! Is it cold up there? It's always hard for me to fathom the idea of living with "cold" :santa: weather, I mean the cold where it's so cold it hurts to feel body parts. But during the summer when it's hot as hades outside here, and you literally break into a sweat the minute you leave the AC, it's makes me go hmmmmm, might be a good time for a trip!

WELCOME TO ALL OF THE NEW PEOPLE!!! Wow ! There have been alot of newcomers over the past couple of weeks. More inspiration! More tips! More great weight loss ideas! :cheer2: I haven't been here to long myself, I think I stopped lurking sometime in July? This is a great place to be. I think we need to post a warning though, and let people know that this can be VERY addicting! Loss of work ahead people! Bosses beware! But the upside is that: WARNING: Dissing is good for your health! Weight loss zone ahead! Welcome to everyone.

Come on in the water is just fine, but careful, several of us joined, lost weight, got pregnant, had our babies, and have to do this all over again.

:welcome:

Wondering how Joshua is doing..............I hate when kids get that sick.

How coincidental is it that the ad banner at the top of the screen is from ebay featuring Jaromir Jagr trading cards and bobble heads?

Hmmmmm, I think our posts are now being scanned by advertisers.

I agree. Where did you the Ariel in your siggy from? The Little Mermaid is my fav.

Hello!!

I am relatively new to the DIS but an completely addicted and am bordering on needing intervention.

:hippie: Kim

Kim Welcome. You do not need intervention because that means I do too. I am addicted very much so. But love it.

:flower3:

I wonder how Joshua made out. Nicholas over here seems to be doing well after the meds kicked in. He is hyper from the Albuterol though running down the hall as I type. Awful cranky today though, I think because he went to school since last Friday. Thank God it was a 1/2 day. He needs to go to bed a little early tonight I think. His bronchitis kicked his little keister.

Yep, I am one that lost, got pregnant and here I go all over again, but I think she is worth it.

The Dr. said that Joshua's lungs are much better. When we first got there he was a madman for the nurse. Throwing a great fit and just being mean--not like him. She immediatly said it is the Orapred Steroid doing this. Five minutes after she left he curled up and was going to sleep when the Dr. came in. Number 3 nap for the day. He thinks he is sleeping so much 1) the illness has finally caught up with him and 2)We are weening him from the steriods and that is making him tired. He has a great case of THRUSH and so that is why he is refusing to eat. This is again because a combination of the steroids and because he has been on medicine since Oct. 12th. He is asleep already and I hope this does not make for a long night. DH called from Califonia to check on him and Rebekah---I am ready for March to be here and he will be done traveling for a while. I am just worn out :headache: but I guess it could be a lot worse so I should count my blessings.

Hope the concert was great! I have seen her 3 times, she's amazing. I watched Mona Lisa Smile for the first time ever this past weekend and i was psyched to see that she had a cameo in it..you definitely can't miss her with her shocking red hair!!!

KIM! You are a hoot! Welcome!!!!! Oh and Friday morning is weigh day. Just weigh yourself that day and make a note of it, then next friday see how much you lost. GOOD LUCK! How are you going to do it? I mean, some of us count calories, or are doing Weight Watchers, or South Beach etc. Do you have a plan? :yay:

How is your Mom doing?

Good luck on that conference today! SHe probably won't show :sad2: . DOes it make you just want to take the kid home and raise him yourself, or what?
Thanks for asking about mom. She's doing alright. She's home with her caregiver, and my sister and I alternate visiting weekends and doing chores for her. Her memory seems permanently damaged by the stroke, but she is still sharp as a whip underneath it all.

The conference went extremely well. I very respectfully laid out her son's strengths and weaknesses, then said he HAS to get to school unless he's really sick, and he HAS to get his homework done. She promised things would improve, so lets hope that works out. She also told me that I'm nicer than his teacher from last year, so I have to say that softened my heart. I'm a sucker for any kind of compliment.

I hope all goes well for you today.

Waiting on the pediatrician to call back. Joshua is only better as far as the fever goes. He slept a lot yesterday and is already asleep today. He fell asleep during his breathing treatment--which typically wires him majorly. He has never slept like this even when he has had pneumonia. Rebekah woke with goopy eyes---what fun!!
thanks for the good wishes. Sorry about the kids. Glad to hear the doctor thinks Joshua is doing better.

How coincidental is it that the ad banner at the top of the screen is from ebay featuring Jaromir Jagr trading cards and bobble heads?

Hmmmmm, I think our posts are now being scanned by advertisers.

My ads always seem to coincide with the Dis. Sometimes it's WW ads, or Lane Bryant, sometimes it Disney ads. It's funny sometimes how they link the two.

Have a skinny day before weigh-in, y'all. I've been on the exercise bike every day for the last four days. I'm hoping that helps.

Trixie is a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix. Those of you who were around in Jan. should remember that she locked me out of my car, while pumping gas! :rolleyes1

Oh, I know some of y'all wrote what you liked to watch on TV. Well, I have Tivo (love that invention), and I watch a lot of reality shows.
OMG! I'm :lmao: at the thought of your dog locking you out of your car at the gas station! I wasn't around here when that happened! What on earth did you do?
And I SOOO agree on TiVo being the best invention ever! We have two already...one in our living room, one in our bonus room...and are thinking of getting another one in our bedroom...it's seriously kind of sad!

hope everyone had a good day. i found out this morning that my uncle had a heart attack last night. they put a stint in today and he's going back in 2 weeks for open heart surgery. my other uncle (his brother) had open heart surgery about 5 years ago and my grandfather (their dad) had it in june 2006. PLUS my dad had it in february 2006 and his dad died of a heart attack when my dad was 17. scary stuff!!!! i know it's more prominent in men, but i guess i should start getting my cholesterol checked and stuff pretty soon.
Sorry to hear about your uncle...hope the surgery goes well!

then i'm going to go buy the last christmas present i need to buy! :woohoo:
Seriously?!? I'm so jealous! Last year, I SWORE I would buy Christmas gifts throughout the year so that I wouldn't have to do all the last minute shopping! Didn't happen!

Welcome! I'm also a newbie here who had two kiddos in three years. My oldest actually just turned 3 in October and my youngest is 11 weeks old today. So, I'm trying to get rid of the baby weight, too!

And I certainly can relate to the needing intervention for the DIS. I'm so bad anymore that I've given up television almost completely (and I'm currently DISing at work as it's only 1:00 here). But the good news is that the DIS got me off of eBay so I'm saving money. :thumbsup2
You just need to learn how to multi-task better then! I've got my baby on one arm, my laptop in front of me (w/ tabs pulled up for TGM, The Dis, WW, & ebay), and Y&R on the TV in front of me. I probably look really pathetic! Ha!:rotfl: But hey...I DID walk/run on the treadill for an hour earlier, so I look at it as recovering from that!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Turned cold here last night! Brrrrrr. In the 60's when I went to bed and now it's 40. :confused3

MRN.....Danielle is usually the last to post every night since she's in CA. You must be a night owl in MS!!!

Danielle....Glad the conference went well. I thought about that lil guy yesterday. How unfortunate that some parents don't even bother to get their kids to school some days. And there are some kinders here that just fall asleep when they get to school because their parents don't bother to put them to bed.....just let them stay up til they run outta steam. :sad2:

Heather....I'm so glad the Dr thinks Joshua is better. It's always so hard to tell with the lil guys since they can't tell you how they're feeling.

Faith....I too have stopped watching TV. At least the DIS is interactive. Right?! :thumbsup2

Birdie.....:welcome: We all know and feel your DIS addiction. I'm not as bad as I usta be but.....still may need some therapy. ;) Good luck on your weight loss. I counted calories so of course I think that's the best method. The formula......12 calories X Goal weight = calories per day. :teacher:

Everyone else
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I agree. Where did you the Ariel in your siggy from? The Little Mermaid is my fav.

I've been asked this alot lately. I just googled, disney animated clip art and found it that way. I have no idea what site. I have a feeling it has something like "I love Disney" in it though. I think this person has tinkerbell all over her site. Maybe later I can try to find it.

Two years ago Malorie got thrush. There was also a little boy in the day care who had a bad diaper rash on his bottom. I knew it went to a yeast infection. He couldn't keep his hands out the back of his diaper and he would just itch it all the time. They were treating him at home for diaper rash. They finally took him in 3 weeks later and guess what? He had a yeast infection. Once they treated him, Malorie's thrush was able to go away.

You just need to learn how to multi-task better then! I've got my baby on one arm, my laptop in front of me (w/ tabs pulled up for TGM, The Dis, WW, & ebay), and Y&R on the TV in front of me. Poor guy. I had thrush a couple of years ago. Hurts, so I can understand why he wouldn't eat. My guys was wonkers because of the Albuterol, so I understand. No more steroids for him after today and then I am starting to cut down on the Albuterol too (no more because bed, too hyper). Just before school and after school. I hope Joshua feels better soon.

Oh I know that site. I didn't know they had animated ones too. I will have to go check it out. Thanks.

Just wanted to wish everyone a good day today too.:cheer2:
