DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Hi everybody!

KAT - you look fantastic! Love your new 'do!

Rebekah is such a sweetie! That is some amazing technology...it's wonderful that you could do that treatment at home, instead of having her in the hospital for days.

Okay, I'm playing catch-up a bit, but here are my three "naughty" foods:
1. Ice-cold fountain Pepsi (not the same from the can or bottle)
2. Chocolate-covered pretzels
3. French fries

In spite of my love for these foods, I am STILL going to make a Thanksgiving goal (awesome idea, by the way). Here it is:

By Thanksgiving I will be out of the 180s forever and ever, amen. Right now I'm around 185 but that won't last long. Also, my exercise goal for that time frame will be to work out 5 out of 7 days.

We can do it! Makes me think of an incredibly corny song featuring the following lyrics - "Pulling together we can work it out!"

I am also wanting to leave the 180s behind forever. I did once but they snuck back.

I did NOT know that the short haired gal was EVENTER! I didn't know!!! I thought she was Punkie's friend! I feel SO badly! I really didn't talk to her much so I realllllllly screwed up! Eventer, I am SO sorry!!!! :hug: Please forgive me!

This chapter is reeeeeeally lacking, I think, but I was having too much fun to jot down details....so:

If you were there PLEASE contribute. Like a He said/ She said chapter. Or in this case, she said, she said, and she said.

The only thing I can contribute is wandering the Polynesian lost for a half hour and giving up at about 4:45 and trudging back to the monorail in the rain, disappointed. Sorry I didn't get to meet you!

i should've told you! i was so overwhelmed with meeting everyone and with the noise and everything else that i just didn't think about it. duh! now i feel like a putz! :sad2:

See, the competitive spirit in me (I'm the kind of guy that probably won't let my future-kids win at tidily-winks because I don't like to lose) likes this sort of challenge because I know all of you are going to succeed, and I'll be darned if I see all of you reach your goals and don't reach one myself. So in a purely selfish way, I'm suckering all of you into helping me! (Of course, I'll still be 100% supportive of all of you, because it also won't feel right reaching my goal and not seeing everyone else reach theirs. My psyche can be very complicated at times.)

You've been a GREAT cheerleader so far so it works for me. Besides, if I had a 25lbs lost logo on my signature, I wouldn't be having to work so hard before Thanksgiving....and after Thanksgiving......

With as many of us who have signed up for this challenge, you're going to be doing so much cheering that you'll probably lose weight anyway!!!!

okey dokey- lets do some math...

i read somewhere that in order to lose a lb you have to burn/not consume 3500 calories...:scared1: holy guacmomoli.... so based on this theory and the goal that i want to hit of 8 lbs gone forever by Thanksgiving...I figure I need to take the amount that i normally consume (a little over 2200 cals/day - sheesh no wonder i'm still fat) and lower it by 500 cals per day to get me to 1700 cals PLUS I want to lose a little more than a lb a week, so I want to burn about 500 cals a day exercising....

that said...today went like this:

breakie
banana and oatmeal 260

lunch 1/2 leftover cheeseburger 300( I could NOT face a salad today)&
apple with pnut butter 260, jello 10

snack peach 90

dinner 3:scared1: pieces (rather small ones tho) pizza 660
1cookie dessert with cool whip and 2 tbls strawberries...180

so today i went a little over on how much i ate at about 1800 clas...BUT

I did abs 20 min, plus 20 min walk, then 40 min on elliptical, and another 15 on treadmill...so i think i more than hit my 500 on exercise...

i found out that i waited way to long after my workout to eat...i shoulda had like a protein shake or a piece of fruit to get me thru then i wouldnt have eaten all the pizza..

and i coulda had a better choice than pizza but my boys chose dinner tonite, so i need to learn to hold back a little

Aaron, thanks for getting me moving towards my goal. I am writing down everything, and that way when I feel like I've slipped up, I can see what the damage is, and undo it. I'd been craving donuts for at least a week, and a student brought them in today because it was his birthday. I had one, then looked it up. 210 calories. OK, now I know. I had vegetarian chili for dinner, 240 calories, and one 100 calorie corn muffin, and a salad, 75 calories. I weighed out a half oz. of dark chocolate m & ms (80 calories), and sat and enjoyed each one instead of stuffing them into my mouth. I went out clothes shopping w/DD, who is a lovely size 2, and felt depressed because even though I'm close to my lowest weight in many years, my thighs were unacceptable in everything I tried on. Instead of coming home and eating, I thought about my T'giving goal and got on the exercise bike.
Punkin, I know you sympathize, because you have mentioned that you carry your weight the same way. You inspire me, because you look so great with your weight loss.
Everybody hang in there and keep your focus on your goals.
P.S. They caught a squirrel in my classroom ceiling today. The poor thing had almost starved to death. They let it go in the hills about 2 miles above our school. Let's hope that the end of critters in the classroom for a while.
 
This challenge is already working for me. I'm determined not to be the smallest loser!!! Tonight, when I got home from work, DS and a friend were here doing some computer wars (I have 2 computers side by side) and they had decided to order a very large combination pizza. Now, pizza is not one of my all time fav's but after 7 weeks of water, fruit and turkey breast, even the pizza box with the stuck-on cheese sounds good. But I didn't have any. I did open the box and stand there and smell for a good 2 minutes but I didn't even pick a piece of that cheese off the box.

Dawn, loved your legal brief story. When I was in the Air Force, my job was to do legal research for court martial defense. I once spent about a week in the law library doing research on animal sodomy. This was 30 years ago and yet the stuff I read is burned into my brain as if it were yesterday. I read a lot of fiction but that stuff was true and totally unbelievable.

That's pretty much why I decided to challenge myself like this. Friday weigh ins were getting a little too routine for me, and I needed something to re-motivate myself to seeing a good number every week. And what better way than to throw a goal out for the world to see. So I'm glad I could help others out in the process!

I was good food wise yesterday..however i DID have a small piece of apple pie..BUT i did take off all of the top crust, including the yummy end crust..sigh..and i paired it with Breyers Light Churned ice cream..WOW! That stuff is good 1/2 cup is only 100 calories..and it even has vanilla beans in it! WINNER!!!:goodvibes
 
OK, I am in on the Thanksgiving challenge too. I just don't know exactly how much I want to lose. I will after weigh in on Friday. It appears that I may have gained 10 lbs from WDW! :scared1: BUT AF is also here, so who knows. (It WAS more!) So, on Friday I will decide on the amount. I am thinking somewhere between 5 and 7 lbs. I am a bit frustrated right now, and I think this might be what I need to refocus and see some progress. I feel very much like I have been/am stuck in a rut. And I need to get out! I want results!

Tonight is agility class with Jasper. It's DH's turn to run her through the course, so I'll have to come up with something to do tonight for exercise. I'm not sure I feel like riding the bike, but I really should use the exercise ball. It's been ages since I've used that thing!

And I've been eating well, but I should start posting it again. Not sure when I'll be able to start doing it the way I used to, but I can tell you all now that my breakfast was Fiber One with a tiny bit of honey drizzled over it, a Fiber One bar, and a kiwi. And my lunch is leftovers from last night. DH made crab cakes! He's been wanting to try it since we returned from WDW, and he found a recipe where each one is 112 calories. They're small, but filling...and GOOD! :thumbsup2 And he made peach mango salsa to go with them! YUM! Not sure what dinner will be yet, but it WILL be good for me!
