DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

What was she on (or not on)?

good point about the "not on" part! there was definitely something "off" there. everybody keeps saying they feel sorry for her.....but c'mon! it's just like the lindsay lohan thing. you're given the world and look what you do with it!

Totally OT, but has anyone here every tried mineral makeup? I bought some Bare Minerals from craigslist and I think I really like it.

both my bosses use it and love it. i have really dry skin and don't use makeup on my face, only on my eyes to kind of hold my eye makeup in place. i just use moisturizer on my face. but i've heard that brand is really good and natural-looking!

PEEPS - i just updated my pre-TR with a mini TR from savannah and it includes pics of food from the lady and sons. you've been warned.

Ok this is very off topic and random, but I need some pixie dust for my face. It is a mess. I'm prone to breakouts, but typically only get a couple small ones around that time of the month or if I've been unconsciously touching my face a ton. Nothing major and if I can go without makeup (i.e. not working), I do.

But for the past few weeks, like since I started my externship, my face is horrible. I'm getting breakouts all around my mouth, chin and even a couple on my cheek. I never get any there. And they are the annoying painful ones. I wouldn't dare go anywhere without makeup now and even with makeup I'm feeling selfconscious. I have been out of my beloved ProActiv and just got it in the mail on Friday, but they are taking a long time to go away. I'm ok with the red marks, I just want the bumps gone. I didn't have this bad of acne when I was 17, nevermind now at 27. I don't know what it could be. Stress? Diet? Maybe the stress, but I don't feel that that stressed. And my diet has been no different than it usually is. Even totally off my diet, I don't break out like this. I just washed my make up brushes and changed my pillow case. I can't think of anything else to do other than wait and hope they go away soon.

Sorry, I know this is a very self centered vent, but I'm feeling very self conscious about it and it really started to upset me just now when I washed my face. :guilty:

Thanks for the Bare Minerals tips!! I got two foundation pots, a mineral veil pot, and a brush set, for $15 on craigslist (plus the lady delivered it to work), so I figured it would be worth trying.

D, I have really dry skin too... I have been using Olay under and then the bare minerals, and so far it seems to be working really well. I have a tendency toward ruddy and it takes it right away. Plus it doesn't seem to want to flake like liquid makeup does.

Edited to add... sending a hug to you Shannon! I got adult onset acne in my early 20s and it totally, totally sucks. Proactiv works pretty well, but nothing cleared it up like BC, Yasmin specifically. Drinking a lot of water is supposed to help too. I hope it goes away soon for you!

Wi- Sorry about the shooting. That is traumatic for all around, so here's a  for you.
Wish me luck tomorrow, peeps. I start my new aerobics class - for the first time, I'm not working for anybody else, so all the music and routines are mine. My hope is that people will actually show up -- and that if they do, they will actually come back. I know.....it's a silly thing to be concerned about with the really important stuff going on in the world. :goodvibes But it still gives me big-time butterflies.

Thanks! :hippie:
You'll be great! No worries:)

oh, and did you guys see this? i didn't but DH saw it today at work and told me i needed to watch it.

  :sad2: huh? what WAS that? i've never thought she could sing, but at least she was a good dancer and entertainer. i have no clue what THAT was. :confused3

Maybe she has the same cold I have, because that's about how zombie-fied I felt today. And speaking of snot, you should have seen the bubbles coming out of the kindergarteners. No wonder two of the other teachers are sick too. Nothing awful, just a super-runny nose, sore throat, and it feels like hundreds of pinpricks in my brain throughout the day.
Have I mentioned I hate fall? At least September. Big spiders everywhere, chaotic schedules, and colds that make you want to stay in bed, but it's 85 degrees out, and you have to go to work anyways. It steadily improves from the beginning of Oct. (I love Halloween). And I love winter (well, CA winter anyways). It's very romantic. Our anniversary is right after Christmas, and I've always felt that was the perfect time to get married. Long nights, cool enough for snuggling, and everything is sparkly and pretty.
"Wake me up when September ends":rockband: (OK they need a little more eyeliner to be Green Day). I'm going to try the exercise bike now. At least I can sit down while I exercise.:yay:

Shannon-It can be hormonal changes too. My skin has been more broken out this week than it has in years. I don't know what to do about that except talk to the dr. I'm just bringing it up as a possible cause.

good luck....i'm sure you'll do fine!

good recipe i wanted to share.....

take some tilapia, coat it in safflower oil, then sprinkle that yummy citrus seasoning on top and bottom, put on stove in a frying pan and cover with sheet of aluminum foil (not tightly - just lay it over the top) and let cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes. VERY yummy! and cheap! tilapia is so cheap and it's not fishy at all. i'm not sure about the calories yet.....haven't added them up. but i'm sure it's relatively low!

hello! i know exactly how you feel. Stress will do it every time. if you use the proactiv that helps but if you can try the mask they sell i find that helps control a breakout. use it as a mask but also as spot treatment at night. hope this helps you.( thats the white refining mask)

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Only 3 MORE DAYS til Wendy's big birhday! Heh.

DS was playing rough and broke my glasses last night. Frame broke, lense dropped to the floor, I cried, he walked himself to the corner. I hope I can get them fixed. It's good to see. But not good to pay another $300 for a new pair. Before vacation.

KAT....You'll do fine today!!! You know your stuff! Relax! Here's a good vibes-pixie dust sammich for ya. :goodvibes pixiedust: :goodvibes

Punkin....We DID see Britney live on the VMAs the other night. And may I just say :scared:

Shannon
....ProActiv will clear it up in no time.

ZigZag
....Congrats on the class!!! You'll be mahvalous!

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!
:flower3:

Kat dig deep - its all about you - you are worthy... believe in yourself - and sell YOU - You are strong, supportive, dedicated, kind.... GO FOR IT!! BELIEVE!! We're cheering for you here -

Punkin its almost as if "Brittney, she's so yesterday" Sad - very sad... I guess those 4am partying the night before didnt help. I dont like the media calling her fat - nekkid, ok, but fat - wrong!! (as in she looks better with cloths on!) I sure miss the live performances, when people actually SANG, live!

Welcome Big Mama!! How nice of you to jump in with help! I was going to say the same thing!! ProActiv worked well for my sons, when they used it... I have heard it can be harsh - as for cold sores there is a vitamin that works amazing Lyzine (I think that's wrong its Lysone... Ly something - guess I'll have to google!!)

Bare Minerals - I am an avid believer!! I have age spots tho - do know that at times if the humidity level is high, and you apply too much - your skin will feel "itchy"... it will pass, its the mineral mica - mica is also what gives BM the shine - so I used a pressed powder to take away the shine - I use their loose powder (its basically corn starch!) but even when you dont look shiny - have a picture taken, and shine shine shine! I love this stuff, its really hard to believe how little you need, so you end up over applying - if you have the bronzer stuff (I forget the name) be very cautious - I use it to help blend in my "age spot" and sometimes over do - I just use a dry cotton pad to rub it off!! The eye make up is wonderful - if you have any "glimmer" shades, you get your brush wet, dip in the dry and viola, you have an eyeliner or a real POP! You got an amazing deal!! There is a bare minerals forum on delphi forums I can send you the link if you want!!

Melinda good morning!! I couldnt sleep - dh decided he needs to work 60 in 4 days this week and next so he can take a "vacation" to disney!!

ITS FREEZING HERE!! yes - ladies the Black Cohosh is effective in stopping the hot flashes (thank goodness!) but the weather this am is 48 deg F!! Now that's COLD!!! How am I going to run in the cold? I'll need a hat, gloves and a scarf!! :rotfl2:

Shannon -- Any chance you recently started using a different tooth paste (especially one with cinnamon)?? Some people have a bad reaction to the stuff and it usually looks like acne... a friend of mine went MONTHS with three diff dermatoligists before finding out about the cinnamon online. Her chin cleared-up in days. You also might try putting neosporin on the affected area before you go to sleep at night and before putting on makeup. This works better than any acne treatment for me!! Good luck!!

i've been up since 5:00 this morning. i think my cold medecine is messing with my sleep. anyway, i took some melatonin because i'm off today and i'm hoping to get a couple more hours of sleep since i didn't go to bed til like 12:30.....

Ok this is very off topic and random, but I need some pixie dust for my face.

how frustrating! i was very fortunate and thankful to inherit clear skin from my mother so i don't have any advice for you. although i do believe that we each have our own blessings and while your skin may not be doing so great right now, you have many other qualities that make up for it! sending some good complexion vibes your way....:goodvibes

And speaking of snot, you should have seen the bubbles coming out of the kindergarteners.

:lmao: that just struck me as hilarious.

I cried, he walked himself to the corner.

:rotfl2: you peeps have me cracking up this morning. or maybe i'm just delirious from being up since 5:00 a.m.! good luck on the glasses.

yeah, she's definitely not fat. she's not as toned as she used to be, but she's still in great shape. but the media calls everyone who doesn't look like paris hilton fat. it's sickening. then they plaster girls who are too skinny all over the magazines and wonder why they're too skinny....because you just called them fat!!! to me britney just looked very uncomfortable and nervous. and stoned. :rolleyes1 and i agree about the live music......if you can't bring it live then you don't deserve my time or my money!!! anyone can lip sing!

GOOD LUCK TODAY, KAT!!! :thumbsup2

This actually could be the problem because it has happened numerous times before. I don't use cinammon toothpaste but the gel toothpaste (as opposed to the paste) irritates me. And if I use listerine before I brush, it makes me "drool" more while brushing and that makes me breakout too. Right now I'm using Colgate Total paste which I never thought bother me before but I might just switch back to original colgate. What a pain. I want them gone! Thanks for reminding me!

Awww, thanks. :flower3:

And thanks to everyone else for your advice and good thoughts.

Hope everyone has a great day...gotta go finish getting ready for work.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! Your support means a lot!

It went not great, but better than I expected. I think that they are going to work with me to get this thing done. The proposal didn't really pass, but they gave me a lot of pointers as to how to get it to pass. So I get to go rewrite, whee, and hopefully have a new draft to them in the next day or two. I have a LOT of work to do before my Nov defense but at least they helped with getting the road map together of where I need to go next.

So far I really like the stuff, but I do see the shine. I would love the link to the forum! It is definitely humid here so that could be why it felt a bit itchy. This is the 3rd day and I no longer really feel "tight" like I did the first day. It is so easy to apply! I have been doing the foundation ("fairly light") and then the mineral veil on top. The foundation gives me a nice all-over glow as I have very pale skin and need a bit of color. I am afraid of the "warmth", I think the fairly light does enough.

The pressed powder idea is a good one. I don't bother too much with shiny eyeshadows, I just do dark brown/black eyeliner and some brown shadow. My eyes are a very light blue so too much color and it doesn't really work.

Hope everyone is having a great day!! 3.5 more working days until Disney!

Totally OT, but has anyone here every tried mineral makeup? I bought some Bare Minerals from craigslist and I think I really like it.

I use Everyday Minerals and love how it looks and feels! (Less expensive than BM.) I have learned to not use a heavy hand when applying it, especially the blush! I had "clown cheeks" the first time i used it. The color is very concentrated.

oh, and did you guys see this? i didn't but DH saw it today at work and told me i needed to watch it.

I saw a little of the performance this morning online, but can't wait to see the whole thing. (Kind of like a car accident...you know it's bad, but can't help looking!) Talk about wasting your life! She's got 2 beautiful little boys, had a career, but is really blowing it all! :sad2:

Bare Minerals is Talc Free. If you use a mineral based makeup, don't use one with talc. Talc clogs pores.

I LOVE my Bare Minerals makeup. I can't say enough good about it. I know it's expensive, but I bought the Medium starter kit which has the brushes. I do not have it auto-shipped to me anymore because any savings would be eaten up by the shipping charges and they send me whatever "free gifts" I don't use or want.

Nordstrom has a set up of BM and you can match what shade is for you there THEN buy it on e-bay. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color called "true" for my eyes.

The great plus to mineral based makeup is the natural SPF in it! You don't have to apply gross sunblock before using it!

laptop has another bug in it, I cant copy or 'edit' - now my windows dont show that top line of file, edit, view, favorites tools help :confused3

google Bare Escentuals Addicts - and it is a "Delphi" forum... I found out about it from Christa - she used to post on the community board here at the Dis...

and you're right about warmth - a teeny tiny bit goes a very long way! I get addicted to watching the CEO Leslie on QVC - she applies just a teeny amount - and I get my supplies at Ulta - in our Sunday advertisements they have sales and coupons for $5 or 25% off a one time purchase!! Sephora also carries the line! QVC will do specials and I jump on those too!!

How's everyone doing on Drinking Water???

Hi everyone. :hippie:

We survived our busy weekend. :upsidedow

As Malorie says, "Now baby Madelyn can hear God in her heart!"

I'm uploading some pictures and when they are ready I'll post a few.

I for one love reading about your plans for the peep meet. As someone else said, although I am not going, it makes me feel a part of it. So, please keep planning along here.:surfweb:

Or I'm nosy a little too.

I feel for you...I never had a single problem as a teenager, but it came on after I got pregnant with Amanda and never went away.

Wow I googled Bare Minerals and I guess I did get a great deal! One of those foundations is like $20 at Sephora. She was selling them for $6 each, the mineral veil for $4, then threw in the 3 brushes for free, so all 3 + 3 brushes were $16. And it appears as though two pots of foundation will last me forever.

What is the blending brush for? I have the flawless application brush and the concealer brush, which I understand, but the blending brush I don't...

I will definitely try out the eyeshadow, maybe as a trial at sephora or ulta.

How do women wear suits every day? I wore this one today for my talk and I am seriously about ready to shred it. And hose MUST have been created by the devil. It is rather funny to get the double take from people at work though.

Oops I forgot.

One of the 4 kids that was going to stay at the other daycare is coming back.

And another old client called to bring their child back!

I forgot to bring my digital camera to the church. Actually I forgot my entire purse, so we bought a disposable for in church pictures.

Here are some pictures:
Here's a side by side of how Madelyn has changed since she was born:

This is LONG and slightly off-topic, but semi-on-topic b/c I have to deal with it when I go for a walk.

Then there are the four families who allow their children to use the street as a playground and provide little to no supervision. These children range in age from four (I'm guessing here and he may be younger) to 11ish. None seem to have the ability to look before crossing the street nor are they at all aware of moving vehicles.

I am terrified that I or someone else will accidentally injure one of these children backing out of our garages or driveways.

What do you think is appropriate in a community such as mine? Would you let your kids out to roam the neighborhood? Am I being too nit-picky? Am I being too "protective" of my property?
Where I use to live we had this horrible culvert out front. It was deep on both sides --when it would rain the water from up the way would rush in and flood out everything, but the culvert did its job--got all of it out of my yard pretty quickly once the rain ended. After many storms the girl across the street would come over and play in my culvert with the water racing past--one day she even put on a swim suit and played---she was probably 10 or so. I asked he nicely many times not to play there. Then I told her older brother who was in high school to make her stop. THe stopping point was when we had a major flood and she was playing in culvert. I got up went over to her house knocked on the door and told mom that we did not appreciate her daughter refusing to listen to us---that we would not be held liable if something would happen. She never stepped foot on our property again, but mom and I were ok---no hard feelings.

well after being gone for a while I have successfully gained all and then some...I am now a tad over my start weight...i am joining the band wagon again...start back at the gym tomorrow and start working on my 5K plan so i can handle the hike in Jan....

i could use some pixie dust - lots on my mind and in my heart that i just cant talk about so just lift me up if ya dont mind...tnks peeps:hug:

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Only 3 MORE DAYS til Wendy's big birhday! Heh.

DS was playing rough and broke my glasses last night. Frame broke, lense dropped to the floor, I cried, he walked himself to the corner. I hope I can get them fixed. It's good to see. But not good to pay another $300 for a new pair. Before vacation.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! [/B] :flower3:

I so understand about this. DS broke my glasses, bought new glasses through insurance and within a week he broke those as well. I have been without since July 5th.

Ryan update---his lliver biopsy was almost normal. Hardly any rejection left so they are not going to do anohter biospy--Praise GOD!!!. He still has the virus, but hopefully that will clear up soon. He asked the Dr. when he could go home and the Dr. said in about 4 weeks. So things are looking up. THey will continue to do lab work-- I will let you guys know if anything has changed.

THis is a stressful week--I am now working about 63 hours a week :scared1: I have class this weekend and the older 2 have commitments with their individual sport that I did not know about. Katie has swim trials on form 8-11, Andrew since he ran so well--his first meet he ran the 3 mile in 24 min 24 sec. and came in 5th for the school--now is has extra practices--so he has to be somewhere across town at 7:00 and I do not know when he finshes--my class starts at 8:30. All of our stuff is on opposite sides of town or in another town. Hopefully I will figure something out.

Joshua turns 2 on Friday:sad2:

I hope that everyone is doing well. Will check in again when I can.
