Have FUN Shannon

Punkin - see, that's FUN - its what I'm talking about - you just have fun written all over your personality!! :wizard:

Shannon I think Pakey's babies are the "fur LESS" kind... furless babies??? I know because I want one!! They can seem"ugly", but to me, I think they are cute!! DS is highly allergic to dog hair, it is a breed I'd considered, but couldnt afford!!

Pakey, I cant find my passporter, but I do have Yachtsman scheduled for one of our first nights!! We'll meet up!! It may seem awkward, but if we talk/chat/post up a bit, it will be better!! I'm flexible!!

 fur-less babies...you are right!

poodles and soft coated wheaten terriers are 2 other good breeds if you are doggie allergic...they are hypoallergenic and non-shedding (and they don't seem to "smell" like dog...at least my phoebe doesn't)

So some of you do that marathon in January? That's amazing. I could never do that. I can't even go to a gym--I don't want people looking at me!!!! I do walk every night with my two babies. I have my two little Chinese Crested dogs that I believe saved my life during chemo--on all of those days home alone, dragging myself around--they kept me feeling alive. Anyway....the female (of course, why is it always the female with the weight issues) is "fluffy" like me so I take them out every evening for a fast paced 2 mile walk. If it were not for those dogs needing the exercise, I would never do it.

We will arrive at BCV on Jan 13th and come home on the 20th. We prefer January because it's not too crowded. Unfortunately it takes an entire day to get there and an entire day to return. This will be our first time connecting in SLC--we've done Denver, Dallas and LA on prior trips. No matter which way we go, we leave here at 6:00 am and never get to WDW before 6:00 pm. And by then we are starving because we never have enough time to eat between connections and those $5 or $10 snack packs on the plane don't hold off a 12 hour starve-fest. So our WDW trips always start with a meal and it seems like food pretty much occupies a good portion of the rest of the trip too!!!!

Free dining would be my undoing for sure. I guess there is a blessing in that you can't use DVC points and get free dining. We have too many DVC points to consider going and NOT using them so I'll have to resolve myself to never having free dining.

We will be there in Jan too, but the 27th-31st. Sorry that I'll miss you! Hey, if you have too many DVC points you can always push some over to me! :goodvibes

I do have pictures of the meets - and I cant wait to share. The first meet at Ohana's felt more awkward for me - I felt left out - or hard to jump in and converse with Punkin and Eventar - Minnie Moo sat next to me, and we had great conversations... (I hope!!)

Hey Sandy, at least you managed to meet up with everyone, which is better than me! I wandered the Polynesian lost for a half hour looking like a dork, until finally DH got a bit irritated and we left at about 4:45. I was so disappointed. :guilty:

by the way, shannon, let me know how SSR is! we're staying there in april and i'm super excited about it. sounds like a fun mini trip you have planned!!! :woohoo:

We stayed one night at SSR this last trip and thought it was beautiful! Very well kept grounds, immaculate rooms. Make a request for the Congress Park area and a DTD view (which is what we had). It is a bit far from the main pool but the view is incredible. Plus you are a short walk from DTD that way.

I started back hardcore on the plan today. Man, it really, really bites.

I promise to start posting more than I am back on the wagon!

IM Back and Check the New Siggie will post more later back to the grind of school work!!

i would have never, ever posted a picture of myself like that one showing the lower half of my body 6 months ago, but thanks to my peeps and a little elbow grease, i'm starting to feel more comfortable about that!!!!!! :woohoo:

Pakey-I thought I quoted you, but I don't see it here. Where in central CA do you live? We are in south San Jose.
I know you mentioned that you don't feel the same way about DL that you do about WDW. Here's my take: WDW is a huge expenditure for us-lots of money, lots of travel time, and it's really an all-Disney trip because it's so self-contained. I always have huge expectations, and some part of the trip is always disappointing because of that. We get over-tired and crabby because we try to fit so much in, precisely because there is so much to do there.
We go to Disneyland 2 or 3 times a year. We can get a budget place that's closer than the DL hotel, eat either in or out of the park, extend our trip to visit family or do some other So. Cal things, like San Diego. It feels like home to us, so I can really relax there. And the weather is better. ( OK, part of why I'm saying this is to make myself feel better, because it will be at least another 2 yrs. before we can go back to WDW, and part because i want more peeps to come out here). That's my $.02.:)

We live in Fresno. DS31 and his wife live in LA; DS28 & family and DS26 live here. I agree that everyone should experience Disneyland and not just always go to WDW as S. California has a lot to offer for a destination vacation. And you are correct; the weather is much nicer!

Part of my problem is that I'm a workaholic and have a hard time leaving the work behind mentally. If I'm not getting on a plane and going somewhere, I don't feel like I'm getting away. DH and I take one nice vacation per year other than WDW. Last year it was Italy, this year we had to skip because of DS's Hawaiian wedding, and next year we are going to France. These vacations are not relaxing though because I feel that I may only visit these places once and I have to see every church, statue, piece of art, etc.!!!!! Then we take our family to WDW every 18-24 months. Those trips are not relaxing either as everyone has different things they want to do and as the schedule planner, I'm always trying to give everyone what they want--it's very hard to please 7 adults all at once.

So that leaves the trips to WDW that just DH and I take for ourselves. We do not commando the parks. DH is an avid golfer and he'll go out in the mornings and golf and I'll go to the spa or read on the condo balcony. We'll go to the parks in the afternoon for a few hours and then go back to the condo, hang out, dress for dinner and then go have a nice table service somewhere. I don't think DH has the passion for WDW that I have. He just wants to golf and eat. I do not like going on a vacation where he goes golfing and takes the rental car and I'm stuck at a hotel until he returns; at least at WDW I can go somewhere if I want. So WDW has become our compromise place for relaxation. We were actually talking last week and both agree that we believe the time will come that we won't even go into the parks except to eat (well, except for Tower of Terror and Buzz Lightyear rides).

We'll be at Disneyland for one day in a few weeks when we go to visit DS/wife. We have to try out the new Nemo submarine ride!

We got to ride twice this summer. The funniest thing happened in line. We saw a little mouse, and I pointed it out to two little girls behind us in line. One started screaming, "Kill it!" and the other one wanted to take it home as a pet.
The ride is cute, but I'm claustrophobic, so it's a little:scared1: hair-raising for me. I literally have to remind myself that if I stand up, my head is above water level.

This made me laugh. I remember as a child the first time I realized that we were not very deep in the water. I had looked up and could see the surface right above my porthole window. It was almost as bad as finding out that Santa didn't really come to my house on Christmas Eve!!!! The ride was never the same after that.

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

Woke up very late today!

Hope to hear from everyone soon to know that they all got home safely!

Aries...I booked the bounceback too! For 10 days with deluxe dining! I could win the Powerball between now and then! You never know. ;)

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

That is so true. When we lived in CA, we went a few times a yr and it felt so much more relaxing. We could take our time because we knew we would always get to go back soon. At WDW, that is not the case. It is too expensive for us to go that often, especially because we are a long drive away and have to fly. We almost went to DL this year instead when my Sept plans took a turn, but it would have been almost as expensive now that we live in TX....and no free dining. I think we will get back there next year though. For some reason gong there with a baby doesnt intimidate me the way WDW does.

have you guys ever watched the show "heroes"? ray downloaded the first season and now we're hooked. it's really good stuff!
It is very good stuff! We have been hooked since last year..the new season is starting off with a bang too..i am so glad..i hate when shows i really get into start to be crappy..( cough--Lost--cough) :lmao:

Oh I forgot to mention something kinda exciting!
Looks like I may get to the Food and Wine Festival this year after all...although I would have rather gone with "the boy" (who still has not called me back from Thursday :sad2: Whatever). My guy friend told me to not answer his call if/when he calls. Because apparently that is what he is hoping I will do...answer his calls, and come across as desperate, etc. I do not want to do that but not answering just seems like a game to me :confused3

Yay for food and wine fest! I think we will be going next October, since we are already heading to WDW this December...but that is def. something that would be up my ally! If you do go, please take pics and share them ! :)
As for the Boy...i like your friend's advice. Unless you are totally bored and really want to talk to someone on the phone at that particular moment..let him hang for a bit ;)

Have a great TUESDAY everyone!

I'm sooo happy for her and hubby to be, but my heart did sink a little when she told me. Like I am the loser friend who doesn't even have a BF, let alone a potential husband. I guess I need to stop thinking about it so much...a watched pot never boils.

I'm a little late on this reply... but been there, felt that! My best friend got engaged after a year and a half of dating. Which is wonderful- her husband treats her like a queen, but I felt like crap because my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years still hadn't popped the question (Hence the login name). And after 5 1/2 years, he decided that he just wasn't in love with me anymore, and didn't want to be with me - and give me the whole BS song and dance... yeah, he left me for a 25 year old, divorced mother of a 3 year old. Homewrecker!:furious: (We had lived together for the last 2 years)

Maybe we do sometimes "watch the pot" becuase we feel that we deserve what everyone else is getting too! AND WE DO, maybe just not with the people we want it to be with. So, while this sucks- we just need to use this time to make US better (lose weight, take up a new hobby, travel - whatever) and stop giving a d@mn about them. Gosh - did I just say that? (I think I need to take my own advice! :rotfl: ) I've had a really hard time with my recent break up, and it still hurts- my world was turned upside down and inside out. I've realized that I'm actually mad at myself becuase I've allowed him to make me feel like nothing. I mean - if I was something then it wouldn't have been so easy to walk away from after 5 1/2 years- right?! All things are easier said than done though... I know that there's a reason that things happen in life, although we might not alway know what the reason is (ugh... that makes me mad!) but it's for the best and this just means that there's someone better and more wonderful out there for you!

Sorry... I didn't mean to stray so off track on that one and turn it into something about me. :guilty:

must stop talking about food....
(I cant believe I didnt take more pictures of the F&W fest - Epcot It was much more crowded this time around (first weekend of F&W last year and this year) we just couldnt bear to stand in line for that long in the hot sun!! (Kinks will be worked out - confusing with some charging to the room, some charging to Dining Plan, some cash) I was glad we booked Party for the Senses I got my ice wine in, and I tried some amazing foods - Boma had ostrich offering the plate was spectacular, and a teeny tiny puff pastry with chocolate on top... I'm a picky eater!! Then the bison, that was great too - a lollipop of fresh mozerella cheese and proscuitto ham (Sorry I cant spell)

we came back with $55 in snacks!! :rotfl2: (we planned to use them in Epcot F&W, but the lines were too intimadating!!)

Grey Goose Slush and the Gran Marnier Slush :thumbsup2 hooked!! Italy Rosa Regal by Banif - check your wine stores for this beauty - its a "champagne" but so light, and fruity - its red - and its a reminder of EPCOT for us!!

Now my foot is almost back to normal, the top part of the foot is still too swollen to get in a shoe - I may just go for a 30 min walk anyway, I dont want to lose the momentum!! I did lose 3# since I've been back - go warm lemon water!! (I believe its all water weight - but I need to get it off my ankles!!)

SUCK IT UP and SUCK IT IN!! CHALLENGE>

1. 100 situps (come on somebody, dont make me do these alone - even if you do them in 25 sets 4 times today!)
2. 64 ounces (or more) of water!!

Oh I forgot to mention something kinda exciting!

So I booked a studio at Saratoga Springs (his fave). I've never stayed there so I'm looking forward to checking it out. I'm

My daughter and I just returned from Saratoga. Absolutely loved it! We were in Congress Park. I think we had a fantastic view - overlooking the quiet pool (with a nice large hot tub) and DTD. I think the location was perfect. The Springs is only a few minute walk if you need food, etc.

The quiet pool near our building was nearly the same size as the main pool and it was deeper than the main pool which was great for swimming laps. The hot tub was nice and large and great after all the walking.

We walked both directions to DTD. It's a bit of a walk but an easy one.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer what I can. I'm trying to catch up with daily life and start a trip report (darn laundry! and paperwork!)

Thanks for giving me the girls perspective on answering the boy's phone call. And I will definitely try to take lots of pics for you! It will only be one day but I'll try my best!

Thanks for the advice and thoughts. I tell myself to stop thinking about getting a boyfriend, and that is what I want to do but then I keep thinking about not thinking about it. Anyway, I'm doing the whole online dating thing now and it's going so-so. Got a weirdo and a possibly nice one yesterday. Hope you get over your breakup soon...don't know you from Adam, but we all deserve better than that.

Have a great Tuesday everyone! :goodvibes I personally hate my Tuesdays...why do I have to have all of my not so favorite clients back to back in one day?
