DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

I'm a day late (oops, I think I missed last week too) but I am holding steady.
My life is CRAZY. My DH had pneumonia, the squirrels decided my wood roof makes a good chew toy, the dryer broke, . . . . but I'm keeping an optimistic spirit and moving forward! I just need to keep away from the darn Halloween candy! I had better get back to cleaning the laundry room. They are delivering the dryer tomorrow (who delivers on Sunday? crazy!)

Awesome!!! I don't have a prize or anything for the first to hit their goal, but you do get a couple of these:

And one of these for good measure:

:cool1:

Way to go! :thumbsup2

The Friday morning update:

ARRRRRGHHHH! I hate the chart! Just kidding...just MY section. I can sooo do this! My official gain was 3.6, not 4...but here, let me eat an apple and it'll be accurate. :confused3
Hi Peeps...hope everyone is out enjoying their weekend. It is beautiful weather down here in Florida. Our first "cool" front came through and I finally had a day where I didn't break a sweat once...even sitting outside in the sun.

I have a random hair question (mainly for UtahMama since I know she knows hair ;), but anyone feel free to answer). I do not color my hair, but I have been consistently getting a full head of highlights. They've grown out quite a bit and I'm really "over" them and want to check out my hair "au natural" and then start fresh with something. My roots are my normal color, light-medium brown, but it gets lighter and lighter as my hair goes to the end. Is there anything, like a shampoo that will help the highlighted color to fade a little quicker. I don't think it looks bad persay but its bugging me and I'm growing my hair out which means never taking off more than an inch-ish. I've already switched from my color protecting hair products to regular moisturizing hair products. Anything else I can do?

Thanks Peeps! Off to finish watching the Ghost Hunters marathon from Halloween. I'm such a dork popcorn::
Get a SEMI permanent color slightly lighter than your natural color. Semi's go darker than permanent color and wont hurt your hair. NO ASH! Perfect for Autumn and Winter.

I'm not MIA at all! Really! I'm truly a busy gal with new daycare kids. A few days a week I have these 2 kids from 12:00 noon till 9:30 at night  They're good and their mama is paying me well, but still! I have little ones from 7AM till 9:30PM some days which for a Looooong day! I just want to collapse. Reminds me of those TLC shows of the moms of like 6tuplets who run in 6 different directions at once when she's trying to put coats on them. OY!

I tallied the pounds and the official LOSER is Lynda ;) FIVE big ones! She nicely evened by number out..thanks a bunch. Spongiedarling was in second place with -4, and WIDF and Gaia were -2.2's.

   24.8 Big Ones!!!!!

I'll do fabulously next time or I will be having voluntary organ reduction surgery, plus harvesting tape worms, starting meth, and wiring my jaw shut, and shaving my head (5 pounds right there!). Heaven forbid I get on the tread mill 30 mins a day, and eat leafy greens...:yay:

A Big Fat Warm WELCOME to those of you who are new! :grouphug:

This message came from Sparkpeople today. I don't know about you, but it was just what I needed.

"We keep hearing about how persistence is often the key to success. But what do you do when you've been striving for so long that it seems like your goal is never going to see light? How do you deal with the fear that you're about to fail? Simple. Give it just one more shot. And then one more. Think about the sweat and time you've committed already. You've come this far, you'd be unfair to yourself if you quit without a fight. Even if the odds are way out of your favor and you can't see how it can possibly help, reach out and take one last swing. You never know what will happen. Big, meaningful achievements don't just happen when everything goes your way. How many times have you seen tennis players make miraculous winning shots while lunging for a ball that seemed impossible to reach? Sometimes, you can find victory in the effort. "

Hope you're having a good weekend.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

My nemesis, DST, is finally gone! We're back to regular time! Did everyone enjoy the extra sleep???

Not much action here yesterday!? I hope everybody is out enjoying this beautiful weekend...except you New England peeps....sorry about Noel!

Pam! Things can only get better. I think the dyer delivery will be the turnaround point.

Danielle...What a great quote! Just get back on the wagon! :thumbsup2

I'm taking vitamins extra b's sudafed (I dont feel like I'm stuffy, no runny nose unless I'm crying I do have low blood sugar which can also make me feel dizzy so I'm eating every two hours - whatever I can - nothing healthy... I'm drinking water...

but its not letting up...

Sandy, I hope you get to feeling better soon!:goodvibes

Sandy....My mom has had inner ear issues on and off. That makes you really dizzy. Could it be that???

Praying you feel better very, very soon!

Oooooh susssssssshi. Well I can't have any yet (can't have raw fish with immune system deficiencies) but I sure can't wait until I can have it again. Let me know how good it tastes, okay?

My cousin, who has lost 30 lbs in the past 3 months, eats sushi almost every day for lunch. She does stay away from the salmon but otherwise eats a pretty good amount of it. I don't know the points but it she has lost that much weight without exercising, it must not be too bad.

I hate to make your mouth water even more for sushi...but it was REALLY good! So delicious! I did the same and stayed away from the sushi and some of the fried sushi (which was hard b/c it's some of my fave...but it's so sinful) they have, but just about everything else was fair game!

The best points website ever is DWLZ.com. She has the ponts to almost ecery restaurant and food on earth. It is better than the books at WW. You can basically eat about a million pieces of sushi for like 2 points!:lmao: It was one of my favorite meals on WW because it wasn't at all like dieting. Enjoy your meal!princess:
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that site...I had it saved on my old computer (before it literally blew up on me), and forgot all about it. So, it's back on my faves again!
And you're right...it's the only thing that makes me feel like I'm cheating on my diet! Love it!

I don't have any suggestions, but just wanted to say :goodvibes and get well soon!

Sandy, so sorry about the dizziness. I know sometimes Sudafed makes it worse for me. When I had vertigo where it felt like I was trying to walk in the spinning tunnel in the fun house, the doctor prescribed something, but I can't remember what it was called. I know that's not so helpful, but beg for drugs. I know there is something out there that really helped the nausea/vomiting I had.
Hope you feel better soon.

hoping for a skinny week for everyone!! Sorry I have been MIA, lots of issues here at home... But i promise i will try to get on more but i do think of my peeps everyday!

Thanks for the update. It sounds heavenly. And it's always so nice to feel like you cheated even when you are being good!!

Sandy Sorry you are feeling so awful. I remember the horrible nausea through chemo and the total despair of it. I'm sure what you are experiencing is similar and I feel for you. I'm sending major pixie dust.

Danielle Thanks for the inspirational quote. I was kind of feeling down yesterday as DH and I went out to lunch and I had to eat another salad with lowfat dressing and I really wanted fish and chips. Your posting made me feel a little better about the progress I've made and why I should keep at it.

Melinda You shrunk again and now we can see all of you in the pic. Looks good!!! Someday I'm going to have to quit "talking" so much and figure out how to do the small pic posting. And let me know when you want to move to CA and get a job with a free vacation a year!!! I do have some pretty great perks but must admit that I think the vacation is my favorite one.

Gosh the weather here is gorgeous today. DH and I took the dogs out walking to the park and it was so wonderful. The news said last night that the smoke/smog from the L.A. fires is heading into the valley this week so I'm glad I was able to get outside and enjoy a bit of the sunshine.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Faith

Thanks UM for the hair advice. I'm a little anti-hair color. Even hair color that is my own natural color. Strange I know. I think its because I know one day I will "have" to color it, and right now I don't really need to. Sort of like the whole shaving legs thing. My mom told me that once I start, I can't stop (unless I want to be an amazon woman). I feel like that with hair color - I'll never get my natural color back. Just a quirk of mine. I think I might get one of those rinses for brunettes or shampoo for brunettes and see if that will tone "up" the blonde. I can guarantee I'll be coloring my hair for real sooner rather than later though because I've sprouted quite a few new grays this semester. Yes new grays...I have old grays too.

Hope everyone has a great week! Thanksgiving is 17 days away! (I need to keep reminding myself of this...how am I going to lose almost 8 lbs in 2.5 weeks?!?)

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We went to some friends house to watch the Colts/Patriots game last night. The guys offered to do all the food! We girls were like "YAY!" So what did they buy.....ribs, meatballs, alligator meat, pistachios, and beer cheese. Veggies?

Faith! I've never even been to California!? I KNOW! But if that's where the paid vacation is, I'm willing to move. ;) That is a perk I have never heard of before. RE: pictures....if photobucket you can edit your pictures to avatar size and it makes them the size of my signature picture. Easy!

....Highlights are hair color! Highlights bleach your natural color to lighten it....permanently. Highlights do not fade and must grow out if you want to get rid of them. As Wendy suggested, a semi-permanent color slightly lighter than your natural color will give you a good all-over color to blend the highlights with your natural color as they grow out. A semi-permanent color will wash out in 6 weeks and will not be a maintenance issue...like highlights....which are a permanent change in color and a total maintenance nightmare IMHO. I speak from experience.

Gotta run...time to wake up kiddos.

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Good Morning Lovely Peeps! :yay:

Just popped in briefly to say "hi" since I've been away from the boards all weekend. It was beautiful here this weekend and I was busy. BBL from work to catch up!

Happy Day!!!:goodvibes

Hi Peeps! Just checkin' in. Things have been a bit crazy around our house for the past week or so. Hoping things slow down a bit after DH's b-day Wednesday.

Oh, and I seem to have gained back part of the weight I lost last week, as I predicted. :( AF is definitely on her way, and I am just hoping I can get rid of some of the water retention by weigh in on Friday.

I'll try to check in later Peeps. Have a skinny day!!!

Who here gets a real tree for Christmas? Alos, when do you guys put up your trees--fake or real? We use to put up a fake tree and it would go upt TG night or the next day. Now we do the real thing and it goes up anout 2 weeks before Christmas. I think we might go this weekend and tag our tree :cool1: Nothing like trees to put me in the SPIRIT :cool1:

Yes I totally hear what you are saying but it is a mental thing with me. :confused3 Highlights grow out (as does real hair color) and I know I could have my natural color back, but I just really don't want to color it. With color, not highlight stuff. I will think about it though. I'm also afraid that I will really hate my hair on the darker side since I've been pretty blonde for so long now. Anyway, I see your point, but they're still different to me  Stubborn much? I'm trying to think of an example so you can try to understand my stubbornness and stupidity but I just can't do it. I'll get back to you . ;)

We have a fake tree. We usually put it up the Saturday and/or Sunday after Thanksgiving. This way we can enjoy it as long as possible. :santa:

WELCOME!! to all the newbies. I saw lots of new names during my quick read through last night and this morning. Post much -- I'd love to get to know you.

I went to my parents over the weekend and saw lots of my family, many of whom I hadn't seen in quite some time. I got lots of shocked looks and quite a few compliments -- nice to be noticed!

:scared1: I think I did some damage on Saturday. I went to lunch with my mom and sister -- had a turkey burger on wholewheat with FFs (didn't eat all of the fries -- left a little over half). Not so bad, but then that night I went to the "Dutch Supper." My family is Pennsylvania Dutch, so meals filled with carbs have been a part of my life FOREVER. This dinner is put on by one of the local fire companies twice a year -- we go every time. They have slippery potpie, sausage, turkey, ham,Snitz and Knepp (dried apples and dumplings), rice pudding, smearcase and applebutter, Shoo Fly Pie, etc -- all served family style. Very little of redeeming nutritional value... And that's only the beginning. The only veggies available are dried corn (yuck), chow-chow (pickled veggies -- yummy), and green beans cooked in ham (yum).

I was fairly good, but I went in with a game plan. One plate only for dinner and one piece of pie -- no exceptions. I only took what I love -- potpie, sausage, dressing, rice pudding -- and turkey, green beans, and chow-chow to get lean protien and some sort of veggie. I also had a small slice of shoo-fly pie. Tried to eat s-l-o-w-l-y and then spent the time while everyone else was having seconds saying, "no thank you." Even with the moderation, I know that plate was FULL of calories. I'm hoping that my body won't even recognize all that junk and pass it right through. I'll be upping my exercise this week to try to counteract.

I guess I'll see the damage on Friday (perhaps with the bloat pounds I get back from last week, I'll come out even)... A girl can hope.

Anyhoo, this weekend just reminded me that the holiday binge fest is bearing down quickly and it is time to make a plan -- so I am working on my holiday eating resolutions.

I'm starting with:

1. I will not count calories all the way through the season, but I will plan indulgences.

2. I will only eat "cheat" items if I REALLY love them -- i.e. mashed potatoes do not have to pass my lips, but dressing will.

3. I will eat normal portions and pay attention to when I am hungry. I will not have seconds.

4. I will not drink my calories. (But I will have one glass of cider this fall -- hot so it lasts).

5. I will not go to open houses or h'orderves nights hungry -- while there I will keep my drink cup full to keep my hands busy and I will stand more than an arms length from the food. I will plan to have a few "little somethings" while I am there.

6. I will remember that I can have anything that I want, but I am responsible for what passes through my lips.

Anybody else?
