minnie moo - is it okay with you if i steal some of your pics from the ohana's meet for my TR? just wanted to ask first.

melinda - i already stole the one you posted earlier! :rolleyes1

hey everyone well I'm feeling a little embarrased over my earlier post.:guilty: Please believe me that I don't eat like that all the time. That was one of my worst days in a long time, that's why I logged the calories and keep it right here beside my desk. It's easy to lie to yourself about what your doing. That was me facing up to the damage that I was doing to myself. Dieting and exercising all week long is pointless when consuming a bunch of extra calories. I know that. BUT, some days are better than others. That calorie count was like a wake up call to me. I'm in a learning process about how to live a healthy lifestyle. That why I posted that, because I felt comfortable enough to share. I'm great at maintaining my weight, it's losing that's a little harder. But YAY me, :yay: I am almost at a 20 Pound loss! This morning when I weighed (yes I am one of those every day weighers) I was at 19 pounds. This has taken about (give or take) 3 months. It is all about learning my body, learning what to eat, and how certain foods trigger my appetite. So good luck everyone, happy weigh in, skinny dreams and all that good stuff.

Don't feel embarassed about your post. I'll bet many of us have had days like that. I wouldn't even want to think about my worst days and add the calories. And CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss. You are doing great!:yay:

Welcome new Peeps :)

They are so adorable!! I hope you get to keep them both!!! If they are Corgi/Yorkie mixes, would that make them Corkies or Yorgies??
Well, MJ, I would say the male is a Corkie, since he is very Corgi-like, and the female is a Yorgie!!! They sure are full of piss and vinegar tonight.

Great choice on the name Jasper! ;) (My wittle puppy's name)

And I'm sad I missed you too! I wish I would have planned that better. :( Well, hopefully we'll have the chance again someday!
I hope we'll have another chance to meet up too!

The puppy was already named Jasper like your sweet boy and it just seems to fit him!!! My hubby was thinking of Jack, but his dad's wife was horrified when we told her because that is her ex's name

We did change the female's name from Demi to Sukie.

First, those puppies are so cute!!!!!

And second, I wish I could have met you too, and Linda. Maybe next time. I am sure there will be a next time, right peeps?
I'm up for a next time, but I think it will need to be a cooler time of year :rolleyes1

Steal away!

Sandy! We'd love to see your DD's new do! I'm posting a couple pics here of your and her from tea with your bee-you-ti-ful BBB hairdos and that awesome slipper dessert.

Welcome Nikki and Tia!!

I had a bunch of quotes earlier but work got in the way and I never finished my post. Work is kicking my butt lately!

Tia, I am also 5'8. I started at 218, and am about 182 right now. I had been down to 174 but WDW intervened and I am mostly back on track.

I do calorie counting, and try to stay around 1200 most days. I do have cheat days, and try to keep them every 2 weeks, but don't always succeed, which is why I try to stay at 1200.

I did manage to avoid the fair food, and made it to the gym for 40 min/3 miles on the elliptical.

I found an engagement pic from 2.5 years ago that I don't hate... I am about the same weight then as now, so here it is:

Hi All! I am back from the beach!:beach: Of course I am now 10 pages behind!:scared1:
I knew y'all would hit the 20,000 post mark while I was gone! Hope you had a big celebration. :rockband: :dancer: party: I'll have to check up later, need to go to bed in my own bed. :cloud9: I am going to post my loss from Sunday's WW meeting tomorrow. Hope that is ok. It was a good one! ;)
I have got the weekend to work off what I gained at the beach. ;) :yay: (that is me exercising)

Hi All...

This is my first time posting, but I've been lurking on this thread for about 3 weeks. :scared1: I've been using that time to read through the 1300+ pages here popcorn:: :surfweb: (no, I didn't read EVERY page... but I read quite a lot)

Anyway, you guys seem like such a great bunch, and I'm in desperate need of some motivation to be healthier. (I'm trying NOT to make my goal to just lose weight... I want to be healthy overall.) :thumbsup2

I will post a "proper" introduction later, so as to give you guys a little background info. But for now, I just wanted to say...

Can I play too??? :flower3:

So I just read through some of the bios and realized I hadn't even thought of giving you all a face for the name. So here are a few pics:

This is me fairly recently and one of the few pics of myself I like (I think I'm fat in EVERY pic taken of me, whether I am or not...gotta work on that):

This is the face I make when I have to go to the gym:

This is my bea-U-tiful, soon to be Disney spoiled, godson:

Umm...and let's see, some more quick things about me (that also seem to be a theme on this thread):
I love to: read, scrapbook, nap, eat, go to WDW, travel in general, DIS, shop (shoes in particular), cry while watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (a perfect way to vent some emotion) spend time with my family, friends and the BF.

I don't like: the gym (but I do it anyway - my dream is a home gym), most green veggies, but especially cooked broccoli, spiders, "spinny" rides and reality TV...except 'Rock of Love' on VH1, which was suprisingly a mind-numbing, train wreck of a guilty pleasure.

I am back in school pursuing my second BA (the first is in English-Communications) for Psychology. (I would love to work with kids.) I work in the Finance department of a very large law firm.

I have known BF for 10+ years - we were friends for about a year, together for 4, apart for 4, and have been back together for 2 years in January. I'm very close to my family and have recently been getting back in touch with my 'spiritual' side.

OH! And I wrote earlier that I'm 28...see, I have this problem...where I forget how old I am? And not on purpose. I'm 27...at least until Sunday. THEN I'll be 28. :confused3

Um, I think that's it for now. :goodvibes

Welcome, and WOW! Both of you ladies are BEAUTIFUL, like movie-star beautiful! We're happy to have you here, getting healthy with us.

Don't be embarrassed about the post. My immediate thought was that I was glad that I am not the only one to have done this. We went to a buffet in Reno, and when we got home I tried to guess-timate the number of points on WW. It was over 50, or more than twice my daily allowance. Let's face it, none of us got here by just eating a few too many strawberries or a large apple instead of a medium. We all have the capacity to go whole hog, and we all have it in us (somewhere) to control that tendency, as evidenced by your big weight loss.

I didn't hear any roof rodents today, and apparently one of the traps is missing. I'm guessing we'll smell something soon.:snooty:

See you all tomorrow. Pretty numbers!:flower3:

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I'm out of time again today so no long reply. BUT!

I did want to say WELCOME to the fresh meat....I mean new peeps!

I'll be back to chat later!

HAVE A GREAT DAY! TGIF~

First things first, the LAST thing I think you should feel is guilty! I'm sure we've all been there. Geez, I think I've been there every Sunday for the past 10 weeks! Really? REALLY. (You and I both have no idea the number of calories consumed when we went to the Ren. Faire a couple of weekends back. :sad2: )

It seems like you've learned a lot from the whole thing - in terms of yourself, your needs and wants and balancing the two.

Not only that, by sharing your experience, I bet you actually made others on the board (posters and lurkers alike) feel better by eliminating that "OHMYGODI'MSOTERRIBLEIATELIKECARPTHISWEEKENDANDI'MTHEONLYONEINTHEWORLDTHATDOESTHIS" feeling that our good friend Guilt brings on.

(Um, think there's a similar support group for buying too many shoes? Because, um, I have that problem too and the Shoe-Buying Guilt Fairy has my number on speed dial.)

And also, Congratulations on the loss!!! :cheer2: That's wonderful. I think maintenance is sometimes as hard as losing.

:goodvibes

Good Morning and TGIF! Welcome to the new peeps! (Tia and Nikki, right?)

I didn't weigh this morning for a bounty of reasons ;) 1. AF is on her way and I'm feeling it. 2. I've been eating like carp since my cousin has been staying with us and she can eat more than my mom and I combined. We have SO MUCH junk in our house food-wise. 3. My cousin is sleeping in the guest room where the scale is so I couldn't weight as soon as I woke up like I usually do. There, good enough?

I have a new patient evaluation this morning that I'm really nervous about...a severe stutterer, 20 yrs old. My stuttering experience is limited and I've never done an eval so wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great day! So glad it is Friday. :cutie:

P.S. Someone posted cute doggie pics of Corkies/Yorgies. They are adorable...glad they found a good home :goodvibes

-2 pounds I guess nursing is burning all those bad calories that I have been eating. I stay hungry all the time. I still have another 8 pounds to go to pre baby and then an additional 15 pounds. I would like to have lost all the baby weight and then some before I head back to work. We will see. Have a good one everybody.

hey everyone well I'm feeling a little embarrased over my earlier post.:guilty:

no need for embarassment! that's what we're here for......sort of as a confession booth of sorts! and everyone has been in your shoes.

Steal away!

thanks!

i hear ya on the shoe-buying addiction. i've tried to calm down the last couple of years, but i used to be HORRIBLE! when we moved into our house i was packing up our shoes and DH had about 10 pairs compared to my 155!!!!! it's ridiculous.

I've been eating like carp since my cousin has been staying with us and she can eat more than my mom and I combined.

really? what exactly does a carp eat? :lmao: sorry. i proofread for a living (though you'd never know it by some of my posts) and i couldn't help myself. good luck with your patient.

all right, peeps.......i'm -1 pound today. do you know what that means? that means i'm 1 POUND AWAY FROM MY GOAL!!!!!!! this deserves a banana man.....

hope everyone has a good friday. i'm off to get a haircut, go by the bank and then come home and clean my house from top to bottom!

 I actually purposely put "carp" down instead of crap. Wasn't sure what gets censored around here. Trust me the anal, ocd in me hates mis-spellings! ;)

Don't feel embarassed about your post. I'll bet many of us have had days like that.
Days? Heck, I've had MONTHS like that. Which is pretty much what got me to 240 in the first place.

That is AWESOME!!! I am so proud of you! That doesn't deserve just three banana mans, that deserves about 10 of them!

And one of these for good measure!

:cheer2:

As for me, my home 'puter took a turn for the worse late last week, and someone in my department at work retired and guess who they decided to give her old job duties to, in addition to his usual ones? Yep, yours truly. So all of that meant almost zero, zilch, nada DISing for me. But the good news is that I lost 3.6 pounds this week, which puts me exactly at my pre-WDW weight (but sadly I'm still 1.6 pounds away from my lowest weight of almost two months ago).

After I got back from WDW, I decided to set a short term goal to reach by Thanksgiving. I was 186 my first weigh-in after WDW, so I am setting a goal of 175, or 11 pounds lost, by Thanksgiving. So this 3.6 pound loss is a good way to start.

I am challenging all of you to set a goal that you would like to reach by Thanksgiving. It can be a certain weight you want to reach, or maybe increasing the distance you walk by 1-mile, or even something as simple as cutting back on soda to once a week by Turkey-day. Anything that will help you achieve your goal of a healthier, happier you! Of course, you don't have to post it here if you don't feel comfortable doing so. But I will be reminding all of you on occasion to keep up with that Thanksgiving goal. Together, we can accomplish anything! (How's that for inspirational?)

Way to go. I have a goal between now and Thanksgiving. I want to lose about 10 pounds. That was put me at 2 pounds under the weight I was when I got pregnant. I think I can do the 10 pounds. I am cutting out a lot of Junk, but after Sunday---we have Joshua's family birthday party on SUnday--so Monday morning I will start no carb. drink until I have all my water in for the day. I will also start walking again--maybe stroll Rebekah through the neighborhood each morning when it is nice and cool. Good luck with your goal.

Aron--nice to see you again!

I am with Shannon on this one..i am not doing an official weigh in today. I did weigh myself, and it was a number i didn't like >BUT for once i did not freak out or get depressed. I know why it was a bit higher
1. i did NOT drink as much water as usual ( still over 64 oz every day but not the 80-90 i am used to)
2. because of the long weekend i ate without counting calories 4 days ( fri-mon!) this week..obviously that was a no-no . i didn't go CRAZY but i didn't eat all the fiber and good stuff i normally do
3. Water retention due to quite a few salty foods.
But i am ok with it. I still worked out, pants and tops are starting to fit better..so i am cool with not seeing a loss..BUT believe you me, i will probably weigh myself again sunday or something expecting great things ;)
Have a great day !

I will take that challenge!!...i am going to be super reasonable ( i think) since i am such a slow loser..and say i would like to lose 5.5 lbs between now and turkey day...as long as i dont' have another week like this one i should be ok! Thanks for the motivation! :)

SAME

Gracious, I need to kick my behind into gear. This weekend I'm going to the ocean, but come Monday I am recommitting to 2 miles + per day and calorie watching!!

Gotta go, need to finish a project before I leave at 11:30.

Smiles

I'm a SAMER this week. I know next week will be a negative number though! I have maintained my pedometer goal most of the week and now I just need to get my water intake back up. My food choices are getting much better - just need to be consistent.

Punkin - Congrats! One pound! You can do it!:cheer2:

I've got a crazy day. Oldest DD needs new pointe shoes ($$$$$) and I need to get two bedrooms painted before I teach a class this evening. Wow, I shouldn't have typed that I feel behind already. . .

Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!
