My DD is 13 but in 8th grade and as the youngest in her grade. We have gone through our share of song debates as well. I think the Gwen Steffani song is alright. Bottom line...they will hear it...they will listen to it...but their reaction to it comes from you.

I say talk to them about the lyrics. Have them read it aloud to you and explain in their own words what they hear. If it is a song they are too embarrased to read out loud...then it is a non negotiable.

Just my opinion

I think that is a very intelligent decision. It sounds like you have thought this out well. Amazing.

Thanks everyone, I find it interesting to get everyone's opinions...

I just feel so old...

I'll stand my ground - ds girlfriend is a great dancer/choreographer and she called, she is gonna try and come over and help dd Friday!!

Thanks for all on your support today on so many topics we all face. Each life stress can result in food stress and we are better than Richard Simmons in short shorts!

wow now i feel bad i have both those songs on my ipod . but i am one of those who believe that you can listen to anything as long as you don't take to heart what the words mean, my brother is in a band that is anti-death metal i listen to that and support him but i don't really take to heart what his lyrics are... i am gonna be in trouble when dd 5 grows up....:confused3
