So....Stupid re-runs!!!! I look forward to mind-numbing entertainment and it's a re-run! DANG!!!! I guess I'll watch my recorded "stories", All My Children. I've watched it since before I was born.

UM- that is how I am with General Hospital. I have watched pretty much all the ABC soaps since before I was born. I remember being home sick from school at about 7 or 8 yrs old watching them with my mom. Heck, we even got out of the pool in the summer so we didnt miss it. I still catch AMC but not every day.

Goodnight everyone!

Hey Peeps! DH got back from the grocery store with my Kashi Go Lean Crunch! He got the regular because they were out of the honey almond that I wanted to try. This stuff is delicious!!!!! I can't believe it! I am usually not a high fiber cereal fan! But I love this stuff! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I eat mine hot some mornings. 1/2 c. of milk, 1 c. cereal, 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave, and YUM! However, I cannot eat this cereal on a work day because it makes me toot! I don't know what the deal is, because I eat a lot of high fiber things, and a lot of soy, but this cereal gets to me. I just make my poor family put up with it. I was chuckling today, thinking about a boy I knew in high school who thought women didn't toot. I said, "What about your mom?", thinking about my own mother. He got so mad, he told me to get out of the car (which I didn't. The car was moving at the time.)

So am I the only one that got kicked off a little while ago! I had all my multi-quotes ready and I went to click to the next page and WHAMMO - no can do! Darnit, now I will have to go start over.

I do remember a couple of things though!

Welcome back ARIES, we missed you! Sorry about your car - I hate when that happens and it is never cheap!

BOB and PPP - Okay, I get Bob, but not PPP - do I even want to know. I think it was the word personal in it. Nevermind! I am so out of it!

Pooh Muffins - I will have to try those. I still haven't made the cake and soda cake.

Crystal light (Knock off Walmart version) Peach tea is great! The whole family likes it. They also like those bottles of flavored water from walmart - carbonated but no calories.

The Kashi oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are very good!

On TLC tonight there was a show called, I eat 33,000 calories a day! Wow! They showed people that really eat between 18,000 and 33,000 calories a day. Needless to say, it showed. Interesting stuff.

Dismom - I have started packing lunch for my DD. Typically, I pack a sandwich, raw carrots and broccoli with light ranch, sun chips, fruit and bottle of water with crystal light pack. For snack she takes a few triscuits with sliced cheese - hmmm that sounds good! Maybe I will have one! It is still Sunday!

I wish I could stay longer but I have to get enough sleep to deal with a new computer system in the morning......ggrrrrr

It's cold and icky here, snow flurries on and off all day. I hate being cold and I had to go to work on my day off so I've been super grumpy the last few days.

I did get my scrapbook for the circle almost all done. I have 1/2 of a page to do and that isn't going to be hard since 1/2 of that is my picture.

Have you PEEPS not heard a word I've said???? :scared1:

or maybe.... hmmmm

ok... just for the uninitiated... in computer speak bob is an acroynm for "battery operated boyfriend" somehow I'd feel real funny wearin Bob helped me get here... :rotfl2:

I dont get it. I get the acronym, naughties!!!! Is it Bob Greene?

I dont care what it says. If it's FREE!!!!:rotfl2:

It can say :

" BODY curtesy of Colon Blow and Pooh Muffins " for all I care!!!:lmao:

It's festering a toxic MUSHROOM CLOUD atom bomb explosion around bedtime tonight!!!!!!

Consider yourself warned!!!!

It'll be the equivalent to Mentos and Coke out the other end!!!!!!!!!!

"ok... just for the uninitiated... in computer speak bob is an acroynm for "battery operated boyfriend" somehow I'd feel real funny wearin Bob helped me get here... "

Thanks for that...

That is so funny!

I have joined a group of legally insane women and one funky grumpy.

I simply picked Bob as a name that was short to go with crack . It could of been the crack of Jack or the crack of Richard (put in here the nickname) or the crack of Stu. It could even have been the crack of Muffy or Buffy as well for those who think I am being sexist.

Battery Operated Boyfriend did not pop into my mind on any concious level - :rolleyes1 although it is really good and it made me feel slightly horrible that I did not know it.

If I had been reffering to that ...it would have been PPP. I understood the BOB thing but this one has me:confused3 .

Thanks and oh yeah,
In our family I say..."I was up at the butt crack of me!"

P.S. Bee is on her way home...she is awesome and you all need to meet her!

I was sitting here :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: reading all this. Y'all are way to funny some days.

My sis was telling us about a guy who came into her work one day and she made me laugh at the same time I tried getting a drink of lemonade and to avoid spraying out my nose, I wound up spitting it all over the floor int he kitchen. Of course, that made her and DH :rotfl: :rotfl: even harder. It hurt though.....

My favs are WM brand Cherry limeade, and grape, and cranberry apple...I struggle with getting enuff water in too...this helps me alot...I'll take 2 of the individuals ("on the go") and put them in a 1 liter water bottle...drink away! drinking from a water bottle helps me gauge how much I actually drink, instead of guestimating

That's what I do too when I'm at work. I make a pitcher of the ones from the cups and fill the bottles (I add extra water to make 2L) I take full bottles and then refill them with 2 sticks of powder. My faves are the peach and strawberry (why can't they make those in the sticks?) I also like the cranberry-apple, but I mix one cranapple and one apple when I make it.

Thanks UTM for the repost of the Pooh muffins. I have all the stuff, I just couldn't remember how to make them. I copied it this time though so I won't lose it. I didn't copy the soup recipe though but I think I found it online. DH made the one found and it is so good! All those veggies...yummy! (I copied Bee's fires and Grumpy's BBQ Pizza when I sat those last week, so I've got several PEPs recipes already :) )

Stacy~ Glad to see you're feeling better!

Dancer(?)~ I'll be going solo for the PEEPs meet. I wouldn't mind a roomie if that's what you're thinking.

Well peeps, it's 12:15 here and my alarm goes off at 5:30...... I've got to get to bed.

Jen, I see you have the 2/28 birthday. Mine's 2/25 (different year, but that's all I'm saying about that). We'll have to celebrate together. Love your pictures. Why is everyone on this thread so-o-o-o-o good looking?

I made the pooh: muffins today, and they were delicious. I borrowed my mom's cooking thermometer, and found out my oven is off by 60 degrees. I had to set the dial at 410 to get it up to 350 degrees.

I also made curried shrimp tonight- easy and just 6 pts on WW.

Cook 1 c. brown rice, following the directions on the package
Saute 1 lb. of shrimp, and drain the excess water
Measure 1 c. 1% milk and add 1 TB cornstarch and stir
Pour the milk & cornstarch in with the shrimp over a low heat
Add 2 tsp curry powder and salt and pepper to taste
Bring to a low boil until the sauce thickens
Add to the cooked brown rice

This makes 4 servings. Add lemon juice to taste. Very filling and yummy.
Sometimes we add raisins to the dish, too. Just be sure to count those.
My bil is part Indian, and he likes chutney with it. Not sure how to count that.

So where is everyone tonight? DH is a rerun. :confused3

DH is a rerun. :confused3 Were you expecting a different DH tonight?

Wonders - I would love to hear about your trip! We live about 9 hours away. And I thought about trying to convince my DH we should make a weekend trip just for Pirates and Princesses - think it would be worth it?

I am watching the newer version of Stepford Wives right now - I know it is dumb, but some of it is soooo funny!

All right, I hate to ask again, but we still need pixie dust and prayers (mostly prayers) DH does have a bad prostrate infection and with his history, we are suppose to go see a urologist for an ultrasound (and they don't look at his abdomen  ). The last time we went throught this about 4 years ago it was very bad. He ended up in the hospital for a week and the infection ate about half of each of his... well you know. There is an hilarious story that goes with this but not sure if I can tell it here. Our pastor thought it was funny!

I go to the dr. at 4:00 tomorrow. My hip is killing me tonight! So I am not sure who is taking who to the dr. tomorrow.

Stacey, sorry about the run of bad health in your household. You and DH are in my prayers. Could you tell your story in code:crowded: ? Inquiring minds want to know!:hyper:

Danielle,I just popped over and read your trip report,Very Good!!

Stacey,sounds like a good lunch.I just packed DDs lunch-turkey andwich,carrots,fruit salad,and water.:thumbsup2

I know that some of you are encouraging healthier choices for your kids as well. And I think that is great. But I just want to offer a little tip (I don't know what to call it so I'm calling it a tip) that reminded me of earlier today and some other recent things. My niece is 6 - a gorgeous little thing, going to be pretty tall someday I'm sure and definitely not fat or overweight in the least. Well my DSIL gained baby weight with her 2 kids and has since lost all of it and then some. She's about 5'10" so I personally don't expect someone that tall, to be a size 0 or 2 unless you're a celebrity or something. Well, everytime I see her I swear she is thinner. And all she talks about is food and calories. I have done lots of research on eating disorders and I don't think she has one but she is definitely pre-occupied with weight and food and crossing the fine line between normal and excessive. And I feel like she is passing it on to my DN. My niece does like her sweets and other snacks and can be picky at times but she is totally healthy and not fat. But my DSIL weighs her a lot and limits foods to the point where I feel like she isn't playing the motherly role of keeping her foods healthy - it's more like I don't want a fat kid so I'm not letting her eat this. Anyway, my point is this. And again I don't know the ages or even genders of your children. But be gentle and smart and mindful of what you are saying and how you are saying it. I can even think back to growing up all the way until now and MANY of my aunts/mom, etc conversations had something to do with food - being eating too much or going on a diet. I didn't think it was weird at the time but now I'm realizing that it probably isn't normal to talk about it on a daily basis.

Really I was thinking all of this in my head before I even read about the kids of fellow peeps so I think part of me just wanted to get it out, since even my mom noticed and mentioned to me that she thought DSIL was getting extremely thin. Anyway, vent/"tip" over. Nighty-night peeps!

S.Poppins - will give a little blurb about my trip tomorrow! I'm pooped!

This story reminds me of my own sister. She has said from day one that her DD would not have a weight issue like she has always had so has limited her food severely with few exceptions. So far her DD has not seemed to notice but we are worried that she will realize how strict her mother is.

My DD7 is what some may consider overweight(chunky,a little heavy, etc)and the Dr. says she is fine but to make sure she is active and eats a healthy diet.My Dd loves all food(except hot dogs) and has a HUGE appetite.I just have the job of steering her toward the right kind of foods. It doesn't help that she is two inches taller than her brother who is 9 yrs old and about 25 lbs heavier. She is teased at school and has made the comment recently that she is the fat sister and DD2 is the skinny sister.:sad1: So I feel that it is time to intervene,Sorry I am rambling...
WDW2006014.jpg

Here is a pic-isn't she beautiful? This is last Sept.,she has grown about an inch since then.

Danielle - :rotfl2: :lmao: :crowded: I just got that! Yes maybe I can use code!

Dismom - My daught is getting use to the healthier lunches. It is actually a lot of food

Wonders - I have had those fears. But my DD is 11 and weighs 10 pounds less than me. I did not intervene earlier because I did not want to focus on weight. That is why we are doing it as a family. She hated the way she looked and the fact that she can't wear the same clothes all her friends are wearing. For every 10 pounds we lose, we are going shopping. I am trying to keep it life-giving. I keep stressing this is not a "diet", it is a lifestyle change. I am not being extremely strict and trying to set reasonable limits. It has been a balancing act though! You are right, I see so many girls that are obsessed with weight. I don't want my DD to be that way, I just want her to be healthy and feel good about herself. At WDW, my in-laws had to use scooters because of their health problems which are largely related to their weight. I do not want that to happen to our family. Trying to stay balanced though. Thanks for the advice.

Stacey,I am trying not to use the word diet around my DD either. She is younger so I just tell her that healthy food will keep us healthy.Sometimes she says things that worry me though.Last night she went to a slumber party and the first thing she told me was what she had eaten and that she had not eaten a cupcake and wasn't I proud of her.:sad2: I told her it was okay to eat a cupcake at a party but she said she would wait until I made diet coke cupcakes. It is a thin line we are walking on ....

What adorable kids - Dismom!!

Okay Danielle, just for you! Here is THE STORY of DHs :crowded:

I guess about 4 years ago my DH ended up with a pretty bad prostate infection that went very wrong. (side funny story: About 6 months before this he had kidney stones that required surgery and a stint  yes there, then he had to go in and have the string pulled out! While he had the string he was very nervous about anyone hitting him there or anything, especially our DS who was about 3. So while DH and DS were out checking the mail and talking to our sweet neighbor, Sunday school teacher lady our DS tells her with gusto, "My daddy is sick and went to the hospital, and now I can't touch him there (gesturing) anymore!" Nice, DH was slightly speechless!:rotfl2: Kids say the darndest things.

Anyway back to prostate story. So one day, DH starts complaining of this weird pain, very low on one side. This pain quickly escalates to excruciating! We go to the family dr. who does a very painful prostate check  DH literally screamed and almost passed out. So Dr. thinks that is strange - maybe it is appendix. So we go to hospital for a cat scan of is appendix. Did I mention that we have no health insurance at this time. So I am sitting there filling out paper work and asking DH, "Are you sure it reaaalllly hurts?" Yes, he insists he is dying. So cat scan is fine. Back to dr. "Huh, that is unusual, I am not sure what is wrong, maybe we should admit him anyway because he is in a lot of pain." DH was not in the room, so I said, "No, just give us some drugs." So he gets an antibiotic, it gets worse. We go to emergency room, of course I am adding up the $$$$$ and getting nervous. In the emergency room, the guy kind of presses on his pelvic area and DH agains begin screaming. DR. "Huh, not sure, maybe he needs to lose weight?" Now I am no dr., but that just didn't make sense. I aske them to call a urologist - but no, this dr. thinks he should exercise :confused3 So we get a stronger antibiotic and head home again. DH literally roles on floor howling for another day. We finally get into the urologist. I guess this is the first time that we realize that one :crowded: has grown quite LARGE.
As soon as dr. presses on it, DH howls (I am finally starting to believe that maybe he isn't just being a tittybaby). So Dr. decides he needs to have a :crowded: ultrasound. Yippee! Sounds like fun (again I am thinking $$$). To ease DH's suffering the Dr. gives him some Staydol (sp.?), which makes him mean. So we go down to outpatient x-ray to get the ultrasound. I am sweating bullets filling out more papers $$$$. Then they put him in a wheel chair and a little old lady leads us down the hallway. I am pushing the wheel chair for my drunk DH and accidentally hit one wall. He turns around and very loudly with a slur and says, "You idiot, can't you push this thing straight, why don't you let her push it!!" (Pointing to the 99 yr. old lady walking with us!) Sure honey!

Anyway, we make it to ultrasound and this is where it gets really funny (now anyway). They take him into the room. They did not let me go. DH was very nervous about this and the Staydol had worn off. So this cute little nurse goes in there to perform the ultrasound. (This is DH's version of what happened) Cute little nurse comes in and hands DH a little towel and tells him to take off his pants and lay  on his stomach and cover it with a towel. Then she leaves. DH totally panics because he has not seen  in over a week. He compared it to a turtle. So he ends up really tugging and pulling and trying to not be embarrased. Anyway cute nurse comes back in and does the ultrasound. It is at the end of the day and our dr. had told us to get the ultrasound and come back tomorrow. The nurse comes out to talk to me and asks if we are going back to the dr. today. I tell her no. She looks weird and recommends we call our dr. and ask for the results. She can't tell me anything. Eventually our Dr. does call the waiting room to talk to me - not sure why he did not just walk downstairs to tell us! So on the phone, he tells me your DH has a really bad infection in both ...and one is really bad, he may lose that one. So we are admitting him. :scared1: Needless to say we were shocked. Before it was over he was in the hospital with a little :crowded: pillow to keep them elevated. He did have some damage to both, but didn't lose anything. I have wondered though if it has prevented us from having a baby - we have tried. But I have endometriosis so it could be either of us. I have just left it to God.

So now that we have had a good laugh at DH's expense... Really, he loves that story too. Wasn't funny at the time though. Oh, and God did intervene with the bills. Voc Rehab paid for most all of it.

Hope we don't get in trouble.
Wendy, let me know if I should erase this story tomorrow!

Danielle,I just popped over and read your trip report,Very Good!!

Thanks. It's nice to know it's still alive.

Stacey- Your poor DH. :rotfl: :sad1: . I did let the 99 y.o. candy striper push my husband out to the car after hip surgery, and when she closed the door, she hit his foot on the side the surgery was on. He howled so loud, I bet she quit that day. It's a good thing you pushed him yourself.

I'm just cracking up, thinking about your DH trying to get the turtle out of its shell. :lmao: Sorry!

Danielle, I didn't know you had a trip report too. So many to read and I haven't even started mine. But the dining review is almost done!

When I am 80, I think I will go volunteer at my local hospital! I hope tomorrow's ultrasound goes better.

GOOD MORNING......IT'S A NEW WEEK!!! :sunny:

Does tea count?
Like AmyDisMom, I take a water bottle to work so I know how much I'm drinking...and it seems to go down easier than out of a glass. :confused3 Anyway, I keep Diet Lipton Green Tea "on the go" packets in my desk drawer when I get sick of the water. It's very good....tastes kinda like lemonade. And green tea is supposed to curb your appetitie. Bonus!:thumbsup2
are you sending their lunches to school??If so what are you putting in them??
I stopped buying chips about a year ago. We have never kept soda of any kind in the house. There was never soda in the house when I was growing up. (probably because my single/divorced mom couldn't afford it.) But I think it has saved us calorie wise.

My kids get a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, nutragrain bar, a string cheese, go-gurt, piece of fruit or carrots/dip, and a water bottle or juice box.
NSalz is ok. Did she post here that she got Bells Palsy on Wednesday?
 Prayers for nsalz and her family.
Hellloooooooo:) i am catching up on post and some bio's
Misty...how's Mayson? Hope you are getting more rest these days.
However, I cannot eat this cereal on a work day because it makes me toot!
:lmao: I love you, Danielle! Your posts always make me laugh.
All right, I hate to ask again, but we still need pixie dust and prayers (mostly prayers) DH does have a bad prostrate infection and with his history
Prayers are continuing for you and DH every day. My DH has had several prostate problems and the exam takes him to his knees every time. So sorry for DH and hope your arthritis Dr. can give you some relief also. Do you ever sleep???
Here is a pic-isn't she beautiful? This is last Sept.,she has grown about an inch since then.
Yes she is, Amy! My DDs are shaped VERY differently. DD17 is a rail...disappears when she turns side ways. Waist about 22". Well DD13 is a lot thicker...high hipped, short torso, long legs...not at all like her sister but constantly making the comparison. I worry about her self image. I just tell her she's beautiful (because she is) and that she is fine just the way she is. I'm glad she's doing dance team at school. It keeps her moving a couple of afternoons a week.

ARIES
....Glad you're back!!!

Summer
....

HAVE A SKINNY WEEK EVERYONE!!!

Good morning everyone. Wow I am gone for one day and come back and 8 oages have been added. This was a VERY, VERY hard weekend for me. From dinner rehearsal, to wedding, to nephew's birthday party out of town. I think I erased all good I did last week. Well today is a new day and I will get back on the train. Drinking my first 20 oz now. Question---If I drink say 100 oz of water a day--which is what I have been doing--over 8 hr time period- can I throw off my electrolytes (sp)? My DBF and DSL are always on to me about drinking TO much water. Just curious to see if anyone knows. WIll touch back later--must get ready for work.
