DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

UGGG! Unfortunately, the "dining" table is right outside my office! A group went over to Harris Teeter! Someone has fried chicken! Eight of them, sitting over there eating their tasty smelling food...and they are all skinny! Curses!!

Good morning Peeps!
Another week that I'm counting the days until Friday. I'm really hating school this semester.

Speaking of that, I'd love your opinion on something. Down here at home, I'm a baker! Big time. Mostly cookies and brownies but now since last Thanksgiving I've become the Sugar Cookie Lady. Have you seen those Cookies by Design cookies? Well I do those but mine taste a heck of a lot better and are just as cute and last a very long time. So delicious and cute are they that numerous people have told me that I should sell them and start a business. Obviously that would be a ton of work and I will admit that the business aspects of things aren't my forte, but everyone else in my family is pretty savvy in that area so I figure they would definitely help me out. I've been blessed with a little extra money (a silver lining to a VERY VERY DARK cloud) that is in a money market which I've been using to attend school so I do have some money for start up stuff. And I'm considering asking my DSIL if she would like to be partners since she is good with all of this kind of stuff and only working part time at home. Anyway, I would just love to be my own boss and bake and get paid for it. All I want is a small bakery where you can come in an get some cookies and a cup of coffee and maybe also cater to the party crowd and do favors in the theme of the party or wedding. My technique needs a little work but I know that it would improve quickly with more practice, plus it gives them the homemade appearance. But the problem is I think my mom would flip a lid if I quit school right now to pursue an entirely different career (which was also one of my New Years Resolutions - to do things for me not because of what other people want; I'm bad like that, always doing what I think others expect of me). And I'm not 100% that I want to throw away the past few years of schooling. But I also love this other idea and I really can't do both - It's just too much to do both. So, I guess I'm just looking for advice that will make the lightbulb go off and make me realize what is the best decision for me for right now. I know that I just said I am very stressed at school this semester but I have actually had this bakery/cafe idea in my head for a few months now so I don't believe that it is just me running away from school. Thanks in advance peeps!

Hope all of you are having a great and skinny day...
*Shannon

Oh, and to make it worse...DH just called and asked if I wanted to have lunch with him. I gained a pound over the weekend, and this is so not helping! Who in their right mind turns down the opportunity to dine with the love of their life? :confused3

This story reminds me of my own sister. She has said from day one that her DD would not have a weight issue like she has always had so has limited her food severely with few exceptions. So far her DD has not seemed to notice but we are worried that she will realize how strict her mother is.

My DD7 is what some may consider overweight(chunky,a little heavy, etc)and the Dr. says she is fine but to make sure she is active and eats a healthy diet.My Dd loves all food(except hot dogs) and has a HUGE appetite.I just have the job of steering her toward the right kind of foods. It doesn't help that she is two inches taller than her brother who is 9 yrs old and about 25 lbs heavier. She is teased at school and has made the comment recently that she is the fat sister and DD2 is the skinny sister.:sad1: So I feel that it is time to intervene,Sorry I am rambling...

Here is a pic-isn't she beautiful? This is last Sept.,she has grown about an inch since then.

All of your kids are gorgeous! They look just right to me.

I didn't intend for my post to sound negative or preachy - just more of a vent from what I have been noticing with my DSIL and DN and since I know a lot of you have children who also struggle with weight (and some who don't) I just wanted to share it with all of you!

Hi - she is beautiful and so is your other kids. My DD is 13 and is in JV gymnastics plus soccer. She is strong and fit but carries about 15 pounds extra around the middle. She hides it well - ask Bee - but in the mirror, in a swim suit, the truth hits her hard. She has the excersize portion down - just needs to cut back on the carbs. We really talk well together and have a snacking zone that is just for us. Pre-packaged portions of all the lite type chips etc. This helps us both understand portion control. We as a family also have cut carbs out of dinners. We have a huge salad loaded with extras and protein. It is better for us all.

Have any of you had Naturals yet? It is the juice that is in the produce section. They have all fruit - litterally 1/2 a pound of fruit per serving. They are awesome and come in a variety of types. I have an easier time grabbing them to go when it would take me 10 minutes to prep that much fruit for a snack.

GOOD MORNING......IT'S A NEW WEEK!!! :sunny:

Yes she is, Amy! My DDs are shaped VERY differently.
[/B]
I thought that you were reffering to your jublies at first! I about peed myself! I then realised you were talking about Dis Daughters...but in that snipit of a second...pictured one looking like :) and the other like

I am still laughing.

OMG.. Could I look any worse.. I must really love you all to expose myself like thiss... Man the gray is sure showing!!!

Here ya go!!
DisneyVacationPictures2005265.jpg

Grumpy even wore a shirt with his n.ame on it so you would know who it is!!!:rotfl2:

Isnt Dawn beautiful!!! How did I get hooked up with these two cuties!:rotfl:

I cannot believe you put this pic up! I look like a fat frog with a blond wig! Nothing says..."You need to lose weight" like a photo going out accross the world! Okay - that is a before one to remember...next year I will be a hottie!

Okay...hottie may be going to far...I'd settle for lukewarm lady!

To all in need of prayers and some dust...

You will be in my thought and wishes....I do have a funny story about my BOB from the hospital.

Okay...w/ all my Kidney problems
side note: (read Pre-trip report for details..just shortened w/ awesome update)

I have had many V_G_N_L ultrasounds. For those who have no clue it involves a  about 4 feet long...okay only 2 but good Gosh!

The first experience I had was w/ my DH in the room (He will officially divorce me for sharing this) ;)

The lady explains that it no different than "relations" and there will be only a little discomfort.

I am slightly out of it on several narcotics they had given me in the hospital but that was a wake-up!

I said..."Well I don't know who you have "relations with" but my husband is from Iowa, not Jamaica."

She said..."No honey...only the first 3" goes in. The rest is the camera that looks through the end.

I smiled...layed back...and said
"Oh...then it will be just like my husband from Iowa." (Demerol returned!)

I was laughing so hard that she had to wait 10 minutes for me to lie still.
DH was just shaking his head and muttering how even in this situation he gets slammed when it had nothing to do with him to start with.

Dissclaimer: DH is okay in the  department...it was just a funny and I still laugh at the visual of the look of shock on the poor Ultra sound Tec's face! She was just standing there not sure what to do with her BOB. :rotfl2:

Is there room for one more? My name is Beth and I am losing weight prior to my October trip with DH for our 5th Anniversary. My goal is 45 lbs. I started 3 weeks ago and am down 5.5 lbs so far. I am doing a reduced calorie diet (between 1400 and 1800 per day) with an emphasis on increased fiber and protein. I am a part-time grad student (I work FT at Penn State) so I get some walking in twice a week to and from my classes. I do "Walk Away the Pounds" DVDs at lunch here in my office on Tuesdays and Thursdays; DH and I do WATP at home a few times a week as well.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: DISNEYDAWN!!! That post needs a warning - No DRINKING WATER WHILE READING!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Jamaica,,, Iowa... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Good grief that brought back memories of college!! :rotfl2: See we were from sheltered backgrounds and someone got this book called "How to drive your man wild in bed" (probably for me as a wedding gift!! ) and it talked about size... and the average size, now since we were all inexperienced, we found the whole thing fascinating - that and well you know!! :rotfl2:

I also had to have that ultrasound test to discover why my appendix was fine, but I was pregnant witn no fetus - ectopic... so sad... I never even saw the... wand... if I had, I would be where you were!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Stacey tub of bings = ultrasonic wave machine. You sit in a special tub, they point some gadget at your kidney stone, and they have this loud pitch ping as it goes in and "zaps" or breaks up the kidney stone. DS was 19 or 20 when he got his, and it was rather large - the first doc didnt bother to discover that and just called him "wimpy" the 2nd doctor put a stent in and thought he might be able to pass it, until the xray came back, then sent him to the next doctor and the ultrasonic wave machine, and then back to the doctor to make sure the pieces were broken up small enough to pass, and to find the composition of the stones... prognosis, drink more lemonade, less soda! (He was consuming 6 sodas min a day, it was a bad time in his life, very depressed, all he did was run and eat... chips and sodas, run 5 miles, chips and sodas, run 5 miles... he is my ahtlete 'jock'...

Fidge, do you have a journal? Just a plain notebook will do, throw some stickers on it, make it festive... and JOURNAL those feelings, and if you must eat, grab a carrot, cut an apple, fill a glass of water. STOP destroying YOU! YOU are WORTHY of His love... Give it to Him... Have you ever seen the poster - I am a Child of God - and God doesnt make JUNK -

and believe you me, it is easier said than done, but somehow we have to make the choice to do something different, instead of always turning to food as our friend, we need to change that habit. Get on the computer, go to Oprah.com and read on her journal techniques... know you are worthy!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I forgot to mention, when I told dh is German pancakes were only 405 calories, he said "you were never good at math were you dear?" (OK he didnt say that, but I know he was thinking it...) So I got the paper he used for the recipe to show him look see 405 calories... he said, it had 4 eggs, 1/2 stick of butter, check again...

"oh, per serving" well, I only had 2 servings!!! :rotfl2:

That man does love me tho!! Did I mention he was my math algebra 2 tutor? (in high school!! :rotfl2: He decided right then and there never to be a teacher!! :rotfl2: )

FIdge and other Peeps ALL ABOARD!!!

Today is a new day. No guilt. It can be good, or bad, the CHOICE is up to you - make the CHOICE to be HEALTHY!!

WELCOME!

Going to go eat my Lean Cuisine!! Man, I went to use the dancing banana, but now that he has a whole new identity... I will settle for this. :cheer2: Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about my lunch break. :rolleyes2

These can be made ahead of time, and frozen, just make sure they are completely and totally cooled before placing in ziplock bag to freeze. Think 1 dozen egg whites + 1 dozen muffins, + oatmeal + fruit = 1 big filling breakfast!!

1 1/2 cups oats whole
1 1/2 cup oats ground with food processor (to make oat flour!)
2 tsp baking powder
12 egg whites
4 tsp of splenda
3 Cups of Rasberries (I buy a bag of frozen berries, and cut down the strawberries to smaller size)

Measure the oats and combine oats, baking powder, egg whites and splenda mix well, can use mixer, or do by hand - then gentle fold in the berries. Spoon into muffin tins.

Bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes.

They will not raise very much, fill the muffins to the top not half way. and then you can microwave them before eating!! Lovely on the go way to eat your oatmeal!! I imagine you could throw in some of that flaxseed meal also!!

Adding Splenda and raisins to Colon Blow makes it Mmm Mmm Good.

I hear ya on the bridesmaids dresses, Shula! Are they strapless? Are they form fitting satin???? Or velvet? THAT would be funny! Ok, not funny, but awkward!

I love when there's different dresses made with the same fabric so each Bridesmaid gets a flattering style.

Luckily, in Utah, alot of us are very modest. Usually there's capped sleeves at least for proms and other formals.

I LIVE in those extra long lycra t-shirts under normal fashions. It works great when a regular shirt is too short. "Coverwear" is my favorite.

Am I rambling again? And totally off topic? sorry ;)

I forgot to say: Bee!!! You are so cute! You both look so young! Darn you! Grumpy!!!! You are a hoot!

UM if those bridesmaids dresses were VELVET..i think i would stop being her friend..no offense to supporters of velvet bridesmaid dresses out there, but come on now :rotfl:
They are actually very pretty raw silk strapless dresses with a little something something in the bodice to give me the illusion of having :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc ! Yup guess someone decided it would be funny to disperse fat everywhere else on my body but there!

OMG! :rotfl: I am soooo glad that I waited til the "dining" table was empty before I read this! There is no way in heck that I could explain that I-9's are that funny! But now I do have some splainin to do because of a wet keyboard.

I've had that type of ultrasound too.

 I know exactly what you mean! No matter what size I have been - big, small-big, big-big, medium-big, my :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc never changed sizes and I've been stuck at practically junior high level since, well, junior high. Mine are more like :hyper: :hyper: I usually don't mind because then I'd probably have to go up another size in tops just to fit them in.

Misty...how's Mayson? Hope you are getting more rest these days.
Mayson is still being a turkey but i am just waiting for his test results for Celiac Disease...if he has that there is a huge change in our home
Same old DH! That's FUNNY!

I really should plan better meals today other than fiber-disguised-as-chocolate-mentos-bomb muffins.

I'm in a diet rut. I'll have to lokk in my stack of WW and SB cookbooks to get some NEW ideas. I've pretty much been eating the same old stuff.

I want to lose 1.5 pounds this week!!!!!!
Somehow, just sitting here isn't going to do it.
it might if you constantly do something while sitting on your pilates ball.. crunch those abs crunch those abs
OMG.. Could I look any worse.. I must really love you all to expose myself like thiss... Man the gray is sure showing!!!

i did not see any grey anywhere you are all a bunch of cuties:cutie:

Good morning to all and much love to ya all you skinnie minnie's
today's disney movie for DD is Lilo & Stitch
we watch at least 2 disney movies a day...

I had a very interesting dream last night about Johnny & the sprites i think he is a cutie but come to find out lil mayson was awake when DH left for work and turned on the tv for him i was semi coherent and that was the show that was on or at least a commercial .. it was weird.. but funny

Have you tried Crystal Lite? I LOVE the Walmart brand that's Cherry flavored!!! It saved me! I guess tea works too. I think if it's sugar free and it's added to water, it should count! Green Tea is suposed to be pretty good for ya.

My favs are WM brand Cherry limeade, and grape, and cranberry apple...I struggle with getting enuff water in too...this helps me alot...I'll take 2 of the individuals ("on the go") and put them in a 1 liter water bottle...drink away! drinking from a water bottle helps me gauge how much I actually drink, instead of guestimating

I love the WW version of cherry limeaid. I also like the mmorning orange one--like tang. Raspberry tea is also good.

Nsalz - sending up prayers! Does anyone know what caused the Bell's Palsy? My daughter had this when she was 7 months old - bad ear infection. It was scary and resulted in an unpleasant hospital stay.

I had this after DD was born. We were sent home on Sunday and on Monday I called DH at work and said something is wrong I can't smile. So we went to the ER and by this time it effected my entire right side of my face. It was not a fun 6 weeks for me.

Did you see the news story about the woman who drank all that water and did not go to the bathroom? She was trying to win a contest at a radio station - Hold you wee to win a Wii(sp.) - you know that video game. She was trying win one for her kids. She died. Radio station is in big trouble because drs called in and told them it was dangerous and people could die. They just laughed and said, "I quess we won't have to give them a game then." Anyway, go to the bathroom! I don't know about electrolytes. By the way Heather, if you ever meet my DH, don't mention the fact that I put his embarassing prostate infection on the web! :rotfl:

MUM is the word. I do go to the RR between classes.

Okay...w/ all my Kidney problems

:rotfl2: :lmao: Thank you. I just came back from the cafeteria and being an observant person that I am. I noticed this kid at the table coughing like they were choking--I put my hand on her back and asked if she was ok and at the exact same moment--she lost her lunch. Lets just say I threw away the bottle of water I had in my hand. I really do think that she choked on something--but not the way I wanted to end lunch. So thanks again for the funny moment.

Pigget - thanks for keeping my secret! Wouldn't want you to meet DH and point and laugh, might make him uncomfortable!:rotfl2: Hey, I just invited you and me over to Melissa's house over on my dining review. I can't mention what we will be doing while there :rolleyes1 . You'll have to go look at the post! ;)

I see you are going back to WDW in March? Are you going during spring break? As a teacher, do you just go during school breaks or do you take days? How old are all your older kids? Never mind, I just looked at your signature. Is your son in 7th grade then?

HErs to a better today, yesterday is gone and there is not one thing I can do change that but have a better today, and that is entirely up to me!!!

I will have to go over there and look. We typically go during breaks. We have gone the first part of December and another time just after Thanksgiving. The most time I could miss is 2 days--unless I also called in sick--I can't do that. If i have enough notice I will not use my personal days one year and keep them for the next to make 4 days.

Andrew is in the 6th grade, Katie third. My friends joke with us because all my kids are born in September. When we announced we were going to have Joshua my DH mom looked at me and said "WOW you guys sure do have a very ritualisitc (sp?) December". I said, why yes we do enjoy the holidays. My friends always come up to DH in December and say--I know what you are getting. It does get old, but it is still funny. We have not decided if we are done--we were done at 2 and then little man came along. I would just have to make sure that it is in September as well--can't have anyone think they aren't special lol.
