Uh Oh! Hair disaster! At least it's not green! Good luck with that, poor thing!!!
Maybe dish soap? Or go darker? Darn those greys!!!!!

Sorry we're a little "comfortable" these days with our pooh talk. Dieting constipates alot of folks so we're just trying to keep things moving along ;)
Potty humor helps our awkward situation. Sorry!!!!

Have you tried Crystal Lite? I LOVE the Walmart brand that's Cherry flavored!!! It saved me! I guess tea works too. I think if it's sugar free and it's added to water, it should count! Green Tea is suposed to be pretty good for ya.
I will look for the crystal lite.
Re bad hairdo Dish soap?

NSalz is ok. Did she post here that she got Bells Palsy on Wednesday? SHe looks good, but is tired and her face is numb! Her family has just had the worst time, health wise since Thanksgiving time! Please remember them in your prayers. They are truly one of the best families ever!

Prayers and Pixie dust being sent! :grouphug: :grouphug:

My kids Meals at school are about 700 calories! YIKES!!!! They bring home a menu with the nutrition info. on them. Which makes me want to serve oatmeal or cereal in the morning to even it out.

Childhood obesity is SCARY these days and is only getting worse! Coke and snack machines and Nintendo instead of riding bikes!!!! Did Y'all see "Super Size Me" the Mc Donalds Documentary??? Very Very Interesting. Part of it had a school lunch segment. Junky food= bad behavior!!!! Healthy foods= great behavior! :confused3 My 8 year old has my genes which really worries me.

Isnt there another book something Nation? They say if you read this book you will never eat fast food again!! They made a movie of it too!! DD 10 is an extreme picky eater, as was I, so I focus on the fruits and veggies. Our school district lunches I believe are under 300 cal, and have eliminated transfat - no more desserts!! Lots of fresh or packaged (canned put into pkgs!!) fruits, raw veggies. They poll/survey the kids and parents every year, make changes, etc. Now the kids have 4 choices every day, standard Hot, Standard "Sack" Yogurt and Salad... (takes a long time to take lunch count for a sub mind you!!) The Yogurt and Salad options come with lots of other stuff, fruit, and crackers, or rolls... and they are packaged cute too!! I was surprised so many kids opt for SKIM milk!! So I agree that there is a need to be cautious in how we as mothers talk, and act around our dd, there is lots of evidence to support this...

I was surprised yesterday when dd asked me what a calorie was.... it did open the door for a great discussion!! She then had dessert 4 oreo cookies and 1/4 cup melted chocolate chips!! :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone. Wow I am gone for one day and come back and 8 oages have been added. This was a VERY, VERY hard weekend for me. From dinner rehearsal, to wedding, to nephew's birthday party out of town. I think I erased all good I did last week. Well today is a new day and I will get back on the train. Drinking my first 20 oz now. Question---If I drink say 100 oz of water a day--which is what I have been doing--over 8 hr time period- can I throw off my electrolytes (sp)? My DBF and DSL are always on to me about drinking TO much water. Just curious to see if anyone knows. WIll touch back later--must get ready for work.

100 ounces of water over the course of a day is ok, you'll only throw it off if you dont go potty and you dont eat food!! I posted a link to why you should drink that much water, I'll have to find it...

Stacey :grouphug: You know that story is sad!! My DS last year had the kidney stone problem, went to 3 hospitals, 4 doctors, had a stint, surgery, ended up getting the tub of bings that shattered it... lots of paperwork and bills... When he was in high school he had the... :crowded: problem, I think that was 9th grade, I thought DH should take him to the doctor, and x-ray... (I'm pretty sure he showed the problem to dh!) but, no DS wanted Mom to be there to hold his hand... poor kid... same thing, one huge, painful, and it was an infection there!!!

:grouphug: prayers and pixie dust Stacey!!

 Peeps, Jo how was that Sunday roast???

Just looked up the calories for yesterdays German Pancake - 405!! (I thought twice that!!) and I only ate 1/2!! Lunch was popcorn 150 calories, Dinner was 2 Wasa crackers and cheese slices... and I had a :pooh: muffin!!

I drank all my water... :thumbsup2 and had a pot of loose leaf tea!! Cinnamon Tea!!

What website are you using to look up calories?

Breakfast this morning is tea and toast... peanut butter 1T on the toast! 190 + 150 = 340 calories!! YIKES, I'd rather have the German Pancake!! (of course it took dh 2 hours to make it, and not a lot of protein!!)

Isnt there another book something Nation? They say if you read this book you will never eat fast food again!!
Fast Food Nation....it was required reading for DD's Jr. English class. :) A real eye opener for the kids I'm sure. Have a good day my freaky borg sistah! ;)

Good Morning all and Happy Monday!!! This was a very bad weekend and rather not go into details. I reacted as I do so well and ate my way thorugh some uncomfortable moments this weekend. I did NOT exercise and did NOT eat well. I have gone up 3 lbs, I do not subscirbe to the theroy that wight can't be gained over night. Horse pucky I knwo I can do some serious damage in one weekend. Actually it began Saturday early evening.

SO what do I do? Get off my duff and change it. The only one I am hurting by these actions are me. Resentment is the posion I wish to give others that I infact eat with!!! Ok enough of that dribble!

Yes I was very angry this weekend and it was uncomfortable. I did what I have learned to do and thats eat. Emotional eatting is biggest adversity and need to do something with thsi besides whine!

Utah forget the 4 hrs before bedtime I ate the entire darn night, every hour I got up and ate some stupid thing!!! I asked myself why the answer was everytime you know why, because I am powerless over other peoples actions and words that cut like a knife!

OK thats enough of that and now off to ride my bike! Have a lovely morning all!

HErs to a better today, yesterday is gone and there is not one thing I can do change that but have a better today, and that is entirely up to me!!!

Sorry you had such a rough weekend Fidge! I am an emotional eater too, and I know how those weekends can be. Hope your day is 1,000 times better than you weekend was!

OK, I take the weekend off and when I left I was on page 347! :scared1: I've got 10 pages to catch up on. Now y'all just slow it down a little. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Wasn't very good this weekend. :sad2: It is a new day, and I am going to do better.:thumbsup2

Oh NO Fidge!!! It's never to late. Just move on. Here, we'll pull you back up onto the wagon! Anyone of us would have done the exact same thing, so just move on. Funny how we binge when we're hurting! The food that's easiest is my binge...not carrot sticks!

:grouphug: Thanks for sharing, Fidge!!! We love you!!!!!

Stacey,

It took me a second, but I got it! :rotfl: Yep, no new Desperate Housewives, and the same old DH! :sad2:

Woo Hoo! Monday morning! Back at work so I can have some quality uninterrupted DIS time! :cool1: :surfweb:

Same old DH! That's FUNNY!

I really should plan better meals today other than fiber-disguised-as-chocolate-mentos-bomb muffins.

I'm in a diet rut. I'll have to lokk in my stack of WW and SB cookbooks to get some NEW ideas. I've pretty much been eating the same old stuff.

I want to lose 1.5 pounds this week!!!!!!
Somehow, just sitting here isn't going to do it.

DisneyVacationPictures2005265.jpg

Grumpy even wore a shirt with his name on it so you would know who it is!!!:rotfl2:

Isnt Dawn beautiful!!! How did I get hooked up with these two cuties!:rotfl:

:welcome: Jen!! I'm a born and raised Ohioan (right outside of Cleveland too) and my DH is from suburban Chicago, so we're always contemplating where we're going to live eventually . . . I totally understand about weight catching up with you!! I was a gymnast and cheerleader from age 3 into my 20's and all of the sudden in college my excessive eating started to show . . . It's been a struggle since then, but I think this group is really getting me on the right track!!

Made a really yummy dinner last night . . . I marinated center cut pork chops overnight in lemon juice, 2 tbs. olive oil, oregano and salt and pepper and threw them on the grill . . . Tasted as good as steak!!

My DH's uncle has lost 32 lbs. on Nutrasystems and is in their commercial, so now my in-laws are going to try it and he keeps telling me I should try it if I want . . . :rotfl2: but I just can't stop laughing at his uncle and Dan Marino in the commercial!! Football players and coaches should not act (please see Ace Ventura for an example of this :happytv: )!!

GOOD MORNING PEEPDOM!
what a weekend!...i had the LOVELY duty to try on bridesmaid dresses with 3 very skinny minnies..let me just say that my dress will be the only one ordered in a double digit...and not a cute double digit like 10 ...:sad2: i was quite horrified...but not suprised...still its a nice little wakeup call that i am doing the right thing trying to get myself in better shape..thats why i am here right! ? :)
My eating was mezza-mezza at best this weekend..and i def. could have exercised more..but its a new day, a new week and a new weigh in on Friday...so here is to a healthy week for everyone! :goodvibes
( and i totally had a bowl o' clon blow this morning..gotta start it right!)

Love the pic, Bee! I don't see any gray?!

Nsalz - sending up prayers! Does anyone know what caused the Bell's Palsy? My daughter had this when she was 7 months old - bad ear infection. It was scary and resulted in an unpleasant hospital stay.

GOOD MORNING......IT'S A NEW WEEK!!! :sunny:

My kids get a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, nutragrain bar, a string cheese, go-gurt, piece of fruit or carrots/dip, and a water bottle or juice box.

Okay, I am going to show my daughter this so she will quit complaining about what I pack!

Prayers are continuing for you and DH every day. My DH has had several prostate problems and the exam takes him to his knees every time. So sorry for DH and hope your arthritis Dr. can give you some relief also. Do you ever sleep???

:sad2: No sleeping lately. Last night DH went to sleep on the couch at about 10:00 and I headed to bed at about 2:30. The last thing I thought was, "Brian has been asleep for 4 hours, I bet when I fall asleep he will wake up and need me (because that is the way he is when he is sick - I don't think I have ever woken him up, I prefer to be sick alone)." Sure enough, 3 am he starts calling for me. He was in the bathroom and thought he was going to pass out. I figured out this morning that he had OD'd on Milk of Magnesia. :sad2: He has an appointment tomorrow, he is already dreading The Exam!Has your DH had anymore problems?

Did you see the news story about the woman who drank all that water and did not go to the bathroom? She was trying to win a contest at a radio station - Hold you wee to win a Wii(sp.) - you know that video game. She was trying win one for her kids. She died. Radio station is in big trouble because drs called in and told them it was dangerous and people could die. They just laughed and said, "I quess we won't have to give them a game then." Anyway, go to the bathroom! I don't know about electrolytes. By the way Heather, if you ever meet my DH, don't mention the fact that I put his embarassing prostate infection on the web! :rotfl:

Prayers and Pixie dust being sent!

Thanks! Wow, how old was your DS when he had the kidney stones? What do you mean "tub of bings"? Your poor DS.

Stacey,

It took me a second, but I got it! :rotfl: Yep, no new Desperate Housewives, and the same old DH! :sad2:

OOhhh, that does make more sense. I have been on the Dis too long!

Same old DH! That's FUNNY!

Somehow, just sitting here isn't going to do it.

Yesterday, for lunch I went by Firehouse subs and got the veggie sub. Those are great. Would be easy to make at home. And very filling! I have also been enjoying the Kashi cookies. I have been trying to take recipes I already use and skinny them up. Like I cooked ground chuch patties the other day. The patties were only about 4-5 oz. each (my DD was like, those are small!). But then I added cooked squash (this was great, I just cut up fresh squash and added seasoning and some lite italian dressing and baked it), veggies with dip, and sliced apples with low fat caramel sauce. My DD was surprised at how full she was even if the meat was the smallest part of the meal.

You are beautiful!! and so is your family... WELCOME!!!

OMG- Between you and Grumpy- I am funny... NOT.. :rotfl2:
Dawn, it feels like we have known each other forever. So glad you are now a part of my life. Your kids are beautiful and AWESOME!! (just like their mom)!!
Next time maybe we can meet DH.. Is he real?? :rotfl2:

Glad you are back!!

Hi Bee - I will call you this afternoon - yes...my DH is real...his name is Chad not BOB! :rotfl2:

Adding Splenda and raisins to Colon Blow makes it Mmm Mmm Good.

I hear ya on the bridesmaids dresses, Shula! Are they strapless? Are they form fitting satin???? Or velvet? THAT would be funny! Ok, not funny, but awkward!

I love when there's different dresses made with the same fabric so each Bridesmaid gets a flattering style.

Luckily, in Utah, alot of us are very modest. Usually there's capped sleeves at least for proms and other formals.

I LIVE in those extra long lycra t-shirts under normal fashions. It works great when a regular shirt is too short. "Coverwear" is my favorite.

Am I rambling again? And totally off topic? sorry ;)

I forgot to say: Bee!!! You are so cute! You both look so young! Darn you! Grumpy!!!! You are a hoot!

OMG you guys write alot whilst I'm asleep, it's taken me ages to catch up!

WDW2006014.jpg

Here is a pic-isn't she beautiful? This is last Sept.,she has grown about an inch since then.

Just to say your DD looks just right, I also have a skinny eldest DD and a cuddly little DD. But Jessica (eldest) eats loads more than Ellie and doesn't exercise as much (Ellie is always on the go, jumping on the trampoline, loads of after school activities etc) and is still the skinny one! I do watch Ellies weight a little as I come from a large family my Mum is about a US size 26, but if Jess is allowed a cookie Ellie is too.

Our school district lunches I believe are under 300 cal, and have eliminated transfat - no more desserts!! Lots of fresh or packaged (canned put into pkgs!!) fruits, raw veggies. Peeps, Jo how was that Sunday roast???

UK schools have just put a ban on any sweets, chocolates, cakes and crisps (chips) in packed lunches except on Fridays. It was tough to start with but the DD's do now eat much healthier in school so that's good.

Yes the Sunday roast was lovely, my DH even insists on a roast in the summer because he likes roast potatoes so much.

We go to emergency room, of course I am adding up the $$$$$ and getting nervous.

I am sweating bullets filling out more papers $$$$.
Am I glad we have the NHS :rotfl2: Hope all is well with the latest scan.

GOOD MORNING PEEPDOM!
what a weekend!...i had the LOVELY duty to try on bridesmaid dresses with 3 very skinny minnies..let me just say that my dress will be the only one ordered in a double digit...and not a cute double digit like 10 ...:sad2:

My Sis got married last year and I was her Matron of Honour (doesn't that make me sound old :rotfl: ) and the dress I had was great as it had an internal corset, it was surprisingly comfy and oh did it suck you in. :thumbsup2

DH has Monday's off and we managed a nice 9 holes of golf followed by an hour shopping (for laptop unsuccessfully - so confusing!) and then before picking up DD's we did another 40 mins walking. So I'm getting the exercise in and whilst you're exercising you can't eat, bonus. :thumbsup2
