Snow - I am so jealous. I grew up in Upper Michigan. I have been in South Mississippi for 17 years and I am still not adjusted to the ridiculous heat. I miss snow. Not that much snow, but some snow would be nice.
Stacey, I am in mid-Michigan (near Lansing) and we have had a pretty mild winter, although it has been fairly chilly and snowy this past week. Nothing like I remember from when I was young, though, when it seems like we always had enough snow for sledding and outdoor ice skating rinks.

I am ready for spring and it is not even my toughest winter month, February.
 
Ya'll are talking snow and I havent seen snow in prolly 5 yrs...I don't mind a little, but I'm tired of this wet cokd rain we have and will continue to have tomorrow...I'm ready for some sand tween my toes, a warm tropical breeze, and some salt water blowng on my face...
 

Hi everyone!!I just skimmed the last few pgs because I haven't been on all day.

Well I went to a party to watch football and I think I ate for all of the five hours we were there.:sad2: I feel sooo sick and angry with myself.I will be trying a version of the colon blow and hope I have better success than Harley.

Stacey,my list looks alot like yours except I have added one.No frozen entrees this week.I have been swolen and retaining water and the trainer said it was probably the sodium in the Lean cuisines I have been eating.

I am prepared for the week and hope to have a cheat free week.

Also I made a lasagna that had about three hundred calories per serving for 12 servings and we got more servings than that.If anyone is interested let me know.The only thing is that I couldn't find wheat lasagna noodles,anyone ever see any??
 
dis - Publix has your wheat noodles...

I am struggling to not eat, but I did just get off the TM and had a nice ball workout, now i am really hungry

I looked at publix and did not find wheat lasagna noodles...found all other types in wheat.

Way to go on the exercise!!!

OK, I'm back on page 295, but I don't think I will be catching up tonight, so I am posting now, and I will catch up tomorrow. I have spent my day watching the Bears game (WOO HOOTY!!!) and working on that photo storage site again, but the good news is...it is almost done! :) I don't have tons more to upload, and I just need to go through what is on there and weed out any really bad pics I missed. And thanks! :) I am all about easy on my food, but there are healthy foods that I really like, so I figure I can make myself something simple that I really enjoy, and I won't be as tempted to cheat. I have been feeling great about my food choices and just restocked my fridge yesterday. I have a few new things in there too, so you might hear me mention some different things this week.

could it be that the Colon Blow might have the opposite effect on some peoples?

That my dear UM is for 4 large pieces of a cheese DeLite pizza! I ate half the pizza! Talk about being full and still staying within my calories. I plan to start having only 3 pieces or having Josh give me a smaller half from now on. He actually did that last time, but I just counted the calories as 700 to be sure I didn't guess low.

Oh, and today was my cheat day, so no totals for today. :) Night all! Peep out!

I'd also like to know whereabouts in IN? I went to college in South Bend. I'm a little paranoid about giving out the name since it was a small, women's college (wink wink). I'm the speech path girl! Not working yet but I do have clients through my school that I'm treating. And I played the trombone for 11 years but I truly don't know how I survived my last 5 years playing since I never ever practiced.

Is it ok that I laughed a little at the "double cousins"? But seriously, sorry for your loss and sorry that you are having a stressful time. During times like this when I'm trying to be so good with my eating, I just try to make the best choice even if it is something that I wouldn't be eating every day. Like instead of 2 slices of pizza with everything, have one slice of plain pizza, blot off some grease, and eat a salad. And no matter what you are eating, drink water, water and water. And when you think you can't drink anymore, have another glass.

Ok, can someone please explain to me how you are quoting little snippits from others posts instead of the whole thing like I am doing. I tried hitting that mulit-quote button but its not working so well.

Hi Shannon!! I was in Valparaiso/Portage... my parents have a cottage on a lake in Angola IN, so I'm headed that way this summer!!
Someone else covered the Quote, then just go in and delete the parts you dont want... or not!! :) Its ok to lol at our dbl cousins, its not an everyday thing, its easier to draw the lineage than to try and 'spain it!!

I find cole slaw to be effective, and UM mentions broccoli - I saw on a commercial that BEAN-O helps with the broccoli... gas.. and Ditto the lots and lots of water - I tried a fiber supplement, and thought drinking 20ounces with it was enough... nope...

Do you use different amounts of splenda than sugar or is a teaspoon equal to a teaspoon sugar?

It depends on the container - if you just have those tiny packets, than do not measure them tsp for cup - but if you buy a box of the fluffy Splenda, then it is a tsp to a tsp cup to cup...

DA BEARS are going to MIAMA along with the Balt... um Indy Colts!! It snowed, woke up at the hotel, and said, looks like George Halas plans on bein at the Football game today, it was a good sign that snow!! N'oleans gave me a fright that first quarter holdin us to 3 field goalS!! Traffic was horrible, but we managed to make it to Univ of IL to have lunch with my boys - I'm so proud of my kids. Esp after last night with my mother's rage... *sigh... DD still cant manage to sleep for more than 4 hours at home - I'm going to work this week as an aide, I hate subbing for the aides, they work too hard, and get NO respect, but I need the money... *sigh..
 
hokay - now that you all know my deepest humiliation...

I got really ticked at the store - first store was sold out of Cream of Potato, store 2 didnt hav eit either...store 3 had it but not healthy request...snap! there I went huffing and puffing ready to push the nearest clerk infront of the bus( I ws hungry which led to my fit)

came home and made my notsoskinnyafterall chicken pot pie, and am now taking it and two extremely tired grumpy boys to visit DH at Firestation and carry the other dudes supper...alas Grumpy they do not all look like you...but I will carry your pic in my minds eye kay? kay...:hippie:

Ibougth me a yoga CD its one of those relaxation CD's from those kiosks they have in the stores, you know the one where you punch a button and it plays a snippet of a song...I got 2 one is LifeScapes Calmng Sea, the other is Lifescapes music for Stress Relief ( beachy theme here too) and I listened to them on the way home...and they worked! now if I dont fall asleep when I try to meditate and center my breathing I'll be surprised!:cutie:

Ilooked but I have already thrown out the recipe, its the one on the back of the Toll House choc chip bag...heres what I remember

2 sticks of butter
2 1/4 c all purpose
1/2 tsp baking powder (?)
1/2 tsp salt (?)
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 c sugar (Splenda)
1/4 c brown sugar (Brown Splenda)
bag choc chips

i think this is pretty close!
Pretty accurate but isnt the sugar 3/4 brown and 3/4 white

Michelle, I have decided I like your rules much better than the ones I just typed up for my family. The "rules" go into effect tomorrow at our house.

Rules:

No eating after 7:30

One small sweet per day. Example: 10 jelly bellys, cup of frozen yogurt

No white bread, biscuits or rolls. Wheat only.

Limit all starches.

No sodas (except for one diet coke per day - sorry, I can't give it up)

No potato chips.

Acceptable snacks include: piece of cheese with wheat cracker, fruit, vegetables with dip, popcorn, a bowl of cereal.

8 glasses of water a day. We will drink most of these together.

Must exercise 4 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes (to start). Walking, treadmill, DDR on the work out setting.

We are all taking juice plus and multi-vitamins.

On Sundays, we get one free meal. (Like with a roll and real dessert)

No seconds! The first bite is as good as the last.

Getting flax seed this week.

So how does that sound! I want this to be doable. I am stressing a lifestyle change, not a diet.

I have a question. How long does the flax seed meal stay good in the fridge after you open it? I know it says on the package to put it in the fridge or the freezer. Which is better? Does it last longer in the freezer? Just don't want that goin' bad without knowin' it. :sad2:

Also, did that colon blow on Thursday night, and it took til Friday to give good results. ;) I know how you felt harley. ;) Well, DH and I ate out at the Japanese Steakhouse Sat. night. Well, I think that stuff was still in my system because I had very painful gas! :sick: I had my DD naturally, and I don't think I hurt that bad when I was in full blown labor!:rotfl: :rotfl2: I was hurting really bad, and when I got home.....boy was there a blow! :rotfl: Sorry to be gross, but is that normal? I know I ate something that wasn't that healthy, so maybe that was it. :sad2:

I don't know if it was the japanese but the same thing happened to me on Friday.I had not had any colon blow but ate two pieces of cookie cake first thing on an empty stomach and was in ALOT of pain and ended up in the bathroom.Maybe our bodies are getting used to healthy foods and having a hard time with fat???I have had a hard time with food since last summer when I had to have my gall bladder out so I didn't know if it was that.

WAY TO GO on the not eating before bed-this is one rule that is very hard for me.
