It just got to me. She has a child that is about to have its first birthday, and now there is no mother anymore. She was just trying to do it for her kids.

Yeah and what is worse is someone called the radio station to say that someone could die this way and the radio DJs said "yeah we know they can die but we had them sign waivers so it is ok" THAT IS NEGLIGENCE and you can't waive negligence to the best of my knowledge. This is JUST WRONG !!!!!:sad2:   :sad1:

I hope some people are held criminally responsible for taking a mother away from her children.....for what a video game system! I'm sorry to get on a soap box here, but there is something very wrong about it!

I agree totally this went too far and they knew it was dangerous. Yet had no medical supervision and allowed for it to continue when people complained of their heads hurting(their brains were swelling from all of the water). I cannot believe humans act this way toward other people.....I AM AMAZED....I hope there is enough room on your soap box for us (Bee and I ) too because this was totally not necessary. I am not normally in favor of law suits but this company needs to be taken to the cleaners over this one....:laundy:

What I ate today-
1/2 c. oatmeal 2 pt.
1 tb. dried cranberries 1 pt.
1/2 c. 1% milk 1 pt.
1 serving ff sf cocoa in decaf 1 pt.

2 oz. ff turkey breast w/spinach on lite bread 2 pt.
carrots 0 pt.
ff sf caramel apple yogurt 2 pt.
orange 1 pt.
South Beach chocolate bar 3 pt.

Then the stress eating hit. 6 pts. worth of goldfish crackers, then a pack of mini nutter butters 3 pts.

Pulled it back together for dinner-
2 fat free white meat turkey hot dogs 2 pt. (yes just 1 pt. a piece)
2 sl. lite bread 1 pt.
salad w/ romaine and spinach and 1 TB. Bleu cheese vinaigrette 1 pt.
WW carrot cake 1 pt.

Total-27 pts

My downfall is the stress eating. 1/3 of the calories I had today I ate over a period of about 15 minutes.

Here's hoping tomorrow is better. to all the peeps.

I personally think you did great.I have just come off of a two day stress eat,I am proud of you for stopping it so soon.:cool1:

Come on up the box is just fine! ;) You would think that their "legal dept." would have had somebody to oversee this. I know she probably never thought that she could die from her activity. She was probably very proud of herself for drinking the two gallons of water, and hoping to bring home the Wii to her kids. Such a shame.

This amused me, so I thought I'd share it. 2007 diet horoscopes (not that I really believe in this stuff, but part of mine was spot on - Cancer).

Aries:
(March 21 - April 19)
Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of physical movement, and so exercise will always be your preferred method of staying in shape. If you let your fitness program slide during the holidays, it's a matter of getting back into your regular workout schedule. That may be easier said than done, because things are getting very hectic at work. However, do make the time. You'll be much more effective on the job if you do.

Taurus:
(April 20 - May 20)
There's a strong possibility that you're on vacation in January, which could be good or bad news for your diet – good, if you're trekking in Nepal; bad, if you're lying around on a cruise ship sipping margaritas. If it's the latter, check out the shipboard activities and get moving. No matter where you are, exercise is your fastest route to shedding unwanted pounds. If nothing else, get out of your car and walk.

Gemini:
(May 21 - June 21)
With Jupiter in your health sector last year, you may have gone into the holidays a little heavy to start with. Now that the Big Guy has moved on, you can lose the love handles. As it turns out, the best way may be your favorite indoor sport (no, not Internet surfing), as Mars is in your sector of passion and intimacy for six weeks starting January 16. Then, you could always go jogging.

Cancer:
(June 22 - July 22)
Poor Moon Baby, are the seams of your jeans leaving imprints on your thighs? Of all the signs, you are the most likely to hold water. With Jupiter in your health sector, this will be an ongoing battle in 2007, so you'll need to avoid salty foods. And while it doesn't seem logical, drinking lots of water will help. If you get discouraged because you can't lose as quickly as you'd like, resist the temptation to just give up and dive into a bag of chips.

Leo:
(July 23 - August 22)
You were totally unrestrained over the holidays, and it sure felt good! It's been way too long since you've felt the warmth and good cheer that are as necessary to you as food and water. But yes, it had consequences for your figure, and now it's time for a little discipline. Fortunately, you'll have no trouble finding it. Just be sure to keep moving and don't let inertia get the better of you, or the pounds will come creeping back on.

Virgo:
(August 23 - September 22)
With Neptune in your health zone, you may be tempted to try the latest fad diet, even if you didn't gain weight over the holidays. The last thing you need is another diet! Of all the signs, you are the most obsessed with what you put in your body, sometimes to the irritation of everyone around you. Your best bet is to eat a sensible, varied diet and to exercise in moderation.

Libra:
(September 23 - October 22)
With all the running around you did during the holidays, you might have lost weight, but you weren't eating right, either. Libra's keyword is "balance," and that's what you need to get back. A balanced diet and regular eating habits will help. Since Libra is notoriously lazy when it comes to cooking, enlist the help of your sweetie or stock up on low-fat frozen entrees. Be sure to set aside time to relax and enjoy your meal.

Scorpio:
(October 23 - November 21)
You overindulged big-time this holiday season, but it had less to do with eating than with shopping and lavishing gourmet goodies on your loved ones. That may include a new sweetie. If so, you're lovesick and off your food. Whatever your circumstances, your challenge is to maintain some semblance of stability and to eat properly. Yoga, stretching, and gentle exercises such as walking are better for you now than power workouts at the gym.

Sagittarius:
(November 22 - December 21)
There's good news and bad news for you, Sag. The good news is that, with Jupiter in your sign for most of 2007, you will succeed in everything you do . . . well, almost everything. The bad news is that success will go straight to your hips. Unless you're prepared to eat like a Tibetan monk (and you're not), just accept the few extra pounds and resolve to lose it all next year.

Capricorn:
(December 22 - January 19)
Of all the signs, you will have the easiest time trimming down after the holidays. With Mars entering Capricorn on January 16, exercise will be your best bet, and you'll actually want to do it! Hiking, biking, swimming, or working out on the stair climber will all be enjoyable. You've also got the benefit of the New Moon in your sign on January 18 to make a fresh start. We should all be so lucky.

Aquarius:
(January 20 - February 18)
You were the consummate party animal this season, and now you're feeling it! Fortunately, planetary influences in January support you in a good detox regimen to undo all that damage. Consult your alternative healthcare practitioner (probably the only kind you have) for the cleansing diet that is best for your body and blood type. Be sure to schedule some down time when you start, as you may feel tired and achy for a couple of days.

Pisces:
(February 19 - March 20)
Over the holidays, you may have given new meaning to "drinks like a fish." With Jupiter at the top of your chart and a concentration of planets in your career zone, you had plenty of occasions to network over drinks – and enough stress to make you want to drink heavily! Well, now it's time to stop. It's not doing your mental health any good, and it's extremely fattening. Cut out the alcohol for a few weeks, and watch the extra pounds melt away.

They were oatmeal choc chip... he told me that they counted as fiber.. since we have some special things on this board.. I cant remember what UMA was passing off as a vegetable/ fruit..

It just got to me. She has a child that is about to have its first birthday, and now there is no mother anymore. She was just trying to do it for her kids.

Tragic. I heard about this happening to a frat boy too. Why do people have to push others to the limit? :sad2:

No, not those kind. The non-caloric kind.

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!!! :sunny:

I'm always INSULTED by cheap chocolate or worse, FAKE chocolate flavored stuff. I'm such a chocolate snob. :snooty:
I KNOW! Me too! I can vouch for the special dark kisses but it's way too dangerous for me to buy a BIG bar of dark chocolate!
Oh and I lllllooooovvvveeee those little Dove thingies....they are like silk when you suck on them (wow, that didn't sound very good did it?)
Not silk........BUTTER! :) Just like butter in your mouth. But I know what you mean.
I will come on here and read all the great things that got me motivated again!
Fidge.........I wanted to mention how incredibly skinny you look today. Your clothes look loose too. Have you lost some weight? You look FABULOUS!
Oh and I still drink way too much tea each day I use equal but I am fillibng 20 oz cups with tea and they are light I use whole milk in it I hate skim in my tea.
Me, too.....I can't stand any other kind of milk in my coffee. Here's what I do....fill 1 cup with whole milk and when it's gone.....it's GONE. Step away....don't reach for more. You had your milk for the day. :)
My only problem is that 1 leads to the whole bag!
No, no.....put them somewhere inconvenient. Take out 2 or how-ever-many you want and then put them back in that hard to get to spot. NEVER sit down with the bag!
BTW who has my fireman guy, I think I see sparks in the garbage......HURRY send him back!
I think I saw him holding hands with Aladdin when we were at Disney World..... :sad2:
my diet killers are stress and getting to hungry...seems liek if I get to hungry then I stress and freak out and binge on whatever I can find...first I go for the sweet and then I go for salt....
Try not to keep your binge foods in the house. I quit buying chips about a year ago. I don't need them, the kids don't need them....one less binge worry.
I so much prefer dark choc to milk choc
YES!
kay i've fought it long enuff...am going to bed..rght after I see if nebo posted another TR installment...night peeps!
The nebo show is on Thursdays. Don't ask me why but he always seems to post on Thursday night. :confused3
TOTAL: 1455 calories and at least 90 oz. of water

Yeah, yeah, so I had a Hershey's kiss and an Oreo, but I REALLY wanted them, and I only had one of each, so I'm OK with that. :thumbsup2
You go, Lynda! Have that hershey kiss and the Oreo. Calories look great! It's gonna be another good week for you!
I tried the Lime Cilantro Shrimp Kashi dinner tonight. Yummy!:thumbsup2
Where do you get these??? They sound great!
Thank you. It's the support of the peeps that helped me to stop.

I got mine at my local Wal Mart. I haven't looked anywhere else. I was there this week, and I had heard UM talk about them, so I thought I would try them. They have other varieties, but they were sold out of them. They are probably the best ones, and everybody had taken them. :rotfl:

Good morning Peeps. I just wanted to check in and see what I missed last night. I am home sick today...those Lymph Nodes (that Dr Dene) are swollen even worse and my neck and back are so stiff I can hardly move.

But I had to drag my butt out of bed to finish a quote for work (I would have had to drag my butt out of a coffin to finish this one...) and since I was here, I had to stop in and say morning!

Now I'm going back to bed. Try to stay out of trouble while I'm gone...

and Dis, don't think I'm working out tonight...sorry.

Christy, I am right there with you. I'll be really excited when I get down to 150, but have a ways to go after that. If it helps, it looks like were at the same spot. Yes your points go down after 150. I can help you if you haven't gotten any, but it sounds like several peeps have given you info. On a side note, they said on the news last night that Mike (your DH's cousin - I think) was interviewing for the Miami Dolphins coaching position. That would be ironic since that is where our new AL coach came from.

Thanks!! It's nice to know there are others in the exact same boat :) . . . I just get so frustrated with the weight fluctuation each day and I'm always trying to figure out what I did to cause it. I'm a little nervous about eventually trying to decrease to 20 pts. a day, so for now I guess I'll just take it day to day and try to keep within or maybe even under my 22 pts. :cheer2: We can do it!!

Yeah, my DH was excited when we heard Mike interviewed with the Dolphins. We think it was more or less just a favor to his dad, and he probably won't get hired as a head a coach right now, but maybe as an assistant back w/ the Dolphins depending on who they do hire. It would be pretty ironic if the dolphins did hire him . . . That would fix "Nick Satan" as we're all calling him!! No offense against Alabama, but unfortunately it looks as though the administration still thinks hiring a new coach will fix problems that run pretty deep in the organization :sad2: !!

What are some of your (the collective your) major diet killers?????

What can we do as a group to solve those bad habbits???

discuss?

My major diet killer is that I don't do deprivation well and, no kidding, I have to reduce my daily calories to about 1000 AND exercise like crazy to lose anything. I know that sounds ridiculously low, but I'm only 5' tall and to sustain weight I need about 1400 calories a day. It takes 3500 calories to make a pound, so if I want to lose a pound a week, it's 1000 per day or less. But I get really, really hungry when I exercise regularly and I wind up eating more. Even though it's healthy foods, I can't lose this way. After a week of this, I get tired and give up.

How to remedy this? All I can think is that I need to reduce calories and just do yoga (i.e. no aerobic activity) for a few weeks to dump the pounds and then start walking/running again. Any other opinions are welcome!

Hope you get to feeling better soon. If you want a funny story, read what happened to me yesterday. It is on page 257 at the top. Word of caution, do not read while drinking or your computer could be at risk.;)
OMG, thank you - that was hysterical! I'm so sorry you went through all that, though:hug: What a day!
I am starting to feel better, thank you. But I sound disgusting - all that congestion is er... finding a way out of my head.

Happy Thursday Peeps! Hope everyone's doing well today. Big weigh-in tomorrow - WE CAN DO IT!!!!
