Thats three weeks from my start date, that I started on a friday! I must have known!
Thanks for all the welcomes! I have just a quick second to type and run!

Do the jeans run small at Lane Bryant or did I actually gain weight on a diet?! My old 18's were snug do I graqbbed 2 pair 20's at mall and I have at least 2 inches before I can button but my 18 a.n.a jeans from JCPenney fit fine.
I have developed multiple health issues all at once and just keep getting weepy.Instead of giving me a hug DH says sarcastically get some professional help and walks away. How can such a brilliant man be such a blockhead?:sad2:
I hope you are all doing well with the dieting and have a good weekend. I have to work then help at DD play selling concesssions.
See ya Sunday.
Di

+2.6 lbs. I need to superglue my lips!

No, I'm an 18 in other and a 20 loose at Lane Bryant!

Yes!!! I LOVE that show too!!! And OMGosh! Don't leave me hangin' like that! I won't say what happened in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, but holy cow! This was me after the show - ! How am I supposed to make it a week before there's more???

And what about Grey's??? OMG!!! (see above) :)

We watch Grey's, too! I have to admit, it was a good episode last night! I hope they don't wait too long to get Alex and Addison together! What do you guys think about Callie? Do you like her or not? We've decided that we really like Callie O'Mally! I'm sure Meridith will be OK, but I can't wait to see how they find her!

-Michelle

I was like this  throught the entire hour! So looking forward to next week. Alex definitely was not my fave in the beginning but the way he is around all the pregnant patients and babies melts my heart! He's growing on me! And Callie O'Malley  - I didn't care for her in the beginning either, especially with good ol' George. BUT, again, I think they made her more likeable and I like her now too. Although I still think she looks strange with George. She overpowers him but they make each other happy so thats all that matters. OK, I'm talking as if they are real people! :rotfl2: Oh and I have no doubt that Meredith will be fine. I think it's that little missing girl who finds Derek and leads him to her. I'm sure there will be some tense moments though as is the Grey's way. Do you think they will find that little girl's mother? Or that she will finally say something!?

:bday:
party: Happy Birthday mygirlsof2! party:

I got mail - thanks Aries and UMama!!! I love it!

Have a skinny minnie day Peeps!
*Shannon

Yeah Linda!!! Good job!!!!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Hang in there! The weight WILL come off! :thumbsup2

Thank you too, and yes, Grey's was good. :) I was just floored when it was over. I am chomping at the bit for more! I do like Callie. She has really grown on me this season. Although she aggravated me last night. I also want Alex and Addison together. Hope something happens soon. Can't wait for next week! Love that show!

Lynda,

I've been watching your posts and I don't think you're eating enough! I think your body believes you are starving so it's storing the fat. I think you need at least 2000 calories a day. I started at 230 and decided that I wanted to initially lose 20 lbs so I ate 2100 calories a day. I've lost 18 since we started (had a terrible plateau for 3 weeks in Jan/Feb) as I lose 10 lbs I decrease my calories by 100. This week I'll eat 1900 calories each day! If I have extra calories left at the end of the day, I treat myself to a snack! By the way 12 lbs is awesome!

Thank you. That thought had occurred to me. The only problem - I wasn't eating that much more than that before I started here, and I was gaining. I believe a number of things contributed to a smaller loss this week...not being able to be exact on calories both Friday night and Saturday (although I thought I did pretty well, it might not have been QUITE as good as I thought), pooh: muffins are moving through my system rather slowly (I haven't had any in a few days because of this.), and the biggie was Sunday (I ate a LOT. Not all of it bad, but some of it was. And I ate enough of it that I felt VERY FULL. When I noticed that, I stopped, but it took a while to feel better afterwards.) So, this week, I will not cheat as badly on cheat day. I have some ideas of how I am going to do this. (For one, not have a table full of super bowl snacks in front of me for 3 hours!) And I will probably shoot a bit higher on the calories. I am thinking 1500-1800 instead of 1200-1500. I will also exercise!!! If all of this doesn't work, then I will know that I need to re-evaluate.

I'm a gainer this week. Stupid no colon blow. No, that's not it. I didnt try. I started out trying but still need to exercise. I KNOW THIS! The basics are: eat less (i do) and move more (i dont). Without one or the other its for sure 100% doomed to failure. I know this first hand. Ask Bob from the Oprah show. Ask Bob from the Biggest Loser. Ask any of the Biggest Loser participants. Ask anyone who's ever maintained any weight loss ever. I need to exercise!!!!!!!!! I'm mad at myself for being lazy and thinking I can do this without exercising when it's never worked in the past.

When I dont try hard enough, why am I surprised when I dont lose?
I'm on the right track. I think the "eating" less (eating very healthy, making good choices, water, water, water etc) is definitely awesome. So I'm focused on the good. Now I need to focus on the NEED TO EXERCISE!!!! I know I sound mad or discouraged, but I'm not at all. I'm really happy! I have the support. I have the knowledge. I have alllll the tools I need. No more excuses, huh? I can and will do this. Conquer this. I will not give up! I'm worth it!!!

I've been thinking about that saying, "The first bite tastes as good as the last". Sometimes we are not eating to taste it. Sometimes we're eating not to stuff ourselves but to stuff down feelings...one bite doesn't stuff down feelings very well.

Sorry, I know I sound down. I'm not! I'm doing some soul searching and just sharing my feelings. Recognizing my strengths and weeknesses. I needed to do this for myself.

EXERCISE! Move more and eat less! I can do this!

Including the early bird, Duncanssweetie, so far it's 33!!! (I didnt count the gains) Y'all ROCK!!!! Moo and Fidge lost 4!!!! Francesca and Duncanssweetie and Wonders and pixiedust lost 3!!! BIG LOSERS!!!!!

SO Proud!!!!

I know what you mean about the exercise! I understand how you feel! I know I have said that before. The thing is, once I start doing it, it won't be so bad, but I have a HARD time getting going - a very hard time! Time is one of my issues when it comes to this too. UM, let's promise each other we will do something today for, I don't know, 20 minutes? SOMETHING! I know we can both do it. We have to commit! What do you say?

I can't stnad cold water when its sooo cold, I will try hot water with a lemon wedge tongiht and see how that is, will let you know!

OK ready for a giggle .... I went for an interview at the local hotel here. WE are in a toursity kinda town. I was asked if I would consider being a TOUR GUIDE on the baot, what a hoot!!!! TOO FUNNY!!

I got a spring in my step today, can't you picutre me as plus size TOUR GUIDE BARBIE!!!
Bye Bye Bye bye bye bye

OK now another happy note, I got called back for 2nd interview today for a differnt job the one I interviewdd for the other day. The gal said she was interviewing all next week and setting up 2nd interviews the following week?? Very confusing but thats ok as I am still dressed from this am interview. By the way I got the job in the evenings at the local hotel! Very exciting will start in several weeks, I wanted to get out there as there are not many PT jobs to be had. Was fearful I would be pumping gas in 0 degree weather ans that would not be very good right now!

Ok ladies I am on fire thanks for keeping me sparked!!

Love you guys!!! Have I told you that lately?? Ok so maybe 3 hours ago!

I think you would make a great tour guide! Congrats on the job!

I am still the same again. Not going to let it get to me, though. I know that I am making positive changes and when the weight is ready to go bye-bye it will go.

Good news at our house. Dh owns a business in the mountains of Colorado that he has run for several years which means he is away from home 4 days a week. Well a business here in Cheyenne has come up for sale which is right along the lines of what he wants to do when he grows up so he is selling the business in Colorado and will be home full time now. I am totally excited for the new business as it is a fitness center and I will be able to go and work out when I can squeeze it into my schedule (DH has been telling me since we got married that a gym membership cost too much but apparently the same is not true for gym ownership:rotfl: ). Anyway, I am totally excited :cool1:

That does sound great!

SO Proud!!!!

Thanks for being an encouragement to all of us. I believe in the law of sowing and reaping, so I pray that you will reap all the encouragement you have sown! I agree that I often eat based on feelings. Ex. being out of commission this week and frustrated has made me hungry!

The first bite is as good as the last refers more to those times that I am in a situation - like a party - and everything looks so good, that I can have a bite and enjoy the taste....but stop there!

DisneyJo good luck on the treatment!! For makeup that Bare Minerals does wonders on my roscea!!
I have rosacea too! So does NSalz. I started with the cream and pills too, but the cream itself seems to do the job now. I only use the pills when I'm expecting Aunt Flo, as that's when the redness is the worst for me.
Peeps are amazing any problem someone has at least one peep has experienced the same and are ready with loads of good advice, Thanks!

My mom just sent me a link to the front page news on my hometown paper. Mom has been named interim director of the chamber of commerce. She was retired for 2 weeks when they asked her to take over. Hopefully they'll find someone soon and she'll go back to "retirement". Isn't she cute?
mom.jpg
Melinda your Mum looks lovely and so young, I can definately see a likeness.

Congrats to all the losers another great week Peeps. :thumbsup2

okay I am breaking in from my lurking to interject my opinion on the nonloss/exercise issue of Utah and Lynda

I think you guys are great, I have been totally inspired by your willpower and ability to accomplish your goals...I also think Pixie is totally right.

If you eat less your body will consume the fewer calories, but at some point it says hold up, we might not get anymore food and so it stops burning that fuel and goes into hibernation.. and then the only way to get off that plateau is to up your work...Lynda, I think you are on target with your additional cals, and if you will just add some movemetn to this you will probably see your scales go down, maybe not the first week, or the second, but you will in time see it go down.

When I dont feel like exercising and my workout buddy doesnt feel like it either, we say, lets just go and do 20 minutes. and we usually end up doing more, but if not we at least moved for 20 minutes, and we always feel better about it ...

Besides- you guys gotta get with it so you'll be ready for our Peepmeet!!! Let that be you inspiration adn goal...all of us crossing that finish line together!!! We can do it - (in my best tony little voice)

reread what I wrote - so totally dont watn you to think I am being ugly, or negative to you

I love you and watn to help you like you've helped me !!!

PS I am still waitin on Dene to Swoop in on us and blow us out of the water with her results this week!!!

I am having a hard time with water...at 2 degrees at mid-day, who want to drink cold water?!? I am trying to drink herbal tea to get some of the water in. Averaging 48oz a day instead of 64oz. I need to do better! :guilty:

I can't stnad cold water when its sooo cold, I will try hot water with a lemon wedge tongiht and see how that is, will let you know!

Just keep slimmin! The plateaus are very frustrating! It's very tempting to eat a plate of brownies or a family size bag of potato chips!!!

Harley, I'm sneakin in too, I have 3 minutes to post - thought I could reply to the replies I quoted!!!

and I wanted to add...

UTM :dance3: Do not ever forget like Jo said, what one Peep posts, several swoop in with a "ME TOO"... Wendy... "me too"... I think my biggest help was that I HAD to walk down the Mag Mile, etc... no hope for it, I had to do it....

So, knowing me, and knowing my "excuse" meter runs very high (have I been back to Ballys since the funeral? NO, and its FREE!! ugggg) I went and signed up for the bloody 1/2 marathon, that'll make me get off me bum!!

Now Aries and I, and I believe you also... found something to exercise to while dis'n... stand up, sit down... put your hands behind your back... etc... mostly Wendy, I try and "dance" when brushing my teeth, doing the stand up tall at all times, the good aole.. SUCK IT IN - when you are at a stop light, suck in that gut... and if you take the stairs, run down, and do them again, twice as much, PARK farther away... draggin the kiddies...

oops 3 min is up,

hope you enjoyed my pep talk, now I need to practice what I preach!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

:rotfl:
lOSS OF 4 LBS YIPPEEE!! i CAN NOW PUT ON A 15LB RIBBON!! I can't tell you all how happy I am. I am now at 202 and you know I will be over the moon when I get under the 200 mark!

Thanks to all of you crazy peeps I think I can really do this. I am feeling haelthy, by the way, no colon blow yesterday. I am wondering how much gas weighs as close your eyes I could have put my boys to shame yesterday!

I am finally believing that this April thing is possible and maybe not the number I wnat to be at but I will not be at the number I started with in January!

That means you know I could feel a bit adventerous and dangerous in Disney...Watch out Tigger I may just grab that tail!!!!

Congratulations WOOOO HOOOOOTY

BORG- -its when you do something that someone else does - a coincidence of sorts... but special - UTM can help 'splain it better!!

PIGGET How cute is that - and I gotta tell you my mil approves!! (now, see its because that's her way of thinking her 'surprise' baby needed a sibling... my 'surprise' baby, did NOT - I was too overwhelmed... but honestly I wish dd did have a sibling her age - its awkward more times than not for her!! So good for you, follow your heart!! and CONGRATULATIONS - ooo dvc and a cruise!!

UTM That is so sweet!! Doncha just love the Nanny shows? They tell you how to keep your 2yr old in that crib w/o the sides!! yeah, easier said than done Nanny Jo!! (I'm still fighting that battle 8 years later!! :sad2: )

DisneyJo good luck on the treatment!! For makeup that Bare Minerals does wonders on my roscea!!

snow watch more Oprah - its NOT the number, but the fit, for bras, jeans etc!! I know what you mean about the number, I have the same problem, my jeans from Carsons (Tommy Hilfiger) size 20, so went to get an 18 (mind you my 18's from before barely went over my hips!!) but I tried on... oh maybe 20 pairs - and 3 different ones from Lane Bryant, one style fit perfectly, not snug mind you, but oh so much better than the 20's - - however the dress pants are still 20's ???? PAH FOOEY on your dh!! oh please - like life is easy on his side!! Come here anytime you want a lift - and do journal, blog, vent, scream, etc!! We're here for each other!!

of course your "instead of giving me a hug" scenario reminded me of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and Deborah's PMS show!!! "THIS is not HUGGABLE" so you march up to dh and tell him "GIVE ME A HUG NOW!!" The Peeps said so!! *grin

I forgot to take notes, somebody's edit line cracked me up!!

This baby is for my surprise baby. I did not want him to be like an only child later on. Now he will have a playmate. We are soooo excited.

-1 pound!!!!

That is so exciting! Honey, I hate to tell you this - but your diet days are over!!! You are about to gain weight, not lose it!
I know they are over, but I do not really want to gain much. I am just trying to maintain--and if I can lose a little great :lmao:

Go get your ribbon!

Stacey- Grumpy comes home today. Tongiht.

BEE I am so glad he gets to come home. :cool1:
What a bunch of LOSERS!!! :rotfl:
CONGRATS to everyone who lost this week - I knew you could do it! :thumbsup2

For the uppers (hmmm, that doesn't sound quite right!), and same-the-samers, take heart - I'm here to tell you without a doubt weight fluctuates all over the palce for reasons you may never expect...
pigget, you'll appreciate this: I have a lot of hair on my head. And I know how much heavier it feels when wet. So I conducted a little experiment today. Weighed-in before and after shower. Ready for this?
a 3 pound difference! I can't tell you how many times I've weighed in post-shower and couldn't understand how I gained 3 pounds in one day. :rotfl2:

:grouphug: to all who are facing challenges on this day. Things WILL get better, my friends!

ACCOUNTABILITY: Season premiere of Survivor last night - no way was I going to miss half the dialogue thanks to the roar of the TM. I could've parked my behind on the couch and called it a day off. Instead, I got out my old step and did some step aerobics during the commercial breaks, for a total of 20 minutes! :yay:

Keep on slimming... we can do it!:cheer2:

I typically do not weigh after I shower--really do not know why I did this today. I know I will not do it again. :rotfl:

what a cute story

Wow i am posting before UM! that never happens or watch we will be posting same time ...
I am the same which is fine with me at least i am not gaining..
Congrats to all the loosers & stay the samers Only on the dis boards is (stay the samers )okay to say anywhere else we would be considered illiterate:rotfl:
everyone have a great skinnie minnie day..:grouphug:

How is little man doing? Hope he is sleeping better.

I am recording Greys...I'll go watch after this.

I gotta tell y'all something cute and funny!
Norah (my 2 year old for the off-chance anyone doesn't know her by now) can climb out of her crib. So for her safety, I removed the one rail and it's a "day bed" now. So she gets out alot. And is creative for the reasoning too. SOOOO, a few minutes ago, she came slowly into the kitchen with a blanket covering her whispering, "WoOooOOoo"... so I said in a semi-loud voice:
"OH ! A GHOST! I'm scared!" which FREAKED her out. She wipped off the blaket and looked around for the ghost and then ran to me all skeered!!!! I was totally laughing so hard, NO sound was coming out!!!

That was very funny. I laughed out loud on that one.:rotfl:

We are back home and Joshua is doing fine. He is alseep right now. I am going to try and tidy the house before he wakes up. I am pretty tired so I might try and take a nap as well.

UM~ (and all the peeps) Getting psyched (there's an 80's word for ya!) for exercise sucks more than a Dyson! But if you can just get your bum up an exercising, you'll feel so good and so proud!

I find just getting to the elliptical is the hard part and it's right in my family room.

So, I took a shower and got dressed (DH is gone getting the car cleaned) and I had big plans to sneak off to work for awhile - everyday home is another day behind at work and I am going stir crazy. Today I have done laundry and cleaned out my car so we can sell it and straightened house - I am done sitting! So anyway, get dressed and get ready to make my grand escape AND DH took my keys!!! Now I ask you, where is the trust in that? GRRRRR.

So he just got home and someone wants to buy my old car. We have been frantically searching for the title! We are the worst at keeping up with stuff. I am sure it is in a safe place. But guess what I found while I was looking...DS's health certificate! Of course I already received his new one I ordered last week! I am sure once we order a new title, we will find it!

I was just wondering about you, Heather. I am glad Joshua is doing well. It is always amazing how quickly kids bounce back! DS had knee surgery when he was 5 and he did great. If only we were so resilient!

I'm a gainer this week. Stupid no colon blow. No, that's not it. I didnt try. I started out trying but still need to exercise. I KNOW THIS! The basics are: eat less (i do) and move more (i dont). Lil man had two really good nights slept through the night and i woke up thinking he was dead... but he was just sleeping ...:cloud9: but he also has had some hard nights not as bad he wakes up and cries but now i can usually calm him down by just talking to him,(thank heavens)we had him tested for celiac disease and that came back negative , we changed his milk again to bright beginnings pedia sure soy and that seems to be helping. i am hoping he grows out of his night terrors by feb 16th because after being married 14 yrs me and the dh are going to vegas for a weekend not a vacation like we have had , (oh congratulations it's a boy, boy, girl, boy, boy):rotfl: my sister is watching my 5 kids so hopefully he will be okay... thanks for asking..

Thank you. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I did the most damage on Sunday, and I got back on track, but that's really only 4 days of "back on track", and one of those days was food day. Even though I stayed under 1800 that day, I ate a lot. I had a small brownie, and while everything else was pretty healthy, I ate a lot at lunch and felt that FULL feeling a bit then too. I also increased my fruits, veggies, and grains the past couple of days, but that probably hasn't had a chance to catch up to me yet and show on the scale.

I would LOVE to get that 15 lb ribbon next week, but it's not do or die. I would need to lose 3 lbs. I would be happy with 2. Well, I'm happy with anything, but 2 would be great. And I DID lose .6 lbs! So, I really am happy about that. I just don't want to come to a screeching halt here, so I am trying to address this before that happens.

reread what I wrote - so totally dont watn you to think I am being ugly, or negative to you

I love you and watn to help you like you've helped me !!!

Not for a second would I think that! Thank you for your support! :goodvibes

PS I am still waitin on Dene to Swoop in on us and blow us out of the water with her results this week!!!

Thank you! Ya know, that reminds me...I remember when I first started posting here that there was a lot of that exercise pep talk going on. I had forgotten, but I remember seeing lots of posts about the arms behind your back thing, or the clenching your boo-tay. I think we need more of that stuff! I miss it! So, thanks Sandy! And... clench those glutes ladies! Clench, release, clench, release! (I'm not sure I am the one who should be trying to motivate people to exercise right now. That was a little pathetic.:rotfl: )

UM~ (and all the peeps) Getting psyched (there's an 80's word for ya!) for exercise sucks more than a Dyson! But if you can just get your bum up an exercising, you'll feel so good and so proud!

I find just getting to the elliptical is the hard part and it's right in my family room.

I know this from experience, and I still struggle! I WILL do it this week though! I must!

BTW, I want an elliptical & a treadmill, but my recumbent bike is in our dining room. (We haven't bought a dining room table since moving into our house 3 years ago!) And there's not room for all three peices of equipment in the dining room, and they won't fit in the family room either. I wish they would though. It would be a lot easier if I could watch TV while I was using it! I read though, and I DO love to read.

Hi everyone! Sorry for being MIA for so long. I spent a week a Disney (had a wonderful time!) and came back Superbowl Eve... so I went straight into cheese dip and snack foods and then there were leftovers and I just wasn't in the mood to be good.

So I stayed away another week cause I didn't want to bring y'all down... but it is Friday and I am here! I had the flu last night so I am back to my goal weight which is how I left for my vacation. So you can say I stayed the same (actually I gained 2 lbs and then lost 2 lbs).

Anyway- I missed you guys! And I need to be here... I know from experience that if I am not working at losing or maintaining then I am gaining.

Also I need to work on water consumption and exercise.

Glad to see all the losses and positive changes around here!

oh and this is my 1600th post
