Hi everyone! I'm new here. This trip was planned for my son on a last minute whim. We are heading to WDW next week. I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some tips of what attractions my 14 month old might like. I am doing quite a few of the character dinners but I'm not sure if he will be able to go on any rides like Dumbo, Its a Small World, Pooh, etc. Please let me know if you've traveled with a baby what they were able to go on. TIA!

My dd was 15mos her first trip and it was wonderful. She rode everything without a height restriction including Dumbo, Pirates, Peter pan etc and love them all. Her language exploded during the trip and she called all the rides "boats" and the phrase "more boats, more boats" was often heard.

If you have a sling or bjorn I highly recommend taking it along for the lines and pavilions where strollers aren't allowed. Other than that just take it a bit slow, make sure the toddler (and you) stay hydrated and enjoy.

Welcome :)

Thanks we are so excited for our trip. I never thought of the Bjorn, he hasn't been in it for a loong time, not sure if he'll still fit. I'll have to dig it out. Thanks!

Your little one can ride any ride without height restrictions and there are tons of them. I would highly recommend a sling as well, although the bjorn would be on the bottom of my list. There is tons of standing in line and a good baby carrier is so helpful while you are waiting. The ergo, beco, patapum, all ones I would recommend.

We are taking our 13 month old DD next month! I am so excited about this trip and I cannot wait to see her face light up when she sees everything. I am sure you will have a wonderful time! And there is more they can do, than cannot do. You will have a blast!

We are also making our first trip with 12mo DD at the end of the month! Sooo excited:cool1:

We went when DD was 18months and she was hilarious at Mickey's Philharmagic show. She kept trying to grab things during the 3D show. :lmao: The Pooh ride is also great for little ones!

Honestly, at that age, they will not remember the trip. It's about spending time together as a family.

My kids' favorite park is Epcot. Why? Because my DH and I love (love) it! We just did what we thought we'd like, and took them to what they would enjoy. No matter what, you'll have a good time.

Of course, PLEASE do Winnie the Pooh! My DD loved the Teacups (but don't spin me PLEASE). If you don't spin it's nice (it was her first ride ever anywhere at 2).

It's a Small World is fine - they can sit on your lap. Dumbo I think I'd wait on. The character meals may be a bit much for that age. I'd just go with the flow and do what feels right. Take it easy (it'll be hot and rain periodically). The characters can be scary at that age - don't push it.

A lot of shows they can sit on your lap. Don't overdo it. The baby carrier may be hot - think sauna! A stroller is good, then a bit of carrying and walking (of course not too much walking). Drink lots of water - you can get extra ice water at any place that has fountain drinks.

Take your time and enjoy the little things!

We're taking DD14mo in 2+ weeks! I'm super excited. Honestly I think I'm more excited to go myself, lol. I'm keeping low expectations on her reactions to things, but hey, it's a good excuse to have breakfast with the Princessses!

We took DD at 9 and 18 months. She could actually ride most rides at Magic Kingdom! Look at the height restrictions and you'll see!

Wow, thanks for the responses everyone! We cannot wait! I'm actually surprised by how much he'll be able to do. I know he won't remember anything but just to see his face light up (hopefully!) when we are there will make it all worth it! My biggest concern (today) is that most likely we will be spending a lot of time going back and forth from the parks to the hotel for the nap! My DS usually doesn't sleep in his stroller. Although, I have hope!
