Hi Princess Libby

How wonderful that you have decided to join us here on WISH. We have a great support group here and lots of people on all kinds of eating plans just waiting to help you reach your goals.

I'm so impressed with you for taking control of your eating while you have 15 pounds to lose instead of 100 pounds to lose, like me.

Good for you! You can add our DIS WISH challenge clipart to your signature if you like. There is a great post telling you how to do that right HERE. Our own wovenwonder wrote it for us and she did a great job, too.

Don't be shy, now. I'm counting on your participation, here on WISH. The wonderful people here have been very helpful to me and I'm sure they will be helpful for you too.

Welcome!

Katholyn

Hi there Nativetxn and friends

I am afraid I have not been able to post much but I have a really good excuse. I have been walking miles upon miles. Have found that the further I walk from the refrigerator the more weight I lose. I am down a total of 5.5 pounds for the month. As I have already lost almost 80 pounds that is good. It is harder to lose after awhile. Thank you all for the encouragement and help. If anyone would like any advice on what to do I would be glad to help. Having made all the mistakes through the years I know lots of things NOT to do. LOL

So I'm hoping coming here and 'hanging' with you guys will help!!

Kathi

Ok Katholyn - I am ready to make changes - needed to be mentally ready too. After reading your WISH board postings and watching the Oprah show the other day, I can do it!!! Hope to join Weight Watchers this week. So glad to have so much support! Caroline

Hi! My name is Maureen and I have been a yo yo dieter for years. Several years back I lost a significant amount of weight and body fat on the body for life program. I never did reach my ultimate goal and it became increasingly harder for me do follow due to some life and job changes and over the past two years. I put on about half of the weight I originally lost.

Seven weeks ago I started from scratch. I am seeing a personal trainer 3 days a week on days I am off work.I am also doing cardio 3 mornings a week before breakfast and work. Sometimes have to get up at 4am to achieve this but I know I have to do it.

I am happy to say that so far I have lost 11 lbs and am definitely feeling better about myself. My Ultimate goal is about 20 more lbs which will bring me back to where I was before marriage and before children.

I am still following most of the body for life principles. 5-6 smaller meals per day.High protein, Low fat, moderate carbs, lots of water, no white flour carbs including bread, pasta, rice, etc. and no carbs after 3pm except for green veggies.Nothing to eat after 7 pm and one day a week for about an hour I get to splurge on whatever I want. Tonight is the night and I am psyched.

Sign me up.

My trouble with weight actual started in High school at the weight of 105 pounds. I did the starvation thing to get to 95 pounds. Well to say the least, over the next 7 years or so, I really messed up my metabolism with that approach. Now at a considerable amount of weight gain, I am shooting for a reasonable 130. My plans are to "Go Healthy." Eat only when I am hungry and only that food which I need to not be hungry.

My first goal is caffiene. Since my doctor took me off of Nutra Sweet, I really need to remove my desire for Cokes. Wish me luck.

TN Robin, welcome! Your story sound similar to mine. I've always been rather underweight but once I got pregnant I gained ALOT and I have tried various things but can't seem to get those pounds off. I, too, have cut cokes completely from my diet. Other than the occasional headache now from the lack of caffiene, I'm not really craving any just yet. (Hopefully never!)

Best of luck to you with staying healthy!

KathiWithAnI It's so great to see you here on WISH. I'm glad you decided to join us. If you would like to add the WISH challenge clipart there is a great post telling you how to do that right HERE

Will you be following a specific eating plan or just making healthy food choices. We have lots of different eating plans represented here on WISH.

We have a great support group here. I hope you can visit often and join in with us. We have a lot of fun and we have a lot of success you are going to be perfect in my support group, I can already tell :)

lovingthemouse I'm so glad you are ready to make changes. You are going to be a very important part of my support group, I have no doubt.

I just posted a link telling Kathi how to add the clipart to her signature, wovenwonder wrote those instructions for us and they are very helpful. If you need any assistance just ask Kelsie, glo or me and we'll find you some help or you could also ask for help on the Technical Support Board and they will help you too :)

Everyone of us here on WISH decided to make changes too and we are helping each other to do that. I think you are really going to like it here. Just join right in, no lurking allowed, okay? I count on you being part of my support group. I'm kind of selfish that way. You can do this, sweetie, I know you can.

Will you follow a formal eating plan? Which one?

MO64RN It's so good to see you here. I would be willing to guess that a large number of us WISHers were yo-yo dieters. We are all working hard to break that habit. I'm glad you will be working on that right along with us.

You sound very determined and motivated and you are already quite a success. You are going to be such a good example to me. I'm looking forward to reading your posts and seeing you participate here on WISH, it just helps me so much to get to know my fellow WISHers. You will motivate me a lot, I can tell that already.

Is your eating plan called Body for Life? I'd like to add you to our list of WISH challengers and include your program.

TnRobin This is just so exciting! It is so great to see you here on WISH, my friend. You have the greatest sense of humor. I'm really looking forward to reading your posts.

So you are going to be eating healthy? Excellent! You sound motivated and determined to get healthy, that's a very good thing.

I have the Daisy Duck pin you sent me on an index card next to my computer ( I don't want to lose it but I like to look at it everyday, it makes me smile).

You are a very thoughtful and caring person, Robin, you are going to be a wonderful addition to my support group. I'm sure I don't have to tell you no lurking allowed....do I?

I just love seeing new members of WISH. We have a terrific support group here, lots of encouragement and motivation all over the place.

Everybody ready? Ready? Set....GO!

Onward and Downwards, my friends. Get ready to be successful!

Katholyn

I started Atkins Monday but didn't post on WISH and get my clippie until Fri, so I guess Fri will be my weigh-in day. My original goal was 35 lbs but I'm down 5 lbs since Mon (I just had to check my progress) so I'm shooting for another 30 lbs. It may not seem like a lot, but when it's on a 5'1/4" frame of a "mature" (a wee bit older than Kath) woman, it will mean a lot.

Gosh, Karen, too bad you didn't delurk before Friday ;)

I'm really glad to see you here, my friend. You are already successful and on your way to goal!

We will both lose bunches of weight, get really healthy and cruise again. That was so much fun in September :)

Thank you for your warm welcome NATIVE TXN. It sounds like you are quite the sucess yourself. To answer your question. Yes, Body for llife is the actual plan I am following. I found out about it in 1999 while looking through one of my DH's Muscle magazine. What I like about the plan is it's a healthy weight loss. Lose fat, gain muscle an ultimately gain strenth and endurance not to mention self esteem. Like I said previously I followed the plan several years back and had great success. This time it will be for good. If I don't do it now I never will. Like weight watchers it is a way of life. Not only will I lose the weight but I will firm and tone as well. There is a best seller "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips. Also a web site http://BodyforLife.com Just to give you an example after being on the plan for 5 weeks my Cholesterol went from 213 to 150. To me that is awesome. Plus it is a safe and non rapid weight loss. Average 1-2lbs per week.

im willing to join. i need to get into better shape than i am. i'll go the old way and just exercise daily, i am always walking but maybe i should upgrade that to jogging or bike riding. water workds for me and so do fruits and veggies! lets hope this works! *crosses fingers*

Lurking on DVC and found a post with W.I.S.H. on it. I am not sure how to go directly to this thread. I am posting via a link in a post! Maybe I will find you. Can someone tell me what this post is about?

Just started a "new" diet! Slim-Fast! Any help from fellow dis-board people is welcome! ;)

I plan to lurk a little on this thread!

HI.. I hope that I can still join. I am using herbalife. I would love to lose weight before our trip in December. I will enjoy Disney alot more without toting my excess weight. Good luck to all. Sherry

OK Kamy and Snoopy

You've got me thinkin I could do this again. I've done WW in the past and the points are really easy to use especially when you can have dessert. Count me in I too must shed some pounds to feel comfortable in August in WDW too hot to cover up.

I'll take the WISH challenge and hope the dis magic will help me along. Of course I'll be checking back here for encouragement support and of course great tips.

id like to join the challenge! Im not on any special diet, since I don't have much to lose, I pretty much just want to look good in a bathing suit for my cruise this summer! I'm cutting down on junk food, because I eat way too much, and I've started running after school and doing crunches. Any suggestions on what I can do for flabby thighs and pot belly??

Okay, so I have been lurking and posting on the WISH board and I even have a pm buddy, so maybe it is time to officially join Dis Wish! :) Right now I am just trying to make healthier eating choices, actually I was told I should eat more when I went for my yearly dr. visit. The first thing I am working on is eating breakfast. I am also starting Curves and trying to be more physically active overall. I may try weight watchers in the future if the workouts aren't enough combined with sensible eating.

MO64RN Thanks for the link. I think I've got you added to the list with the correct program. Don't forget to visit us often :)

MagicalTink Achieving physical fitness is an admirable goal. Welcome to WISH :)

mitcam I believe that the webmasters have added a link to WISH on the forums main page now so just look for it under the "just for fun" category :)

There are a few WISHers following the slimfast plan you have a ready made support group waiting to help you with that and of course, as a bonus you get all of the rest of us WISHers to help you smile if you feel down, motivate you when you need a boost and to walk this path right along with you.

You can add the WISH challenge clipart to your signature if you want. There is a post telling you how to do that, right HERE Then if you want, everytime you lose five pounds you will get a new clipart, it's a lot of fun :) Our Kelsie made these cliparts for us :)

I hope you don't lurk too long. I really need you in my support group. Your participation here will help you and us too.

I'm really glad you decided to take the WISH challenge :)

We even have several WISHers who are members of DVC. I think you're going to like it here.

sherry8253 It's so great to see you here on WISH! It's never too late to take the WISH challenge. We love newbies here. You can add the WISH clipart if you want you will find directions HERE

What we do is start off at zero loss then add new clipart everytime we lose 5 pounds. It's a lot of fun and very motivating :)

I'm so glad you will be part of my support group now. I hope you can visit WISH often.

Tinkermom It's great to see you here on WISH. We have lots of WWs here and they are going to be a great help to you.

How great that you will be part of my support group now. Grab the WISH clipart if you want and join right in. No lurking allowed :)

You will find lots of motivation, strength and inspiration here on WISH, I know I do :)

MickeyMouse418 Welcome to WISH. I'm really glad you decided to join us. We have a great support group here and you will make a great addition.

"What to do about flabby thighs and a pot belly" that sounds like a really great topic for WISH. You should post that, I'll bet you get lots of replies :)

Grab your member clipart, if you want, and join right in, you're going to make a great WISHer, I'm so glad you are part of my support group now :)

ZPT1022 You're officially a member of my support group :Pinkbounc I am so glad :) I need lots of support sometimes. Make you a deal, you encourage me to eat breakfast and I'll encourage you. I just don't like to eat when I first wake up--at least not for several hours. I know just how you feel.

Grab the member clipart, if you want, it's fun to see fellow WISHers on other DIS boards. We really need to come up with a secret handshake.

You're going to have fun, here on WISH, it's just a very helpful fun place :)

I'm so glad to see some new members of my support group have signed in, get ready to be successful. We are all in this together and that makes things easier for me, I think it's going to help all of you too.

Onward and downwards!

Katholyn

HI, my friend Dottie directed me here. She is doing a fantastic job and suggested I come here for a little moral support.
I am not on any particular plan, but have done Weight Watchers in the past and still try to use the point system.
I work out regularly with weight training and the Elliptical machine. I also walk frequently.
I am doing a great job maintaining my previous weight loss, but am currently at a plateau.
I would love to get at least 10 more lbs off.
Look forward to being a part of this group!
