I have an idea about what these terms are, but could someone out there clarify them for me?

Troll
Thread Hijacking

I also would be interested to know if these are annoyances or amusements to other posters...

Troll = A person who posts outrageous and over-the-top stuff for the sole purpose to rile a large group of people up.

Tread hijacking = Getting way off the original topic of conversation. Usually done by a group of people at one time.

Hmmmm, well my ideas are that a "troll" is someone who posts things they know will stir the pot...on purpose. Trying to get a rise out of people.

Thread hijacking seems to be when a post is about subject A, but suddenly someone starts talking about subject B, and most people join in with that, forgetting subject A for the most part. Sometimes intentional, but mostly, I think not.

They don't really bother me either way. A troll can easily be ignored. Thread hijacking, when unitentional, is no big deal, atleast to me.

That's my perspective, and others may have other ideas.
