DIS Unplugged Shirts for GKTW

I may have a better solution - bear with me ;)

Oh I hope so!

I know we could probably get ours in May but I wouldn't have room for any more.

Maybe they can come over to Paris and we can meet them there for t-shirts and fun in parks :lmao:

Yeah - Kevin could set up a little t shirt cart just outside the Park and then we could all have a meet :cool1: :cool1:

Hey Gang

I appreciate the input.

The problem is with anything like a credit card service or even PayPal the fees will eat into the monies to be donated.

I realize this seems like a small issue but it kind of makes the accounting a nightmare at the moment.

We are looking for ways around it, but for the moment we are going to stick with checks or money orders. We have received a lot of checks and not one has bounced yet so I am comfortable with this system.

John
Thanks for clarifying. Agree that anything that makes it more complicated and importantly costs money being taken away from the cause is not a good thing.

Hopefully we can work together to come up with a UK solution.

John - I totally understand the reasoning behind PayPal, but it is my understanding that no fees are charged if a person pays from their checking account instead of using a credit card. If the order form says NO CREDIT CARDS, you could get the same results without the extra trips to the bank and still no fees. Just a thought....placing my order now :goodvibes

What is the TAT on the shirts? I'm just wondering if they will get here before we go to WDW on the 24th...

Unfortunately, this isn't true. I've received payments via PayPal from checking accounts and they do take out a fee. It appears to be a flat $5 fee from checking, versus a percentage when the person pays via credit card (at least in the payments I've received).

My check was mailed on Monday - can't wait to get my shirt!

I'm ready to order my shirts but we would like to add an extra donation. Should I just make out one check or send one for the shirts and one for the donation?

Give Kids The World sponsored a trip for my DS's friend's sister. She had muscular dystrophy. They went 2 years ago in April for spring break. There was a problem getting a room at their facility so they put the whole family up at the AKL. They had a great time and I'm so glad she got to go because she passed away in January 2008.

I just added some onto my check. I didn't think it would be a problem.
I volunteered at GKTW when I was on my college program. They truly do make magic and miracles happen.

I know you said you didn't want this hanging over you for ages, but could we pick up/ pay when we next come to the States. I am coming in September, is that a bit too late or too difficult??

Otherwise i am MORE than happy to pay extra for postage and pay pal.

But can we use paypal now?

No paypal - just cheques. You can go into the bank and request a cheque in $$$ . At the moment that is the only option.

Anyone have a photo of themselves in the shirt? I would love to see what it looks like.

The smallest they come is an adult small right?

You could both get together and one of you buy the t-shirts and share any costs to get a $$$ cheque.
This is the suggestion that was put to me which I thought would work well :)

After Pete's guilt trip I really want to show support for this cause :cloud9:

I ordered 2 smalls for my 9-year old twins. The small works fine for kids - just wash and dry in hot water :) The shirts are really nice.

Give Kids the World is amazing! :cheer2:
