There were so many names that ran through my mind just watching the game tracker for Sunday night's game - Sacktacular, Sackalicious, Sackarama, Sack-in-the-box (no, wait, that's from Night At The Museum 2), and then I realized that Jay Cutler spent so much time on his back that he probably couldn't tell if the stars were in the sky or his head.
Who would have thought a year or two ago that the Patriots defense would be left on the waiver wire on any given week? Well they were in the MKC (and on the bench in the ECC - we'll come back to that) ... and they outscored EVERYONE in Fantasy Football with 33 points this week, 3 ahead of the 2nd place Arian Foster!
And who's 3rd and 4th? Terrell Owens (28) and LaDanian Tomlinson (27). It's 2007, except the Red Sox are polishing their golf clubs...
Sadly, in another league I had the Pats, and dropped them for the Falcons. They did respectable, but still 21 points less in that scoring system. That loud THWACK you probably heard around 11pm ET was my head.
Anywho, the MKC still seems to have troubles breaking the 100 point barrier, with only one team managing it this week - the formerly bottom-dwelling ESPN Club, managing 101 behind the strong TE showing of Antonio Gates to get their first win. This happened to be against Dis Uk, who is this week's Low Points with a paltry 30, thanks to 3 zeros and a Vick. And even the bench couldn't beat the 30. A perfect roster would have only reached 48 and still would be lowest.
Meanwhile the No Clue Crew continues to stay atop the leader board.
Over in the ECC, High Points went to unbeaten T-I-double-guh-err with a 126-66 win over Boardwalk Buskers, thanks to Arian Foster. The Fins are still keeping pace, winning 102-70 over Brother Bears.
Low points went to Plutes Cowboys, having fallen with Jay Cutler to manage only 35 points (against Disney Chiefs' 53), with 40 points on the bench.
But I just have to give a Benchwarmer award to Mr. Toad Rides Again, despite their win, for having the Patriots on the bench for what is likely a historical performance...
