Dis Pudding Club

Oh wow Louise. 2 of my favourite things - white chocolate and donuts :worship:

I told you cake works for everything :goodvibes

And they really haven't gone to plan! But the kitchen does smell lovely!

When I put them in the oven, they were the size of that lumpy bit in the middle - now look at them :scared1: I'm not gonna tell you what that "lump" is just yet...

If these work out OK Beth they may reassign you to the Main Street Bakery when you get there :lmao:

Haha!! I hope not - would just want to eat everything!

So here are those cookies... ta dah!

They are my cookie-in-a-cookie! That lumpy surprise in the middle was an oreo!!

They were definitely a hit :goodvibes

Oh wow - what a brilliant idea. :worship:

Do you just wrap the cookie dough around the oreo? I know a young lad who would love those :goodvibes

I meant to post the recipe on facebook earlier, but i jotted it down on a scrap of paper and that went in the bin. No worries though, I just retrieved it - a bit doughy, but still readable :)

The original recipe I had was american, and all quantities were written in "cups", so I tried to convert it. This is what I did...

Ingredients:
115g butter
75g light brown sugar
110g granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 tbsp vanilla essence
195g flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
chocolate chips
Oreos

1. Preheat oven to 160
2. Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined
3. Beat in egg and vanilla
4. In a separate bowl mox flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with the chips until just combined. Place a scoop of dough on either side of an oreo and shape with hands
5. Bake for 9-13 mins

I had to adjust a couple of things. I found that I had to bake them for a little longer. And also, my cookies sort of flattened and spread out around the oreo in the middle so i'm not sure if my dough should have been "thicker"... Does that mean more flour?!

No matter how you make them though, I promise they will change your life :)

Wow Beth! Guess what I am having for my tea this weekend! :rolleyes1 Did they take you a long time to prepare?

Really not long at all - thanks to my mum's electric mixer!

Around 35 mins including preparation and cooking :goodvibes

i suppose if I were to mix by hand for 35 minutes though the calories couldn't bit me :rolleyes1

They look so scrummy. Have you eaten any yet?

Other than the Oreos we have everything else in the cupboard. I may have to give this a go myself later.
Do you think it would work as well with Bourbons. Or maybe pink wafers :lmao:

Oh yes!! I had to test them when they came out of the oven - just to check they're not poisonous of course ;)

And that's when they're best; just out of the oven and all gooey! I had one for breakfast this morning, and they've hardened up a bit now but they're still lush! They're nice after being bunged in the microwave too :)

But now I have to stop - I could eat the whole lot otherwise! So I've given the rest away to my housemates :goodvibes

That should be the mission of the pudding club - to try and make cookies with every possible biscuit in side them!
I vote kitkats! :rotfl:

Here's my contribution .....coffee cream cupcakes, all decorated with varying amounts of coffee cream as not everyone in our house likes icing in huge amounts, the one with lots piped is mine! Ha

Oh those look incredible. Idon't usually like donuts but would make an exception for one of those :worship: How long did it take to make them?

they took about 2 hours to make, add milk to yeast, leave for 5 mins, mix with flour mix, prove for 40 mins, knock back for 5 mins, leave to reprove and then roll out and fry. not the healthiest lol

Do you think if you posted them first class i could have one for tea?

of course lol, ill send it by ups!!

Oh :worship: :worship::worship:

Can I ask you guys if you think we should just leave this thread running as the home of the Dis Pudding Club (changing the current title obviously) or shall we start a new thread each week?

loving this thread. will have to take some pics. we had mickey waffles the other night made with pancake mix as i did pancakes first as there was no plug on waffle maker as hubby had borrowed it but he then came home and put it back on. they kinda worked

Personally, I think it would be a good idea just to leave this thread running.
And perhaps we could add an index of any recipes that have been included in the thread onto the first post? That way, as the thread grows, people can still find the recipes.

Just a thought :thumbsup2
