DVC Chit Chat Thread

I’m confused? I thought you said you noticed on your dashboard the new room was confirmed but didn’t get an email.

Stalking iwill only show what is available and wouldn’t be related to your waitlist.
Yes, my point was, I was on the DVC site a ton and never saw the “we can’t wait to welcome you home” until 6 days prior.

But, we had a great time! So there is that👍

If it didn’t show on your dashboard until 6 days prior then it must have filled pretty close to that date!

Glad you had a great time

We’re currently booked in a 2br at BWV for January 2027 for our group of 6. My kids are begging me to stay in a cabin in FW instead. We’ve never stayed there but we’ve visited several times and they love it. It would be a lot less points, but we’d be more squished then in the 2 br. I would prefer BWV, but my kids don’t usually make any special requests on our trips so I’d feel bad not giving in and making them happy. My DH doesn’t care either way lol. Of course this is assuming I’ll be able to get two weeks in a cabin at 7 months. Maybe I won’t and the whole thing will be moot. Or maybe I’ll just tell them I can’t? Lol.
I just stayed in a cabin with my husband and parents. One bathroom for 4 people was bad, can't imagine with 6. I agree with others who have commented, if you really want to try it, split stay a few days or get 2 cabins.

I agree about the bathroom situation! I took my parents, daughter and brother (and dog!) to the cabins in December and the worst part was one bathroom. Everything else was wonderful, especially the full kitchen.

Does anyone else have a button situation happening at your house? My daughter has corralled the buttons on a cloth, but between resort buttons and celebration buttons (and my figment pins on my own lanyard habit), the wall space has gotten a bit…full.

Anyone play (what I call) the DVC for Less Game? https://www.dvcforless.com/
I give myself a budget like $10K, $15K, etc and challenge myself to find the best contract for my interests.
My personal rules are that it has to make sense with my use year and that sellers will only go down in price 10% max. But sometimes I play the game and pretend I have a different use year or would be a new DVC member.

We can't discuss available contracts, but if you also play the DVC for Less Game, let me know what your rules are!

I do not. I want to though.

I have 1 spot booked so far hoping 2 more open up. We watched the behind the scenes shows about Animal Kingdom so my son is so looking forward to it too.
Loved both!! Rhinos are definitely hard to get!
Are you using any apps to notify you if something opens up?

Also I would suggest cabins first. Then you can do that laundry at BWV when you get there and the 2 bed will feel like a mansion when you walk-in. Im excited for you! The cabins are so cool and BWV is also my fave place. Sounds like a great trip.
Definitely, do Cabins First!!!

They’re older, 10, 15,18 and 21.
OMG, I couldn’t imagine sharing that with 5 others, even if they are all family. lol
18 & 21 using bunk beds isn’t terrible, but 10 & 15 y/o sharing a Murphy bed sounds like torture.

2 cabins would definitely make things better, but they may not be next to each other.
Split stay, but I’d only do 3-4 nights in the cabins, then move to the 2bdrm as I assume you’ll be more than ready. lol

Love this!!!

I have about 5-6 saved searches at all times, my “game” I guess is the perfect scenario for when/if I can ever talk my friends into buying DVC, they wouldn’t need the same UY, so I just select similar to mine since their travel window is the same as mine (June - Sept) also small contracts but not too small (45-100) and since they are new and they would most likely never be able to plan further than 7 months… SAP, and SAP+ and BWV because I’d like them to be able to stay where I know I’ll be most of the time. ;)

I also have DLR saves for myself and a separate one for my friends.

My saves are:
  • Wishlist (for me) CCV, AKV & BWV
  • WDW (friends) SSR, BLT, CCV & BWV
  • DLR (for me)
  • DLR (friends)
  • Aulani (Sub)

I seriously use that site more than Reddit, & FB combined.!!
