Originally signed up here under another name in 1999.

Why can't my internet and phone stay connected? I miss out on alot lately.

Same thing happened to me. Wasn't there a major server crash "back in the day" and almost everyone had to start over? When did the Dis hit the net? I bought my 1st DVC in 1998 and I swear the Dis helped me to make my decision to buy. But maybe I'm wrong, my memory isn't quite what it used to be.

Dan - we were at 50's in November and Aunt Clair had a picture of you in her "family album". She said it was the 1st time anyone recognized someone else in her book. As famous or (infamous ) as you are that surprises me. Can you believe little Lindsey is headed off to U of I this fall (as a James Scholar ). I still have the key chain you gave (all) of us at one of the Chicago meets.

Six (or more) years on the Dis, a mountain of information gained, at least 27 trips, a gazillion great dinners (a few less than great that I have blocked from my memory) and probably millions of dollars later and the Dis still the great OZ

Just happen to be lurking today and saw this thread. Well, I guess I am an old timer also. I just don't have the time like I used to to be able to read and post, but I love coming back and checking on everyone.

I mostly lurk now. I joined the DIS a long time ago when this board looked MUCH different. Lots of times I see a thread that I may want to comment on, but I don't because some have so many re[lies to it that my 2 cents would just get lost. I don't work in an elementary school anymore either. I get home much later and I am exhausted and still have dinner etc. to do. But I do read this board at lunch and when I can at home.

I don't get over to the Community boards very often, but happened to see this thread today in a search. I'm definitely an old-timer. I've been here almost from the very beginning, when my original posts were always questions. It's nice now to help with answers too. I remember back when it was the D.I.S. instead of DIS. I too lost my date in the big crash. My most fond DIS memory is the DIS meet at the Boardwalk and the Illuminations Cruise in 2000 that GEM organized (all in the same day). Hi everyone

DD & her Dh put in a bid on a new house and it was accepted today.. Gotta get their place ready to go on the market and start packing up my stuff.. DD works crazy hours, so I'm going to have to do a lot of what needs to be done here..

Just call me "Gypsy" from now on...
