Dis Old Fogies Clubhouse – Six of One, Half Dozen of the Other. Makes No Difference!

Good morning, Fogies.

It's Tuesday morning and a public holiday here. Australia Day....or Invasion Day....depending on your calling.
I'm heading out today to for a building open day (I plan to go early to avoid the crowds) and then the fireworks later today. It could rain, and there is wind forecast; so they could be cancelled. We'll see.

Have a good day all.

We went out to the park last night and had Chicken Dinner at the Plaza Inn, we rode Indiana Jones and then watched Paint the Night and the Fireworks. One of our friends who came along was in really bad shape. Last year he almost died, and made some changes, but his other half was telling us before he arrived that he has gone back to not taking care of himself. He got there late and parked in the structure and walked. His foot was awful and he has gout but won't go back to the doctor.

As a result, Fran gave him her scooter and she walked back to the Grand and we gave him and his lady a ride back to their car. Now she's asleep because she wiped herself out with all that walking!

She's got such a good heart; but she really needs to take care of herself as well..

:wave2:

How have you been? I've seen you have been super busy taking pictures but we miss you around here!

:wave2: I keep forgetting to check in around here since it hasn't been showing up on my watched threads. Hopefully with Angela back from her vacation she'll post more here and we'll all come in more often.

I've been busy moving stuff out of the old house, planning our March trip and my December TR. You know it's scary planning a non Disney trip! I know more about my April/May trip to Disney than I do for thus trip starting March 20. I'm going to make my dining reservations within the next day or so. I finally got Fran to sit down with me and sign off on the restaurants for the after cruise part. We still don't know how we are getting to and from the various airports!

Oh no. Road trip is very different because we have a car and can go places whenever we want. This trip we are totally at the mercy of cabs and things. Cabs will cost us maybe $100 but to have a car would be about $500. So not worth it!

I guess the cab is much cheaper than the car. When we cruise the coast we get a car, but at least we know how to get around. Never been to Alaska.

Alaska is not for a while but even then we are in Vancouver, we aren't even thinking about that one yet! I'm just trying to figure out NOLA, but I think I what we need.

Hello Fogies. Hope everyone is well.

I've been missing the Dis; but sadly 3D life is getting in the way.

I've finally settled down back at work. My next delivery date is mid March or early April and I cracked it at a few people yesterday for not hurrying things along. I still haven't got enough information and documents to kick start the activities and time is ticking down. So I circumvented process yesterday and just gave everyone the heads-up for the work that was coming along. I might get into trouble for not following process...but I figure that I'll get away with it as time is really short.

DS has headed back to school; so that probably means that I get to reclaim some sort of normal routine on Monday's and Thursdays. I hope to check in here a bit more often than I have been over the summer!

Sadly, DH isn't well this week. He's had a super sore throat and feeling achy. A visit to the Doctor resulted in a diagnosis of tonsilitis. True to form, he's ignoring the antibiotics right now and relying on herbs. Oh well.

I've also been heading out and about a lot more as I've signed up to do a photo a day. One month in....and I've realised that this is going to be a bit of a challenge. We'll see how long it lasts.

Hope to catch you all on-line at some stage.

Wow! Sounds like you're really busy! I hate when you have to depend on others to get started on stuff and they aren't pulling their weight! Sorry to hear about your DH and especially that he is ignoring his meds. That's not good.

Fran has been sleeping more than ever and I am taking advantage of that by trying to wrap up my trip report. I'm now three full days ahead of what I've posted and if I can get that all written, then I'll go full on with the house moving stuff. Right now, I've been mostly doing it with Darcy so that I have some help on the heavy lifting. We've moved at least 50 boxes to storage if not more!

Fran and I were supposed to go out and do errands, but instead she is sleeping. So I'm uploading and writing while I have laundry going and dinner cooking.

Nice to briefly catch you, Alison. Sounds like you're busy as well. What with 2D reports and house moving, it must be pretty hectic. Say hello to Fran for me when she wakes up.

And yes. No rest for the wicked here. In fact, I have to run out now. It's Chinese New Year on Monday and my mum is doing lunch on Sunday. I have to get my gifts organised today and am heading out shopping. I'm also in charge of desserts (again) for Sunday lunch. So, I better go-see what I want to do.

I'll be back a little later. Hope to catch you again!

Well now I'm going to be hitting the grocery store alone so just the bare necessities for dinner tonight. Chinese new year this weekend? All we're hearing about is the bloody superbowl!

I better have a snack before I go or I'll buy out the whole store!

The only superbowl I'm hearing about is the bowl I got my mother for Christmas!

Ugh, there balloons all over the store with the names of the teams, they had cookies which I assume we decorated in team colors because blue and orange are not normal cookie sugar topping colors.

That's Melbourne in September.
You can't go anywhere without stumbling over Australian Rules football.

Another late night at work so I'm just flying by to say hello to the fogies.

We had a wonderful time on our trip. My old bones loved the warm weather.
