WOW they all look so awesome! Even if I don't win (and doubt I will LOL), I am so darn proud of myself - I am not an artistic person and never done anything like this before. My daughter is still sitting with her mouth open astonished. My best friend asked me where i stole the photo from on the net and I had to take a photo of my DD with the pumpkin to prove it was ours. LOL!!!!
I am really impressed with some of the carving skills you very artistic people have!

Okay me and my friends found a really cool design. My friend Emily (no not milkabum) is a wicked amazing artist and helped make the design larger. Tapped it to a pumpking and used one of those tacks to hold up posters to poke little holes through each line. Then we used a thin knife to cut it out.

How I carved my pumpkin:

1.) I have loved the Mickey and Minnie sunset picture for a long time now, so I decided to make it into a pumpkin pattern.
2.) I sketched the picture out with details on how I was going to shade it.
3.) Looked ALL OVER for a decent pumpkin. I first went to a pumpkin patch (got one, but it rotted too fast), then Wal-mart (where I got the one I used), and then I found better, bigger, pumpkins at the local grocery store but didn't have time to try the pattern again on another pumpkin.
4.) Cleaned out pumpkin.
5.) Used my sketch to punch holes for the outline.
6.) Started scraping with the only good scraping tool I had, a knife made for clay.
7.) Carved out the moon.
8.) Took about 20 pictures of the pumpkin, LOL.
