Well I made my first attempt and I say first as there will no doubt be many more. It was terrible, but in my defence I have never carved a pumpkin in my 27 years on this planet. I was quite surprised at how difficult it was, gosh I'm glad I don't do it every year.

also last year my mom bought a pumpkin that was made of non-pumpkin material (like soft stuff) but is still carvable, can i use that? i know it isn't a real pumpkin, but it still looks like one.. thanks!

Since it has been a requirement from the beginning, it must be real and it must be carved per the rules.

Yes, you may have help. I thought the rules covered this but I'll check them again.

I have reasons for not allowing this so no, it must be carved or scraped per the rules. Paint alone will not be accepted.
