I was surprised to receive a postcard today promoting the pin gathering in September.
Is this the norm?
Register before August 8 and receive a free LE DA pin. I received this today -- August 10.

THAT is NO surprise to me...
I receive DLR postcards AFTER events have been over
and done with... I check the postmark, and it will be
from within a few days... strange how this happens!

If they say no cancel your registration and re-register!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is like the seasonal pass holder thing, they gave them three extra weeks in August and the annual passholders got the shaft!!!!
Until I called and complained and got an extra month added to my AP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Why go to Orlando when WDW is in Lake Buena Vista?
A trip that either way takes under half an hour for us.

I already told Jim Greene weeks ago I was not going to pay for a two day event when I could only attend one day.
They should have made this a tiered choice event. But that's okay. I just save $.

They are hurting for a reason. Their pin events are not usually up to par. It's bound to hit home sometime.

Another reason they are hurting is the pins are just plain UGLY this time.
There are some that would be cute if they didn't have all the junk on them "Family Pin Gathering". Who really cares! And those words will spoil the tradeability of the pins.
The only reason I am going to the event is to see some of the friends I haven't seen in a year or more. Peggie

Me also Peggie. I had 5 items on my RSP. Not buying any traders as they don't trade well and I don;t need to have any more $$ tied up in pins. Looking forward to seeing everyone and the Arizona Jeff/Mean Laureen Adventure!!!

I have not even received a post card, so who knows how this mailing was orchestrated. However, I do not think that it was based on a decline in registrations.

I compared ticket numbers with a couple of DIS pals and from what we can tell they have sold over 850 tickets.

Those postcards were probably handled by a mailing house and sent 3rd class -- that would mean deliver <i>"whenever"</i> to the USPS.

And yes, the pins basically do not fit what I collect. I don't like any writing on my pins at all -- unless it's a holiday comemorative. But some of the pin sets and sculptures are very nice, and I'm happy to have those on my RSP.

Finally, I am going for the fun and friendship (and trading) above all else. I can't wait to see all my pinpals! And that includes all the <i>Sad Sacks</i> that posted above me.
