Dis Mom's Club?

Suellen, Jack, my son who started school today, will be 9 in a few weeks, and he's been wanting to drive for at least 4 years! He loves getting in my lap when I pull in the driveway and "steering" into the garage! Oh, and he's got a shoe fetish! Don't know where he got that from...hmmm! How fun it'll be to see your DD experience her first day! I hope it's a tear-less success! :teacher:

Here you go!

You can tag this into your siggy just remove *'s and it should work.

So exciting about your son starting school "alone" and with no tears!

I anticipate a similar experience next week. My dd has been counting down to Kindy since she was two.

Your son sounds a lot like my DD5! She has 5 new pairs of shoes for school! Plus if she could go to bed tonight and wake up able to drive.... she would trade away her childhood in a blink. :( Makes me sad she wants to be big!

She has been like that pretty much since birth though.... it was good then! Sleeping 8-9 hours day one home from the hospital....that was older behaviour and good. Walking before she turned one. Talking at 5 months... all good at the time... NOW I wish I could press a slow down button!!

Howdy Dismoms! Hey, I love the siggy thingy! Thanks Suellen.

Today while DS10 was getting his haircut, the stylist asked him what he likes to do for fun and he promptly said....."We go to Disney for fun." then proceeded to tell her every detail about our last trip! Ending with.....
"I'm gonna be an Imagineer when I grow up. They have the best job in the world. They create rides and attractions, movies, characters, stories... everything Disney. It'll be so cool!"

I just sat in my chair with a grin. I'd love my son to be an Disney Imagineer!!

LOL! Funny!

I am sometimes embarrassed when my DD talks about going to Disney and proceeds to say we have been XX times. and XX times this year!!

I probably shouldn't but.... I just can't help it! I know how fortunate we are and how not so fortunate others are.

I would love, love, love for one of my girls to work for Disney some day!

Good Morning Ladies!

We are trying to decide what to do for the holiday weekend. We found out on Wed. that DH has Friday off along with Monday, so first thing that popped into my head was DISNEY!:rotfl: So for the past couple of days we've been tossing the idea around, but are still really conflicted. Should we stay home or should we go?!? It is about a 13 hour drive there and back and that is really the only issue we have... And really the drive there isn't so much a problem, its the drive home! UGH its just soooo long! LOL We can afford it, so that's not an issue. Most of the time I'm all for going, but then I think about just relaxing at home. SO, what would you ladies do?:goodvibes

I would do it! :thumbsup2 Actually, we will be going up there for 2 nights this weekend to celebrate my DS's birthday. It's nice to relax but I can't ever pass up Disney. :cutie:

We planned a last minute 4th of July trip that involved a 24 hour drive each way. :) So you know my opinion! GO!

Right now is a "We're gonna GO" moment, so I'll be calling DVC once they open and see if there is anything available for this weekend! :cool1:

Ok, so there is NO availability for ANY rooms at DVC!!! :scared1: But we can get a room at the All Stars (AP discount) for $68, CBR for $116 reg. room or Pirate room for $138 or we can get a room at the Dolphin for $112 through Expedia... I'm leaning toward CBR since we are used to DVC and was counting on the fridge for milk and stuff for breakfast. And DH has really wanted to stay at a "beachy" resort. Now I just have to find out what DH thinks. :rolleyes1

I think that is SO neat! I bet he'll be an Imagineer some day! I am almost 45, and I want to retire and work at Disney myself! LOL

What are you waiting for! You'll sleep when you're dead! I say pack now and get up and drive! You'll be SO glad you did!

Oh no...no rooms! :sad2: But those are some great rates on other resorts. :) Since you're used to DVC, I would pick CBR too.

just found this thread!

I'm Jenn mom of a 4 yr old who was 10 1/2 weeks early!

I'm a Disney addict and so is my hubby and parents! DD is getting there!

DD starts preschool on the 7th and goes the 7th and 9th then we go to Disney until the 25th! Her teacher laughed when we said she will be there for 2 classes then gone for 2 weeks.

This will be years 3 for us with free dining! We're hoping to do bounceback! We have stayed at POP all three years. When I was pregnant in 2006 we stayed at AS Sports.

Jenn, my DD4 was 12 weeks early, so I can relate! Now she's an extremely active 4yo who is at this moment bouncing off the walls of her room...and she told me in no uncertain terms that 61 days left until our November trip is just way too many days for her to have to wait! Have a fabulous trip!

Keep calling! You can usually get it the day of or the day before. They will release "hotel" rooms to DVC!

We literally called the morning we were going to check in and got something. And we drove from Maine! It would have sucked to get there and have nothing... but we had faith!

Hey fellow NJian! We will be at the world in 61 days too! Where are you guys staying? We'll be at Saratoga Springs. I grew up in Rumson. Just over the bridge from Locust.

We had a great time in Kentucky. We spent sometime in Louisville and Bowling Green. We have a goal to show the kids as much as possible before they grow up and leave home so Kentucky seemed like a good place to start. Far enough from home but close enough that we can drive it. In fact, it was the same distance to go to Louisville as northern WI and we live in WI. We want to go back to Kentucky when the kids get older as we found other fun things to do in the teen years.

We live an hour from Bowling Green and my husband is from Louisville. We do day trips sometimes to the different places. Tourism $ is down like the rest of the nation so there is starting to be more of a push for tourism. I understand about traveling outside of the state being quicker than staying within the state. We find we go to other states more than staying in our own for day trips.

Just found this for Moms through a Dis Moms Signature. I'll introduce myself:thumbsup2

My name is Tanika Im 28 and I'm soooo into Disney. I wish I could be a DVCer but my friend is one so I'll sneak in her luggage to Disney when I can:lmao: My hubby enjoys Disney but only on some occasions(I'm going to change that I promise :rotfl: ) I have 3 Disney children: Ariana is 8 and has a personality to become a princess in her own right :cutie: Cameron is 5 and tags around his sister and loves learning things from her and then theres Christian who is in his horrible 2's but is a sweetie pie at times.

We just got back from a trip to Disney and we loved every minute of it!! Me and DH are planning a early 3 year anniversary trip to Disney (we want to take advantage of Free dining :cheer2: )

Hope to meet you all!!
