Could it be both Fifths and Hand Foot and Mouth?
UGH! So sorry. Stinks too because there is nothing you can do but wait it out if it is Coxsackie Syndrome. Hope it passes quickly. Any blisters in his mouth?
So DH plays this online game, Warhammer, published by Electronic Arts / Mythic Entertainment. It costs a monthly subscription fee of $14.99, which is drafted automatically from our checking account via our debit/credit card. I don't mind this, as I'm a gamer myself but haven't felt like playing lately.
Well, last Friday, we found out along with a couple of hundred thousand other folks that Mythic's billing system vendor overcharged our account for this subscription fee - instead of charging $14.99 (which shouldn't have been charged anyway, as our subscription for the month hadn't yet run out) for our monthly fee, they charged us SIXTEEN times at $14.99 each. To make things worse, 14 of these 16 charges came in the day before my next paycheck, so you guessed it - I had 14 $32.00 "paid item fees" charges assessed, as well.
To make a long story short, Mythic's little error sucked some $700 out of my bank account over the course of two days. This past weekend was my stepson's 16th birthday. Luckily, we already has the majority of his gifts, but I still had to pay for the pizza, snacks, a movie he wanted for he and his friends, etc. I had to call my power company and tell them that their payment would be delayed. If this isn't all resolved by tomorrow, I'll have to call my mortgage lender and my car loan folks and tell them their payments will be late. My bank hasn't yet said whether they'll actually reverse the fees. Mythic hasn't said whether they'll reimburse players for the fees.
Everyone is screaming at EA and Mythic, but both companies are stonewalling and posting vague reassurances that they're taking the matter "very seriously". The lawyers are already circling; people are taking massive financial hits over this goof. Credit ratings are being affected due to missed or bounced payments. I was a mess on Friday, swinging between fury and being scared I'd find myself unable to pay the mortgage and car loan. UGH, it's a huge hairy mess.
Lesson learned: buy pre-paid game time cards and never, ever use a debit card for monthly online subscriptions. Too bad it was such a painful lesson to learn.![]()
My DS has peanut and egg allergies, and because they are such common allergies, labels are usually marked really well and there is much more awareness. It would be so much harder to have kiddos with uncommon allergies, like berries! I would think that parents who have kids with allergies would be much more supportive, but I guess the world does not always work that wayI still don't get why other people think it is okay to tell you how to parent your own kids. You do your thing ~ I'll do my thing you do yours. If we all parented the same ~ the world would be perfect right?!?
Crazy what people around here find to argue about.
Apparently some people think that their fatal allergy to peanuts is a bigger deal than my DD's fatal allergy to berries? I mean ~ what is up with that? IMHO they are BOTH a pretty big deal. It's crazy. DH always says he doesn't want me reading Dis anymore because it gets me so riled up!
and if any more Duggar threads pop up.....stay very, very far away...You think the peanut allergy thread is bad....... go over to the community boards and read the one about Jon & Kate.![]()
I am an avid Dancing with the Stars fan and over the weekend got sucked into a debate about the two of them, yikes!!!
I am impressed!LOL! I have one napping and one watching SpongeBob (yuck! I never let her watch it so she is intrigued) I have laundry in washer, meat for dinner thawing, filing out my FAFSA so I can take some classes in the fall, resting my back (I think I have a pinched nerve) and waiting for my DH to come home so I can go to the doctors to have it looked at.
All while keeping tabs on my email and Disboards!!
Pretty amazing huh?? LOL!
Tomorrow on the travel channel......

they are all re-runs....and I have seen them countless times, but always still fun! I can get my disney fix, since it will be a while before we get to go back!!!
Good Afternoon Ladies!
I just saw this on the budget boards and thought I'd pass it along. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx It looks like Disney has started to offer the $99 deal if you pre-purchase your photopass CD! Also, if you were one of the lucky ones that got the $50 off offer in an email, it let someone use it with the $99 deal, making it only $49.99!
Wow -- if I could get that for $49.99 I'd be all over it!!
Wonder how you get the email...
We'll probably still do it at $99, but I'd sure like to save even more! Thanks for posting.
So, I'm watching the Travel Channel's Disney specials!I can't wait to go!
Update on the whole overbilling / bank fee thing that happened because of our online game subscription: we're still awaiting a refund of all of our bank fees but we did finally get a refund from the game company. Our mortgage payment will likely bounce tomorrow if our bank can't get this mess sorted out, our mortgage lender could care less that none of this is our fault (they rightly just want their payment) so we'll probably have late fees, and the credit score is probably still going to take a hit. On a scale of 1 to 10, my stress level is at least a 12. I really, REALLY need my WDW vacation. Now.![]()
