Dis Mom's Club?

I'll join the Mom's Club!!

I'm Steph (obviously) and my DH is Jim. We have 3 kids and one on the way.

Aaron (13) is my difficult child. He is excited to go on vacation and ride the thrill rides. He is the reason that I think a trip in the summer would be better than December. He is not particularly good with his little sisters, and has slight autism, so I want to make sure things go easy for him so we can all enjoy our vacation. He is getting much better as he gets older, but he's given me a run for my money...that's for sure! LOL!!

Casey (12) is my sweet girl. She is a competitive gymnast (Level 8) and is probably the most driven child you've ever met. I have to be careful to plan around her gym season because she's only 2 levels away from Elite (Olympic level) and she trains 6 days a week. A week off is a big deal for her, and I think she really needs it once in awhile!

Allison (4) is Daddy's girl. She is the most excited about this trip and cannot wait to meet Mickey and all the Princesses!!! She is looking at pictures and commenting on everything!

Bailey (due 7/22/2010) will be around a year old for the trip, so we'll see what she's like!

I'm a real estate agent (UGH....BAD market right now...) and DH is a contractor. Obviously the economy has not been kind to us lately so we are on a pretty strict budget. I'll appreciate all the Disney money saving tips I can get!!!

Good morning!
The twins did wonderful for the wedding yesterday. As with most kids, I never know if mine will cooperate when the time comes or not, but thankfully, all went well!
Haven't edited yet but here they are....

This is why you don't try to teach your 3 yr. old how to blow bubbles... then let him keep the gum for the ceremony! :scared1:

OMG, they're adorable! I love the look on his face in the first photo. He looks like he's getting ready to blow someone a kiss.

I don't want to just go MIA ~ so I wanted to let you all know that I am done posting here at Disboards.

I hope you all have magical journeys and I hope that you continue the DisMom's thread. :)

Love the pictures tink! My boys where in my brothers wedding at 19months - they didn't do so well, the ring pillows ended up flying through the air half way down the aisle. Your twins are adorable!

I'm sorry to see you go! I hope its not over the thread about using other family members APs. :confused3 They were just down right mean to you over there.

I wish you a great trip and hope you might reconsider staying on the DisMoms thread.

I can see how it could be over that other thread...I quit coming to the DISboards for about a month because it seemed like every thread I posted in degenerated into overly aggressive behavior and name-calling.

I had another DISer post something completely insulting in a thread I'd started, then report me for using random symbols (#@(^(&@!) to simulate a cuss word (in other words, I literally typed a random number of random symbols) in my reply. It made me SO mad that I up and quit.

Fortunately, a combo of things brought me back to the boards: DH told me I was being pig-headed as usual, I got a bunch of nice "please don't go" PMs and emails from people who'd posted in my practical tips list thread, and I felt bad about ditching the boards after posting that list since a lot of people posted asking if I was ever going to send them out again or update them here on the boards.

I understand that tempers flare and people tend to get passionate over the Mouse, but I don't see why discussions have to turn into flamewars. We're supposed to be here to share a love of WDW. More pixie dust, less dynamite needed, IMO.

Suellen, hope you have a wonderful trip! Some people can be just mean! I hope you do come back and visit!!!!:grouphug:

Just wanted to add that if anyone is on facebook feel free to add me. :) I tend to do my live reports via Facebook and now that I know how to upload my iphone pics ~ it should be good!

suellenh @ gmail.com

Keep the Mom's thread alive and friendly!! I'll probably lurk from time to time. :)

First of all I lurk, a lot....I hardly ever post....

Suellen I hate to see you go!!!!!!

To introduce myself...

I am Kim, I am a Disney nut to say the least but it wasn't always like that. My first trip to DW was when I was 13 and with my then 2 year old brother who was a total brat and since he was terrified of everything so I didn't get to do anything at all! I swore then I would never be back.....

Fast forward to 2008 I got a pin and decided to take DD (4 at the time) just the two of us! We had the time of our lives!!! When we got on Dumbo she looked at me and said "this place is magic" and I have been sold ever since!

Then married DH...he has never been anywhere...(sorry honey)...we went in 2009 and now he is as bad as we are!!! He was easily converted!

Most recent trip was in February and we took my FIL....he is still talking about the trip. We are going back in June where I will try to sweetly convince my DH to do DVC...it just seems logical at this point....;)

Now on to more personal like things....I work for CPS (please don't throw things...) DH works on nuclear reactors....needless to say there is never a dull moment in our house.

DD is the only child and it shows....she loves all things Disney. She actually considers herself quite the expert and is eager to tell everyone about it when given the chance. Her favorite game in the car is "If you were at Disney what would you be doing right now...."

We are very blessed and count ourselves lucky to be able to go to DW as often as we do!

I am looking forward to getting to know more moms!!

This could have been much worse. I see my DS3 handing it to the bride in the middle of the ceremony saying "I'm done with this.":rotfl2:

Sullen, if you are leaving because of the AP thread I am sorry. You seemed to be a scapegoat in that thread. There were others that said mean things and yours was a simple statement. I am not sure why people need to add an attitude to posts when there was not intent of that attitude. Remember that when you "lurk" we will always welcome you.:grouphug:

Oh yeah, that would have been funny!

DD3 was so upset this morning when I told her she couldn't wear her dress to church. :flower3:

E3yore- we're in MN. Have you been having great weather like us? We'll have to mow the lawn this week and last year we had a snow storm on April 23rd!
I'm certainly not complaining!

The weather has been nice but we are to close to Lake Michigan so it is chilly some days. Although I can't really complain we have had a few 70 degree days. I am thankful for no snow. I keep telling DH that we need to move to Florida (mostly because I want to work at WDW but the weather would be a bonus).

Today was a good day. We made it to church on time, and the boys were the only ones in the room not screaming their heads off when we left. If fact it was pretty funny Monkey ran into the room and saw all the kids screaming and said more toys and ran off. Bug wasn't far behind him. Then we picked them up they were the only ones playing again - everyone was melting down but our guys where playing with the toys and running back and forth chasing each other.

We got home and watched the Giants game - they lost but it was still fun to watch it with DH. Then DH mowed the front and back lawns and I chatted with some neighbors. I'm loving the good weather but it won't last we have more storms this week, and DH is leaving for 4 days for a work trip.:sad2:

Sullen- sorry to see you go. Not sure what was going on with the other board but do lurk because I'm sure in the future you'll want to post again. :goodvibes

Tink- Beautiful kids! Too funny about the gum and blowing the bubble. That's a keeper for when he's older for sure.

LadySiren- Thanks for the well wishes. All went well (6 1st places and 2 2nd places) but Lord knows it tires the parents out. ;o) I do know of Cheerzone and cheerleading itself is VERY expensive. I'm hoping your $1,500 quote is the annual fee too. My girls cheer with Cheer Carolina in Hillsborough and there are a few girls from Burlington/Meban area that are at our gym whom have friends at Cheerzone. Next year my purse gets a break though cause I'll only have 1 cheering. :goodvibes

Happy Monday!!!!!
