DIS Men: Do you carry a daily bag?

DHcarries his wallet in front pants pocket along with keys. M-F he takes a small soft cooler to work and calls it a lunch *pail* LOL! For those too young to remember and maybe it is a New England thing from the past, but lard pails with handles and covers were reused by some workers into the late 1950's? We had a stack at the farm which we used when we picked berries. For DH the name stuck.

From the early 80s when I started working I carried a briefcase. That lasted until the mid 90s. Then it was a soft sided bag for my laptop and some paper files, etc. That lasted until I retired at the end of 2022.

For amusement parks and similar outings I had a small canvas drawstring backpack, but usually I just relied on cargo shorts or pants.

For a least a decade now I’ve been seeing articles admonishing men to ditch those cargo shorts. Yeah, right, over my dead body.

Never had enough *stuff* to stuff in a bag. Backpack used when flying/cruising/motel stay

I haven’t carried anything other than my phone for two years.

My phone case holds my drivers license and a credit card. Everything else I would need is an app or in Apple Wallet.

My phone is the key to my car and has the ability to open and close the garage door. The door inside the garage has a lock with a keypad.

I don’t miss carrying a wallet or keys and don’t see what all I would carry around in a bag.

My wife also for the most part is bag less. The only time she brings a bag is when she is driving as her car needs a key fob. Her bag has two key fobs and not much else. If she is riding with me, she brings just her phone.

Sounds like you need a belt not a bag. :dance3:
I have many of those. But between the size of my wallet, my phone (which is also a folio style case that's crammed with cards, rail tickets, business cards, etc) sunglasses, business cards, etc. I just can't do it. A guy can only wear so many cargo pants in a week.

Time to clean out the wallet.

29, live in Michigan, I do not carry a daily bag. I carry a wallet that holds 10 cards, my phone, and keys.

When I go to theme parks or on a long hike I will bring the appropriate bag, but not for going shopping or out to eat.

I have two pairs of sunglasses, one that stays at home and another in my car. If I need them for the day, I can grab the car pair and their case. The shades are prescription, so bringing them means I constantly have to swap if I'm going in and out of places.

I don't smoke or need to carry around medicine with me. The only other thing I might have are my earbuds, which I can fit in the same pocket as my wallet.

Mine and DH's phones cases have spots for our cards/drivers license. DH only carries his phone, cash in a moneyclip, and his car key fob. All that goes in his pocket. I've gotten to where I rarely carrier a purse and if I do it's only a little hipster to carrier my reading glasses and phone.

I’ve tried. My wallet has over a dozen credit cards, 2-3 types of currency, photos of my wife and dogs, and assorted other necessary cards. It’s about as reduced as it can be. This size wallet is the only one that works for me. I cannot carry a regularly sized wallet.

Occasionally my husband carries a satchel or backpack to work, most often nothing…. Maybe his lunch bag.

At Disney, he carries a backpack.

A dozen credit cards? WHY? I feel like I carry too many...
* Work Credit Card
* 2x Debit card for family account
* Debit card for personal account
* 2x Credit cards

I have a couple of membership cards, an FSA (medical debit) card, insurance card. Pictures are on my phone.

WOW! More than 12 credit cards? I have one. At one point in my life I had three but the gasoline card was from a company that went cash only back in 1982, and I dropped the Department Store card I had as I wasn't using it.

Yep, and those are the cards that I carry, I have another 4 or 5 in a safe that I don't use. I have been playing the CC points/miles game for awhile now and use each card for very specific types of purchases. I do have a regular daily card which gets paid off every month but others don't get regularly used. I also regularly take advantage of SUB's so over time you tend to accumulate a lot of cards.

Genuine question. What does he carry in that back pack? I always wonder when I see so many people with one. I have spent hundreds and hundred of days at Disney with only keys and a wallet. Most times my phone stays in the car. Something I’ve often wondered.

When I used to carry a backpack (when the kids were younger), it would generally have:

* Extra clothes for the kids (when they were really young and subject to 'accidents')
* Dollar store ponchos (one for everyone) for when the inevitable afternoon rains showed up
* Camera lens/accessories. Probably DSLR & Video camera
* Portable snacks
* Water bottles
* Souvenirs

Now, I do remember when we went when the kids were teens and I went with no bag, and had extras in pockets in my shorts.

I hate having things in my pocket.

I have a money clip with a credit card, debit card a couple other miscellaneous cards that are basically there to keep up the tension on the money clip, and sometimes some cash. It spends 99.9% of it's time in my car.

My most worn sunglasses have a croakie so if they come off my eyes they are around my neck. Extra sunglasses are always in the car.

I carry my phone everywhere. I use Apple Pay for pretty much everything, groceries, gas, etc. Really the only time I have cash is when I need to buy lottery tickets, in our state you can't put them on a cc.

Sometimes I need cash on the golf course, so, I always have a mixture of bills kept in my golf bag.

When working I was married to my laptop so for years I carried a flat type over the shoulder bag with my work supplies in it. For my last 10 years working I always carried a backpack for my laptop, pads, paperwork, etc.

Since retiring, typically you'll find me with nothing but my phone and car key fob.

At Disney you'll fine me with my phone and maybe a couple hundred in bills folded in my pocket.

Mine gives me 3% cash back. I spend about $600 a month cash and about $2,000 a month goes on the card. Since we retired we don't spend much, and are living on $3,000 a month.

DH doesn't, except when commuting on the train, when he uses a ripstop sling bag to carry lunch and an umbrella. (He has a company desktop at work so he mostly leaves his laptop at home, just moves files back and forth on a thumb drive.)

In theme parks we have a "family" backpack that gets passed around and carried by different people in turn; it contains ponchos, a couple of hats, sunblock, Body Glide, some protein snacks, a couple of power brick batteries, and a large plastic ziploc to stash our phones and batteries if we go on a wet ride. We all carry half-size steel water bottles on belt biners, and sunglasses on croakies. DH loves fishing clothing for his weekend wear, and always wears it to the parks (which is kind of amusing because he doesn't fish; he just really likes the utility of the clothing. I *do* fish, fwiw.) Fishing wear has LOTS of pockets, and odd little utility touches like a velcro strap over the pocket to hold sunglasses in place.

DS26 usually carries a smallish cross-body tablet case back and forth to work. He's also fond of fishing-wear, and tends to put all the pockets to good use the rest of the time. (He does live in coastal Florida, where fishing wear on men is pretty common.)
