I've wondered, when you all go on DIS meets, do you call the DIS'er by their user name or their real name?

Both....sometimes I forget there real name easily but I always remember there DIS name. I remember when I did drink around the world last year at DISCON I couldn't remember Side Show Bobs real name, in fact I can't remember it now!

it depends on the person, and how they introduce themselves, and whether I have met them before, there are some people that I think of by their first name and others that I think of by their DIS name, others both so it depends.

Both. To acknowledge (and remind myself that) I know who they are, both here & IRL!

But, then again, MANY Illinois DISers use their real name or, a portion thereof so, it makes it easy for me, a terrible name-rememberer!!

For the life of me, I can never remember Mr. Murphy's first name!! (good thing he posted here ~ Hi Dan!!)

Both Usually their DIS name until I learn their real name, then I'll change to just the real name most of the time except on the boards where I tend to use the DIS name.

Depends on who it is, I guess. Sometimes the user name, sometimes their real name.
Most DIS folks call me Pandy, I've gotten so used to it I don't always acknowledge the first time I hear someone say "Donna"

Not that I've ever to been to real Dis meet, but I did meet one fellow Dis pal at DL & I called her by her real name, but I guess the fact that we've been friends on the net for a few years makes that a natural thing.

I've been called both my names. As for addressing others, I prefer to call them by their RL names.

For the most part, their real name. There's one person I call by her DIS name in person, but she seems to answer to it as well as (if not better than) she does to her real name.

My DIS name is NOWHERE near my real name. I usually introduce myself by my real name first and then by my DIS name.
