When I figure out their real name, I use that.

The only person who's first name I had trouble remembering when I met her is Cleo. She picked out the perfect username, it fits her to a tee.

I think I would have trouble using Blondie's first name in person, she's always Blondie to me.

Most times though I guess I use both.

I do both, but usually go for the first name when I can (which is most of the time). Funny thing Todd, you are the one I have the hardest time with using your first name. I have no idea why and I obviously know your name, but I must have referred to you as shep to Amanda several times on Saturday I'll do better in December

I think I would probably do both--at least until I got to know someone a bit more or better.
I think I'd call Shep, Shep and Blondie will be Blondie and Snoopy will be Snoopy for a long time for me. However, I think of #1 Disney Fan and hope I'd call her Lynne! (BTW, Lynne, you made me LOL@ your post!--Hunter does call him Dan, Dan the Disney man! )
Some might be harder than others for me. I met Uncle Kyle and I don't think I'd call him that (since he's not my uncle! LOL)
KimRaye will probably be KimRaye when we meet.
Many people call me "Buck" and I would answer to that, I'm sure.

What is it with those people from IL--I never thought about it before but many DO use their real names!

I usually call them both ways....and I answer by both, real and DIS name...

face to face, i tend to use their real names, assuming i can remember them! i know that it takes a few times before anyone catches my real name...but i answer to both scarlett and brandie

what gets confusing for my poor DH is when i'm talking about someone from the boards (all good things, of course!) that we have met and i'll use their real name. he looks at me and is totally clueless...so i've gotten in the habit of saying their real name and then the "you know...so and so from the boards"...he's following me by then...

I never know whether to call PandyPaws Pandy or Donna. I switch back and forth.

Helenabear is Elaine to me. I can't remember her dis name half the time.
Towncrier is Towncrier
Yepod is Yepod.
Dan M is Dan.
Heck even my Husband gets called by his his screen name by me LOL.
