Those of you who have had DIS Meets on Magic.... what worked well as far as a time and a place on the ship to meet?

Thanks!

We have had several DIS meets on the Magic.

First of all, nametags at Port Canaveral are a good start! That way folks can meet while waiting to board.

Twice we have had a "sailaway meet" on deck 10, port side near the Goofy Pool. You can do this just after the lifeboat drill, before she sails away! That has worked great for us also.

For a quieter meet, try the seating area just outside the basketball courts, also on deck 10. There are a number of chaise lounges there, and it's a good place to visit without much noise.

We have also arranged for DIS group brunch at Palo, which was a wonderful time. 16 of us in a private room!

Finally, we had a DIS group winetasting in our stateroom on Thursday afternoon. By then we "knew" each other, and had a great time with 18 or 20 DIS'ers sitting around drinking wine and chatting!

Hope this helps...

The brunch at Palo has work very well on our past cruises. The private room is very nice but it gets warm in there. We had 24 at brunch one time, to large of a crowd for that room but we did get 18 or 20 in it last year.

If you do a group brunch at Palo, do they let you book that ahead of time, or do you do in on embarkation?

Our DIS meet was on the secret deck area on 7aft. There were about 20 of us and a bottle of champagne (thanks to Shirley-perfect gift). We were the only ones out there and it is a great place to mingle.

Hi guys - Ive read that with a group Palos brunch 1 person makes the ressies. This 1 person is responsible for all others whether they show or not.
Was thinking of Palos brunch on Thurs Nov 13th. Should we all make our own ressies?
Also not sure how this may conflict w/ the character breakfast.

I booked our Palo group brunch myself, and they asked for an exact headcount, as well as stateroom numbers. I told them 18, and it ended up being 16, as we had 2 no-shows. They didn't seem to care about that, and we weren't charged for them.
Our waiter brought seperate tags for each stateroom for the charges...

I would suggest asking to have your group seated in the main restaurant area, however. The private room is, in a word, HOT. Unless total privacy is a big issue, you would be much more comfortable in the open area...

ENJOY !!
