Dis meet and greet

Lime green used to be the official color of Dis-ers. Wearing lime green shirts, bracelets, or other items. Even lime green accoutrements on scooters or wheelchairs. All to ID yourself to others “in the know” inside the parks.

I haven’t seen any mention of it in a while, so no idea if it’s still a thing.🤷‍♀️

I went to a couple of official DIS meets years ago and yes, I have met up with a couple of DISers at WDW.

I think this comes up every so often. Would be fun to see some participants in person, but perhaps the novelty wouldn't last very long..................LOL.

Many (most) of my 30-35 WDW/DL trips have been solo. All have included folks from the dis. Also, many local Chicago dis meets in the past as well as a good number in various cities around the country when I was doing some business travel and I would set up dis meets while in those cities. Some are linked in my signature, though a number of the threads have broken picture links from the last dis software 'upgrade'. Over the past 24 years I have met many folks from the dis, a number are lifetime personal friends now.

I was so glad to meet you Dan....a couple of times.
I have been to a Chicago meet too.

The lime green thing was originally paint samples that you could get for Disney colors - they were in the shape of Mickey heads. People would get those then attach them to a backpack, etc. as a little tag. That's actually before my time here, but I heard about it. Those paint samples are no longer available.

I have not done a formal DIS meet but I have met up with people I first met on the DIS but it was after we got to know each on a more one on one basis being part of a creative team. They have watched my kids grow up and some have even met up with my oldest DD without me. I consider them friends and not just people I know on the internet.

I used to wear a lime green Mickey but was never “discovered.” I still look for them when I’m in the parks though.

I have a bunch of the paint samples and take them to WDW to decorate our window (when we stay at value resorts). I also had a lime green mickey head chip that I used as a luggage tag for about a decade; I laminated it and it held up well until American Airlines got hold of my baggage! I always clip a lime green ribbon to my backpack when I go to Disney, but have never "met up" with anyone, although amberpi :( and I were at the Studios a few years on the same day- but getting together didn't work with all the family plans. Too bad... now it'll never happen.

Via a local meet I have become very good friends with some Dis-ers. We're pretty tight, three people moved to Orlando and one is CM, another couple were married at AK and we attended. We group-watch a Disney movie about once a week.

I had the privilege of meeting Dan Murphy about 20 years ago (maybe more?) He was kind enough to meet me at a hotel where there was an event I attended. I treasure that memory, we got along "like a house on fire! (Note: I use that phrase as Dan has a son who is a firefighter)

My husband and I have met with many DISers. There was a Massachusetts meetup at one of the mods houses that we went to. We’ve met many at WDW. They were all great experiences. 💚💚💚💚💚
