DIS Ladies Only Trip 2007 WISH!

You guys are doing so great. Keep up the good work. :cool1:

Well I weighed in this morning, I forgot yesterday. I completely expected a gain this week, I have been really, really bad. But somehow I am down 4 lbs since last week :confused3 I'm happy though :goodvibes So I have lost a total of 9lbs :woohoo: , but only 7 since starting wish. This gave me extra incentive to get back on my exercise program and start eating better.

:cheer2: Congratulations to all who lost again this week :cheer2:

I went to buy some WW muffins, I was told they are very good, but they were out of stock. I will try again this week. I  the lemon cakes, they taste like lemon pound cake, so good! They are the only ones I have tried so far. I did buy the WW popsicles that look like oreo cookie ice cream with cookie crumbs on the oustide but haven't tried them yet, and some WW sorbet bars, haven't tried those yet either. I will let you know how they are once I try them, probably this weekend.

Good luck again this week!!! :wizard:
Grats Kendra and all the losers! I lost 2.5 lbs this week. That's a total of 6.5 lbs so far. I've started to notice that my pants are not quite as tight. :woohoo:

I've tried the WW ice cream. The cookie covered one is good... but I personally didnt like the consistency of it. I liked the chocolate ones.. But my fav's are the Ice Cream sandwiches and the Chcolate covered nut ones.

I tried the Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwich at Costco this past week. They were very good.

On the back it says WW = 2 points. Even Ashli likes to eat them.

I bought some skinny cows too. They got very melted before I got them put away so I kind of had to eat it out of the package with a spoon :rotfl: The one I had yesterday was pretty good. I know my mom has bought some before that were PB ice cream in a chocolate cookie so I am going to look for those. Has anyone noticed that the weight watchers frozen desserts have an alcohol-y taste to them? I had the cookie dough one the other night and I noticed it. :confused3

My favorite frozen treat is Dutch Chocolate Frozen Yogurt. It's tastes like a really good quality ice cream and it is not artificially sweetened so there is none of the funny taste to it. It's 2 pts per serving :thumbsup2

Kat, did you get my mail yet?

I have been seeing a lot of info about Green Tea helping with weight loss. I am drinking a lot of green tea, I wonder if that is helping me? I didn't know anything about it promoting weight loss, just knew it was supposed to be good for you. I don't like the bottled varieties, they always have some sort of other flavor mixed in like lemon or peach or honey. So I make my own just like I would regular tea, and it tastes pretty good considering it is not sweetened. Any one else drinking green tea?

Kelly, I haven't but it can take forever to get things in this town, even from up the street.

I still need to total the pounds for the month. I got kind of sidetracked yesterday.

Congrats to everyone who lost this week. I am trying to get back on track here but Cole's bday didn't help too much with that. :guilty:

I hope everyone has a great day!

I havent tried the green tea tea bags... I have to put equal and 1 tsp coffee-mate in my tea to make it drinkable for me. :rotfl:

Skinny Cow's were my WW staple the last time I did it.

I am failing miserably this week. Cole's birthday, no one here so I can go get lunch, its not working too well. :sad2:

Kat, I just got an email from your office manager. Someone apparently dropped all of the candy in the candy bowl out front into the sewer then dried it in the sun before putting it back out front. I'd stay away from that if I were you! ;)

Hi, ladies!

I have been lurking on this thread and you all are doing awesome! :goodvibes

I have rejoined WW 2 times and I have an extra points slider thingy to help find points on food. If anyone wants it just let me know!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!! I haven't been over here for awhile. With MS and the new thread and stuff it was too busy!! LOL

I hope everyone is still doing well.
I am hanging in there. Aiming for 2 lbs a week so we'll see.

I have a tip to pass on. Listerine pocket strips! They are supposed to be good when you have a craving. :confused3 I saw it on The View. It's worth a shot. :thumbsup2

Really? That's an interesting tip.

Well, I totaled up the loss so far and in the first month we have lost a collective 60 pounds! I was surprised it was so much but I know we owe a good deal of that to our go-getter Kelly!

Mystery donator, got your $10 and am adding that to the main kitty.

I was supposed to work today but found out I did not have to go in. So at least the candy won't be taunting me today!

We have 1300 employees.

Today is a site wide Potluck.

I think I have gained 5 lbs since I got here.

Is Weight Loss Stressing You Out?
Take the Weight Loss Expectations Quiz

-- By Dean Anderson, Fitness & Behavior Expert

There’s no doubt about it: trying to lose weight can be a stressful thing! There’s nothing like trying to stick to a “simple” weight loss plan for bringing you face-to-face with the frustrating complexities of human nature and the limits of our rationality and will power. And even when we do manage to do what we know we should, often our bodies seem to operate according to a different kind of math—where a 3500-calorie deficit doesn’t always equal one pound of weight lost.

The unfortunate part is that this constant stress can make losing weight more difficult than it needs to be. Research shows that chronic stress can affect your metabolism, promoting fat storage, and increasing cravings for sugary, high-fat “comfort foods.”

There are lots of things you can do to manage this stress, ranging from yoga and meditation to a hot bath or a pleasant walk in the park. In this article, however, we’ll focus on how certain (very common) expectations about weight loss can cause stress, and how you can adjust your expectations so that you’re not stressing out about your own weight loss (or lack thereof).

The Weight Loss Expectations Quiz
To find out whether your expectations about weight loss may be increasing your stress levels, take the following brief quiz. Indicate whether you think the following statements are true or false. To benefit from this exercise, your answer should reflect how you honestly feel most of the time, NOT what you think the “correct” response might be.

1~I have taken a careful look at my eating and exercise habits, and I have a good idea of what I need to change and how I want to do it.

2~I have accepted the idea that I need to make permanent changes in my lifestyle to lose weight and keep it off permanently.

3~I will feel successful only if reach my weight loss goal.

4~I know that it took time to gain weight, and I believe it is best to try to lose the weight slowly.

5~I am working on weight loss now because I really want to, not because someone else thinks I should.

6~If I can manage to lose the weight, I think many other problems in my life will be solved.

7~I am willing and able to do a significant amount of physical activity on a daily basis, including planned exercise.

8~I can lose weight successfully with no slip-ups.

9~I am ready, willing, and able to spend enough time each day planning and tracking my food intake and exercise activities.

10~If my weight loss slows down or stalls out, I usually lose my motivation and stop my program.

11~When I am having problems sticking to my plan, I usually get on the message boards or the phone and talk about it with other people.

12~I have many stressful situations in my life right now, but I’m determined to be successful at weight loss.

Scoring the Quiz
Look at your answers to questions 1,2,4,5,7, 9 and 11, and give yourself 1 point for every True answer, and 0 for every False. For questions 3,6,8,10 and 12, give yourself 1 point for every False answer, and 0 for every True. Add your total points up to get your score.

A high score (7-12 points) shows that your expectations about weight loss are more realistic, and you are more likely to reach your goal.

Each question you scored a zero for represents a misconception or unrealistic expectation that might be adding unnecessary stress to your weight loss efforts.

For example, a zero on Question 11 (you don’t talk to others when you have trouble sticking to your plan) may indicate that you tend to keep problems to yourself, which can add even more stress to the difficulties you are already having.

Scoring zero on Question 8 (believing you can lose weight successfully without slipping up) may mean that you are unrealistically expecting perfection. Slip-ups are inevitable, but they also help you learn from your experience. Expecting to be perfect creates more stress when things don’t turn out as desired. Plus, you will learn less about what does and does not work for you in different circumstances.

Likewise, a zero on Question 12 (determination for weight loss despite high stress in other areas of your life) may indicate that you don’t fully appreciate the difficulties of trying to lose weight, or the importance of modifying your weight loss expectations when other aspects of life become difficult. Sometimes, just holding your own and not gaining (or regaining) weight is a very significant accomplishment!

Finally, the most important concept—if you scored a 0 on Question 6 (believing that weight loss will solve many other problems in your life), you may be expecting more than weight loss can deliver, setting yourself up for problems both now and after you reach your goal.

At least two negative things can happen when you start looking at weight loss as the “magic” solution to everything. First, this puts an awful lot of pressure on the daily ups and downs of your weight loss journey. Every slip-up or bad day, every weight plateau, becomes magnified in importance because, in your head, it is linked to so many other important things. You can imagine how much extra stress you generate if going over your calorie budget or skipping an exercise session has come to mean that the career or the relationship you want is that much further away.

Second, the belief that you have to lose weight before you can start living the life you want only keeps you from creating that life right now.

When healthy eating and exercise are just a small part of what you do to care for yourself, you’ll likely decrease stress and progress towards your weight loss goal. A big part of making a successful lifestyle change is putting your weight in meaningful perspective—and you can start doing that right now!

Okay.. I made this dish tonight and it was to die for!!!! Thought I'd share with ya'll.

Creamy Chicken Enchiladas

Serves: 6

By using nonfat sour cream and yogurt, this recipe greatly reduces the amount of fat in the dish.

INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded into bite-sized pieces
4 cups torn fresh spinach leaves
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 (8 oz) carton of nonfat sour cream
1/4 cup plain, nonfat yogurt
2 tablespoons whole grain flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
6 whole wheat tortillas, 6-8 inches in diameter
1 1/2 low fat shredded cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS
1. In a medium sized saucepan, cook fresh spinach with a small amount of water, covered, for 5 minutes on medium-high heat.
2. In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, spinach and green onions. Mix well and set aside.
3. Make the sauce: In a medium sized bowl, combine sour cream, yogurt, flour, cumin and salt. Add milk and jalapeño pepper and mix well.
4. Pour half the sauce into the chicken and spinach mixture and mix well. Divide the filling among the tortillas. Fold opposite ends of a tortilla up about 1 inch over filling then fold the left and right sides over the folded end, overlapping.
5. Place filled tortillas, seam sides down on an (ungreased) rectangular baking dish.
6. Spoon remaining sauce over the tortillas and bake, uncovered, in a 350° F oven for about 20 minutes or until heated through.
7. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and let stand for 5 minutes.
8. Top with salsa and chopped green onions as desired and serve.
