DIS Ladies Only Trip 2007 WISH!

Sounds like everyone had a great first week. Beth, 4 pounds is great! I lost 1 1/2 pounds, so I am pleased with that.

My goal this week is to get to the Y, two times. I will go once tonight while Jess is in gymnastics, and then I need to go one other time!

Hi Shirley!! Good to see you. :wave2:

I'm not Kat, but I know she didn't want anyone who wanted to lose weight to be excluded. The only rule she had was if you were in the top three from last time, you can't win this time. BUT as far as the support you know we are all here for you. And any weight loss at all makes us all winners!! :cool1:

Plus we want you on this trip!!! :)

:wave2: Hi Beth, good to see you too.

I feel after seeing the pictures of us from the last trip that I really need to do something. If I wasn't afraid of scaring the gkids I would hang them up around the house. :lmao:

I have gained back 7.5 lbs total from the last challange. 3 lbs of that was within the last week.

I will be pm you regarding the trip.

Okay, well, I've avoided it long enough. lol

I have already posted my starting weight and pics back on page 3. So that's no secret. I plan to keep posting my weight along the way, it keeps me honest and accountable.

I started at 284, and am now at 280. So, I lost 4 lbs.
Honestly, I was hoping for more, (that's my impatience talking).
But I'm okay with it. It's a start and it's 4 lbs less to carry around. :)

Great start Beth.

Good Morning... it sounds like this group is off to a good start.

I hope you join us Kelli...the little changes you make in your life can only help get you going in the right direction.

I was able to lose 4 lbs this week! YAY! I am very happy with that :goodvibes
I know that a lot of that was water loss and I won't be able to get such great results every week but it helps to get ahead for when I hit the plateau. :thumbsup2

Good for you Beth! You did great despite your worries!

Here's to another week of success!

WOOHOO - You ladies are doing a GREAT JOB!!! :cool1: :cool1:

128? Hmmm, I wish. LOL I think you meant 228. ;)

I haven't seen 128 since senior year in high school. And don't think I ever will again. Heck at this point I'd be happy to say I was under 200!!! :rolleyes2 :)

And just think of the big picture. If all you did was lose even 1 pound a week between now and the trip, by then you'd have lost approx. 32 pounds!! And I don't even think you need to lose that much! We don't want you to blow away. ;)

This is the formula I was talking about. 4 lbs x 32 weeks =128 lbs lost! I don't think you should be 128 lbs total--how would we see you in November if you were that little?!

I am down about 2 lbs--2.4 on my digital scale, actually. :upsidedow

I have to grab Sage from the bus but I remember reading something about this previously and I thought I would pass it on. Especially for those of us who may not be exercising too much at this point, about how many calories to cut based on your activity level. Anyways, its an article so you can go here to read it. I had previously heard 15 X Weight in pounds = calories per day to maintain your current weight level, but I guess that means if you're actually doing something. I sit on my butt in my office all day...I'm not sure that counts.

Anyways, if you're interested:

I will be back shortly.

Back!

O.K. Here is the first mini challenge!

Starting today and running through May 15, for a total of ten weeks.

As most of you have probably figured out in your weight losing attempts before, its a bit easier to lose weight in the beginning - especially when you're giving it all you've got. You're motivated because you're seeing those results, you haven't hit those dang "plateaus" yet. So this challenge will go directly to that, knowing that at this point we're going to be trying to give it our all! :thumbsup2 (In like a lion as was said)

There will be three winners in this mini-competition.

The winners will be those that have lost the highest percentage of weight by May 15. Top prize will be $20 in Disney Dollars, second prize will be $10 in Disney Dollars, and third will be $5 in Disney Dollars. I will also throw a little extra something in there, not sure what yet.

You DO NOT have to weigh in on May 15 to make that your final weight. I will also take weight the week before because I know for some of us girls, May 15 may just not be the best day of the month to weigh in. ;) So you may give me your final weight for the mini competition on May 8th or May 15th.

Good luck everyone! :wizard:

Hey Everyone! It sounds like everyone is having a great first week! I'm so proud of everyone. :cool1: Just keep dancing and the weight will float off :cool1:

Oh shoot...my goals for this week:

1. More water!

2. Walk home from the mall at least three times (I have already done this two days in a row now)

3. Do at least one "extra" round of exercise of some sort (may be swimming this weekend)

4. Cut back on the soda intake

5. Not drink huge quantities of alchohol and eat a huge bowl of pasta (ok- that last one will be easy this week ;) )

6. Stay away from the candy dish that they refilled. :sad1:

Oh, I see. lol However, I don't think it's humanly possible to keep losing 4 lbs a week, every week for 32 weeks!! :faint: I wish!! lol
Actually no I don't. I've been 125 and I don't want to do that again. I think 150 is good enough for me. :thumbsup2

Congrats to you on your loss!!! And to everyone else!!! It's been a good first week!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Kat, I like the mini challenge. Sounds good. :)

Kat, that was a really good article. I figured out that to maintain the weight I am at now, I was eating around 3640 calories a day!!!! :faint:

Wow. Although considering I could easily wolf down 5 slices of pizza, I don't think that's too surprising. So even if I was eating around 2000 calories now, I'd still be better off and losing weight.
Interesting.

I will be leaving real soon to weigh myself and workout while DD has dance class. Kat I will PM you when I get back this evening. :thumbsup2

Congratulations ladies! You all are doing great! I only made a half hearted attempt this week, but I did loose 1 pound. It's better than nothing, but certainly not as good as it could be.

Kelli, I certainly understand where you are.

Goals for the week:

Walk for 30 minutes at least 3 times
Don't go near Chick-fil-a (their milkshakes call to me....Debbie......Debbie....:(

They must be working with that darn refrigerator, Debbie.

Congrats on the first pound!

I am doing okay considering the fact that I refuse to cut back on Diet Coke.

Why is everyone trying to cut back on Diet Pop? Other than health reasons, does it affect weight loss? :confused3
