DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

A-ha! So Phyllis is out having fun without us. Hmmph! Hope you are having a good time! :goodvibes

Well, I guess Colts lumps are the best possible thing they can be. Yay! The tests were negative for mono but are just showing some sort of viral infection. It sounds like the lymph nodes can swell when they are fighting off an infection, which is what they are supposed to do. So it could take months, but this should run its course and the lumps will go down. We just have to watch and if they grow, then we panic, LOL! Actually he has an appointmnet for a check up in a few weeks, so thats actually kind of good timing. Id like another professional opinion following up, not just us. The only thing really worrying me is WHAT is this infection??? :confused3 The doctor didnt seem too concerned so I guess I shouldnt be, but it does raise a question.

Morning ya'll....

CamColt - no meds for Colt? Just wait and see if it goes away?:scared:

Hey Sean & Linda - ya'll got snow up there?:scared: :confused3 I heard our mountains down here in Western Maryland got 5" yesterday. So glad that it's supposed to warm up to the 60's again on Fri & Sat. 30's at night but at least the 40's are moving on for a few days...

We got boo'd again last night...and we had our "we've been boo'd thing" in the sidelight window by the door but they ignored it...so I suppose we should do a couple more tonight to keep the fun going. DH always carves our pumpkin & he hasn't started yet. I found a design for him for Davey Jones from POC and enlarged it for him to use as a pattern. Perhaps he'll start tonight.:confused3

I have been putting off going to the grocery store this week 'cuz I need a couple pounds of hamburger to make a crockpot of chili on Saturday for our friends annual football party. If I go shopping too early I won't find a date that's good enough to last thru Sat. Thinkin' about going today. I also need some stuff for Friday nite too...thinking about going to the warehouse grocery store to save a couple bucks. My list takes more planning to go there tho.:headache:

Annie - the thermometer outside my office says "48"..will you say it's cold here???!!!

i think it is 60 inside my office..I have no heat..I have socks, shoes, turtleneck, denim shirt and pants on!! I never wear pants!!

That sounds about right. It was 37 or 38 on my back steps when I got up this morning and around 58 inside on the kitchen counter. My thermometer now reads 45.7 (in the sun now) and it is 61.0 in the kitchen. I am wearing a silk weight set of long underwear, a turtle neck AND a fleece pullover & sweatpants. OH, and my little finger-tip-less gloves!:rotfl: My ears & nose are cold tho...hummm...should I get out my ear muffs? LOL

You all are crazy! I say get that heat goin' man

Inside my house the temp is 71...outside backyard patio temperature reads 50

OOOH! Toasty warm! If I go grocery shopping I will have "free heat" in my car!!:rotfl2:

OK, well, accomplished one pro-active thing today. I just called Capital One about our interest rate on our miles reward card. It was 8.9% fixed for years & years & years. Then at some point last year or whenever it was (once all the interest rates were UP) they raised it to like 13.9% fixed. PISSED me off let me tell ya. Well, so I started think about the FED meeting again tomorrow & probably lowering the rates again so I called to see if we could get the rate lowered back. Don't know if waiting another day would've helped or not...but they gave us a variable rate based on the LIBOR rate, so currently it's 9.9%. I don't like that it's variable but it's 4% less than what we HAD and it only adjusts quarterly. Anybody know anything about the LIBOR rate??? Did I do the right thing?:scared: The lady said this rate does not fluctuate so much as the FED rates.:confused3

Don't know LIBOR - maybe EGORs brother??:confused3 :rotfl: Ask SoccerDad thats right up his alley.

Last soccer practice tonight.

Supposed to get rain here - this will be our last nice day for a few days so they say.

RJ - if our soccer game on Saturday gets rained out I am gonna be a tad irritated. U know what I mean?

Was just reviewing CA OMFS for Workers Compensation. Sounds fun huh!!? Y'all are jealous. I agreed to negotiate some lien cases for the Dr. I was helping out. Gert gets 20% of all said negotiations!:woohoo: Settled one already. Gots like 20 to go. :rolleyes1 The files are kinda a nightmare.

DD has a "wheeze" - she is on nebulizer treatments. Took her to school all hyped up on Pulmicort.:yay: Told the teacher if she cannot focus or is disruptive to call me. So far...phone not ringing!:thumbsup2

OK just wanted to say howdy. And save us from page 2.

OK, had DS try on his costume this evening to see how he could get along carrying a big bag & to make sure he could walk around OK and that he didn't lose any of his load:

The arm holes are maybe a tad big...but I did that on purpose so he'd have room to move around a little with a coat on...

Here's the yard (PRE-wind storm)

Now we have to RE-DO just almost ALL of it.:headache: Hopefully the wind will die down tomorrow...then I can put all this stuff back & we can put the coffin out etc. Very little is still standing.

cute costume. My kind of idea. I can't get any of my kids to recycle. We recycle newspapers here at the condo and I save all the rest of the other things and give to a friend in my old neighborhood where they recycle everything. He goes to the same church as me so I give it to him on Sun. :woohoo:

:scared1: Good for you, Anne! Recycling is a big deal up here. Our county has a really good recycling program (which of course we PAY for with our local taxes etc.). Every townhome & single family home in the county has 2 recycling bins (one for paper & cardboard and one for plastics & cans) and they come thru once a week for pickup. We just put the bins out on the curb like we do with the trash. Apartment buildings are a little harder as they have to take the stuff to a special dumpster by their trash dumpsters. So they have to make 2 trips I guess. At least that's what we did for the 5 mo. we were in an apt. between our townhome and our current home. I have a trash can under the sink in the kitchen for plastics & cans and also one in the basement for the cans & plastic. Makes it very easy to just dump those into the big bin. For the paper & cardboard I just keep like a perpetual pile in the laundry room on top of the washer. We recycle all paper & boxes (frozen peas, waffles, cereal, TP & paper towel rolls). Then I take it out to the garage whenever I go out (or when I need the washer).:goodvibes There are also recycling bins in all county operated facilities (like the schools & pools) so it's really pretty easy to do and it's especially ingrained into the kids to do it. Office buildings have recycling programs too. Everything is supposed to separated.

Just caught the end of a segment on the Today Show about deer & accidents. Man! Those suckers are EVERYWHERE again! I cannot go anywhere without seeing one or two (either dead or alive). I hate seeing them lying there dead but at least I know THAT ONE won't be running in front of me while I'm driving.:scared:

Well, I think this was the coldest morning so far. 35 outside. 53 in our room this morning and 57 down here on the first floor. 2 more days. 2 more days (yes, I am stubborn)!! I am convinced waiting to turn it on will help our budget billing when I look at the "billed to date" and the "used to date" part on the gas bill. And now, even when I DO turn it on I don't think I'll feel the need to turn it up so high. I mean, now that we're used to being cold any warmth will feel good, right?:confused3 It's gotta make it easier.

Happy Halloween almost ;)

I hope everyone has their costumes in place, pumpkins carved and candy at the ready!

Hey RJ!! Wanna go see that parade!?

Costumes - one check
Pumpkin - nope
Candy - not buying any. Going T or T'ing at BFFs house - she bought the candy!!

Gotta pick Ry up from school at 9 and bring her home for breathing treatment. Running a little late this morning. Leetle Pirate not sleeping well for some reason. Mommy needs coffee!!:surfweb:

Gallo thing is really going to happen. Neil is meeting with Director of Engineering Monday. She is hand-delivering his new offer packet and is disappointed her HR dept has dropped the ball so she is offering DH a signing bonus!:woohoo: Now I can book my Christmas Cruise.

just kidding honey...no, really, honey, I did not call SueEllen.
 :lmao:

Nice costume, Annie! Congrats, Johnna!

I was doing good but now Im behind. DH was supposed to buy candy last weekend, but they didnt have the kind he wanted (Twix) so he waited. Ummm...its kind of getting late now. We usually get about 2 kids if that, but still have to have candy. I did a dry run with my costume a couple weeks ago (with all undergarments, LOL), and noticed a rip along the seam (cheapo material). That still hasnt been sewn...I can't sew. Kids are pretty much set. Tomorrow I have to run some errands and will hopefully get everything done and the house cleaned, before the party. I still havent recovered from Saturday night and have another night out. This is so not like me!

Anyone doing anything exciting?
