Mornin' ya'll
So of course MIL's house is not square so DH and his buddy got MIL's new door UP and able to lock...but it still needs some more work (top coat or something and frame put up & painted or something). So he is getting ready to go over there again as it is supposed to rain this afternoon. I'm thinking rain on a wet door is not a brilliant plan tho!

BUT he said they didn't finish getting the outside door frame back on either - so that could be important if it rains too.

Good thing I didn't line up any projects for him this weekend 'eh?!
Gert - put DS's swimming scrapbook together yesterday...I did not use the "zots" yet...just used a double sided scrapbooking tape that was clear...it was removable & I was nervous about doing permanent...thought it was best to get it organized in a repositionable fashion since I'm not sure what I'm doing. I can add the "zots" later once I'm sure I'm done futzing with it! Trying to clean up some of my piles & mess this week before my parents & aunts & uncles come to visit next weekend. The island in the kitchen is buried with CRAP!

And the study looks like I am one of those hoarder people you see on Oprah!!

Seriously. It's a real mess.

This week I MUST clean.
Foot still hurts. It is OK if I am not walking or standing on it!

The pain spread from my heel to include pretty much the entire foot (it is making this cleaning plan I have a little hard to execute - I wanted to wash down the kitchen cabinets with Murphy's Oil Soap

). I decided that perhaps it's because I don't wear "real" shoes enough any more. I walk around barefoot in the house or in flip flops when I go somewhere so maybe it's being caused from a lack of support on my boney little foot. Yesterday I wore my Merrill sandals inside all day. Drove me nuts to wear shoes in the house but it DID seem to make the pain a little bit less. I walked around barefoot this morning just from upstairs to downstairs to make the coffee and it was killing me again.

So I am back to wearing the sandals to get some relief. Not happy with this foot thing tho. I gots stuff I need to do!
So, I am taking DS to a bunch of appts. over the next 2 weeks before school starts. Tomorrow AM at 8:00 is the Orthodontist. Time to see if his last 2 new teeth are in enough to get the braces started. I am pissed I lost my dental insurance when I got laid off. We did not sign up for dental thru DH's work 'cuz it was expensive and the plan did not cover any orthodontia nor was our regular dentist on it. Grrrr... Me thinks I will be writing a beeg check tomorrow to Dr. Grosier.

Friday afternoon he has an eye exam. We got his current RX last Sept. He was supposed to wear them for distance but still doesn't want anybody to see him in them so he never wore them at school...but I think his RX has changed to the point where he may need them all the time. He squints SO much when he doesn't have them on. Although I hate to see his RX get that bad, I think having the Optomotrist tell him he has to wear them all the time is going to be the only way he will actually wear them at school.

I think I can foresee another beeg check to write....
I think I will plan to pick DS up from camp early tomorrow to go to the fair. They did the judging on all of the Arts & Crafts, Paintings & Photography etc. on Saturday - the buildings open today at 1:00 so you can see how you did (if you got any ribbons or not)...but the darned thing is expensive to go to. Monday is 12 & under in free until 4:00 pm AND $20 all you can ride wristband for the carnival rides until 4:00. They charge $5 parking and $8 pp to get in...plus those stoopid rides take like 5 or 6 tickets each and buying them by the sheet is EXPENSIVE...so going to the fair today would probably cost $25 more than going tomorrow. Plus it's supposed to rain this afternoon / evening....NO THANK YOU for walking around the muddy fair ground! DS likes the rides...I like to go thru the bunny barn (our County Fair is also an agriculture fair so there's lots of produce, 4H stuff like cows, pigs, bunnies, alpacas etc.) I love the bunny barn!! They are so cute & soft looking!

Plus they don't stink quite as bad on a hot day as the cow barn!

I always feel bad for the ones that don't win anything tho. They're still cute! Maybe next year I should enter the wood carving/chopping contest or the toilet decorating contest?!
Any word on Beano / RJ?! Miss them.........hope all is OK...........
